Happy 40th to the Thomas and Friends TV series. Who knew a world of talking trains/vehicles would draw us all in and keep us here even after we'd grown up. That's the mystical allure of the Island of Sodor
There are 80 engines on the NWR like what the book Sodor, Its History, People and Railways claim. So it makes sense to incorporate charas from the TVS.
So many fun surprises in this one! Perfect for an anniversary video, intentional or not, that is. Amazing work with both the edits and the writing as always. I genuinely thought there was an actual illustration of Stafford alongside Toby from the books lol. You always manage to impress me with the writing added to these videos, literally every time. Cheers!
I think the NWR will have needed a Class 08 (or more than one) of their own. I think if Tidmouth got one in 1967 when Duck took up the Arlesburgh branch it would have been D3193, the first withdrawn.
Emily in steam in the 1980s: ruclips.net/video/MoiGGgEWiVI/видео.html She would have visited Sodor between 1979 & 1985 when she was last steamed. In my headcanon Emily is the real preserved Stirling Single.
Although Murdoch is a Scottish name, no 9Fs were ever allocated to the Scottish Region. He could be any 9F apart from the 6 preserved examples or the 10 Franco-Crosti boiler locomotives. I imagine him arriving on Sodor between 1964 & 1968 when BR withdrew the 9F class.
He could still have gotten his name and accent from his crew if they had grown up in Scotland but moved elsewhere to find work. Just like CGI era Skarloey and Rheneas could have gotten Welsh accents from their crews.
My friend’s head canon for Emily in the context of the RWS was that the one we know is instead called Victoria and painted blue like the Scottish twins. The real Emily is actually from the mainland and pretty much unchanged from her tv series equivalent
@@sodorislandmodels6332 I think Emily is the real Stirling Single and I think the way she would fit in the RWS is a visit to Sodor during the early 1980s during the period it was steamed (Emily hasn't been steamed since 1985).
oh yea so you've heard of it. I did dm him the whole head canon, but i have to confess there is also a coach named Victoria so there may be a bit of confusion. I felt that Adelaide suited the blue sterling single better, but Victoria stuck.
"Hi, dad!" *Paces intently* "Aren't you going to ask how my trip went?" *Keeps pacing intently* "Dear, I think my dad is interested in your car." "It's a Belinda!" (True story about when one of the Reverend Awdry's daughters came back from a date and he was so fascinated by his daughter's boyfriend's car he forgot to greet her.)
Can’t believe the show is 40 years old today.
Yep, happy birthday Thomas and friends!
Happy birthday indeed :)
Happy Birthday, to the Little Old Cheeky Tank engine to united us all as a community, thank you Thomas

Colon was gonna come back in king of the railway in cgi but was replaced by a different 🏗 crane
Oh wow :)
You should make a video about British rail RWS edits.
Like what? :)
Good wrok
Ta!
I think Belinda the Beetle (Rev W Awdry book) would suit the RWS art style.
Yes it would :)
