  • In this video the 6.0 Bros go over the 6.7 Powerstroke Fuel Filter Change procedure. There are some small differences from the early 6.7 Powerstroke through the 2016 6.7 Powerstroke. In a future upload we will show you how to change fuel filters in your 2017-2020 6.7 Powerstroke. In this video we focus on the 2011-2016 6.7 powerstroke fuel filter change, and we go over draining the lower fuel filter and replacing it. (remember the check valve in the lower fuel bowl) along with replacing the upper fuel filter. on the 6.7 powerstroke fuel filter change is a very easy quick job to do. Replacing the fuel filter in your 6.7 powerstroke is very important to keeping the cp4 pump healthy. cp4 pump failure is a common issue with all many modern diesels. keeping your fuel filters fresh is going to help promote longevity for your entire 6.7 powerstroke fuel system.

      Thanks man. I always worry about losing subscribers over 6.7 content, and actually I have lost quite a few over it, but we're still growing pretty well and the 6.0 will be back! I am far from done with videos on 6.0s

    Back that case off first. 3 turns or so and then crack drain so you don’t just suck fuel from fuel tank

    • @six0bros
      @six0bros  3 года назад +1

      Yea I talk about that. I mean I just open the drain and go because it wont waste much fuel that way but you're correct and that's good advice

      No problem. After that you need to verify where the low fuel pressure is. If it's coming from the low side or high side of it.

    ok smart guy did the same thing you did but it will not self prime with the key. any ideas

    • @six0bros
      @six0bros  Год назад +1

      Just to clarify how many times did you cycle the key and how long did you leave it on? Have you been able to check and make sure the pump itself is working? The 6.7 powerstroke is self priming in the fact it has a low pressure pump that feeds the high pressure one. So making sure everything is hooked up right, and make sure the pump is working on the frame. I would repeat doing it. I forget how many times but I would try 10 cycles and lasting 30 seconds a piece

      @@six0bros I think I screwed up the oring placement. usually o rings are put in a grove to hold them so they can't move on ya. I did this with no light I think I put it on the last thread. maybe you can remember if the o ring goes in its own groove or just slides up in that open section above the threads. I just never saw how far up that o ring went when I pulled it out. thanks

      @mzimm460 Год назад

      I messed with it yesterday and put a clear hose on the fuel filter under the hood. The fuel that came out was mixed with air and never got better. I had pinched the o ring when I put the housing back on, my only hope is I damaged it. So I’ll let you know.
