- Hey guys. From 2013 to present in OSRS (old school runescape) there has been 213 polls where the player base can vote on what content makes it into the game, and how. In this video we're going to go over things that didn't make the cut. "Lost Runescape Content" if you will.

Hey guys, I misspoke and said sailing is CONFIRMED (got ahead of myself). It has not been completely confirmed to be introduced via a poll yet, it merely won out of the three proposed ones in order to be looked into further and fleshed out etc. Thanks guys!
Pretty sure you're wrong on the fight kiln too, in that on release it only offered a new BIS meele cape, not individual mage/ range/ meele capes
That poll was pretty misleading. It asked to vote for the skill you want to see fleshed out and said you could pick more than one. I chose both sailing and shamanism because I wanted to see them both fleshed out a bit more to see what direction they would go. Pretty disappointed that the poll was actually “which one do you want?”

The berserker shields were like the defenders of F2P, they gave str bonus and good defence bonus. The Fist of Guthix minigame was so fun back in the day, it's a shame we're never gonna get it back.
FoG really was great.
i was bullied by high lvls in fog it wasn't fun for noobs but definetly pushed thrpugh the butt kicking to buy everything in the store so it was worth it.

@@Iog0utif you were under 70 att/str youd barely do any damage even with the massively reduced defence on the defender. A lot of the times id beable to just kill the attacker if they were a pure/less tgan 60 cb
F2p FoG was lit and balanced. Once you get p2p gl with d claws spec and a Steel Titan pre-EoC
I've been playing OSRS since day 1, I even voted for it to return. I had forgotten some of these polls. Hard to believe it's been 10 years.
Fun fact, at the start of OSRS '07scape' the most popular way of making gold at the start was stealing silk at Ardy. I remember everybody rushing to Ardougne for that gp.
The launch day of OSRS was one of my favorite memories of RuneScape as a whole.
Sailing has not been confirmed to be released, it has only been polled to flesh the idea out so far and we still have to vote for it to get added to the game or not.

Neat little history thing, remember back when the rooftop agility NPC would shout random things like "idea by user bigredjapan" every. Single. Time. Someone would jump down the rooftop, flooding the screen with annoying text. I messaged the guy in-game like 9 years ago when he had PM on and said cool he won a contest but the NPC was annoying, then shortly after that the npc stopped speaking dialogue above his head. Kinda feel bad for telling a guy to tell his in-game npc to shut up lol but I think he must of directed the idea to a Jmod because of the quick change, so maybe he didn't like it either.

Lol ud be silly to think jagex wont release something they want just cuz visual poll system which they can manipulate any moment, there was video of jagex promised never to bring g.e and it failed poll multiple times and they kept repolling bcuz they wanted to control market. Until they forced it in.. unfortunately the vidoes removed also old twitch broadcasts disapeared to share u proof
I can confirm Berserker rune shield was bis for f2p, as I grinded the hell out of fist of guthix for it when my membership ran out 😂

one of my first slayer assignments back in 2004 was 272 mithril dragons. it sucked, never finished it. slayer stayed at 52 for decades
No mention of the "minigame reward shop"? the poll to add it passed, but none of the rewards passed and it was like never mentioned again by jamflex
I think tob would be in a much better place with its rewards if some of these passed or at least had tuning. The judgement prayer would have been interesting if they toned it down and removed the weird effect, I know it took 4+ attempts to pass a ranged glove bis but Nex is so stacked already there would be nothing wrong if it came from tob. I think the potions are fine as well although probably best not coming from a raid
Lol the wild dogs thing is so true. I remember trying to do demons years ago and they would constantly aggro. The worst part was they didn’t drop anything so they would just slow down your task for no reason.

Great video mate, so crazy seeing this old and forgotten content years later. Nostalgia trip fsure. I remember when I just returned to osrs in 2016, and I got wrecked in the old slayer dungeon by the specters. That old dungeon was nuts. monsters everywhere no rhyme or reason lmao good times/
That shield was only useful in combination with charged rune gauntlets which also came from fog. It allowed the rune scim max hit to go from 28 to 29 I think? It was a long time ago but I remember you needed both the shield and the gauntlets for it to matter. That also includes the strength amulet, strength potion, and having 99 strength. It became obsolete when the gravite equipment was released with dungeoneering.
Surprising that so many of these things actually made it into the game, just with some new changes.

I consider myself neurotypical but Ive started to find RuneScape very very calming in a way no other game is. I only started in 2022 since not playing in 17 years and I think it allows me a good game/life balance that no other game does

I wonder if will add a new max level boss, it seems like there's alot of group wildy bosses but it would be interesting if jagex added some new 1000+ level bosses just to make that aspect of the game more interesting.
BROOO THE ring of influence @7:00 boys would have surely blown the zcb out of the water, not completely, but would def nuke the need for it and I think, well Mayne they would have made en even more op crossbow, cus the ROI seems like its would give up att of course for its passive effect.

I remember being really sad when sailing failed back in 2015, but now I think it failing then to pass now is actually going to be so much better for the game. Im sure back then the sailing we would have gotten just been a clunky islandeering skill, but with the resources that jagex has & the mastery some of the mods have learned with working with the game engine it looks like the skill will be truly expansive for the game
not looking forward to it personally. seems like something that should be a subset of woodcutting mixed with crafting, not a whole new 99 to get
3:00 is not quite right, on release the fight kiln only rewarded you with a BIS melee cape is was similar in stats to the inferno cape today, the ranged and magic variants weren't released for ages.
Kind of a shame the ornament kits didn't pass but i'm sure they'll keep pushing em in there lol

imagine that bolt special ring paired with the diary to permanently increase your bolt activation would of been busted.
Max cape having the stats of a fire cape now wouldn't be irrelevant, because a fire max cape is functionally just a fire cape. Having the functionality of a max cape with fire cape stats would be pretty busted for people who don't have an infernal cape
also there might be some scenarios where even if you have an infernal cape, it might be worth meleeing with a max cape to get the fire cape stats, plus hp regen, plus holy wrench effects, plus teleports, etc

The most interesting part of lost content is that the percentage they fail by shows that there is often enough interest to add the content but it's proposed form is seemingly the issue which is pretty cool.
one thing maybe not everyone knows about but maybe quite a few is that quite a few clans would require their members to downvote certain poll questions and have you screenshot your results and post on reddit or be either kicked or in some cases they would pay their members to downvote or upvote certain polls and encpuraged they use every accpunt that can vote pretty scummy and makes me always wonder what runescape would of been like from polls that almost passed but a few percentages were needed to pass. (no i'm not going to name some of the clans i was talking about as i do still pvm with some individuals in these clans but i'm no longer in for obvious reasons.

I'm sad that taming will be lost content as it was my favorite for the 3 new skills, alas it wasn't meant to be as many of my love for strange games and gameplay...

Updates being Ironman friendly explain drop tables recent as release Phantom Muspah lots of food (too much then patched).
It does throw mainscape skilling economy a long downtrend - blood runes, tuna - and is another story entirely. But I get how Jagex is going at update drop tables

Well you missed point aswell, jagex investors share holders are dectating the game, polls lost our respect atleast for experienced veterans for example when jagex polled yo introduce pets into game failed 2 times but then they forced into game same thing as unwanted events such pride evenr, this shows how rs its getting manipulated by its outside company puppets to ruin game experience for money and change mindset for minor kids about irl shameful subjects.

Sad to think how almost all of the garbage ideas they put forward back in the day would easily pass nowadays. Even something as bad as everything seen in the new prayer book passed with no problem

The game nearly died in the first couple of months before we had big updates coming in. Food for thought
@@hisammy3969 You mean when millionaire cry-babies like Sparc Mac and some racist that got fired before he got hired as a J-mod, begged for new content in 2013 (before it was even a year old) and said the game's awful without god wars... which was the point of the game to be a 2007 port without new content? I do support a good chunk of the updates but it was much better before they attempted to kill the game in the first two years actively adding end-of-game-content like Nieve's slayer funeral and polling a new skill before 1000 players even maxed the original skills.

watching this is just a presentation of low iq voting system with lots of missed opportunity. Depressing to watch, and can't make it past 3 minutes of the video without cringing at the games playerbase to vote "no" just because they can.
I am still unbelievably pissed that the Trading Post was removed. It was literally perfect for people that actually want to play the game as an MMO. You didn't need to screw around with Zybez where people were always offline/private off/already sold and not marked on the site... BUT, you could actually interact with other players. imo, the Grand Exchange was literally the worst update to come to OSRS. You can argue that the playerbase would be smaller and I would agree. I would not find that to be an issue. There would only be people that actually CARE about the social aspect/joruney of Runescape, instead of these zoomers who want the max cape asap and then instantly burn out after or burn out on their way to it - all the while voting crappy updates into the game.
