I really like that when Tenma goes "You can start by imitating, Yes, these are real tears." he's also talking to himself. As someone extremely selfish and unemotional, he's kinda using Helena to try to teach himself to grieve over his son.

I've read the manga, I've seen the anime once before this reaction, yet none of that prepares me emotionally for Helena slowly starting to cry.

It's so well written. For the purpose of looking like human crying and distress, it's just performing an action but the emotions behind the action are all there an real; they just were never taught how to express those emotions. It 2 layers deep of sadness

Not to undersell remaining episodes, but this is quite literally a peak of Pluto. There is no alternative universe where you could hit higher peak than that, without diminishing everything comming prior. Such a fantastic story.

How could someone be talented enough to write this and Monster, it’s actually insane

If you like those two, i'd highly recommend checking out 20th Century Boys(And 21th Century Boys). It is from the same author and the manga is almost as big as Monster and i have no idea why it doesnt have an anime adaptation. Billy Bat is also another of Urasawa's big works.

He's also a talented musician, released two albums and wrote the piano melody in episode 1

twice in the story for a brief moment gesicht became the strongest robot on earth, not because he was built to or someone pushed him into it, but because thru circumstances he attained humanity.
and both those times he only wanted the pain to stop and then to be punished.

something I really want to say here is that, having seen all of Pluto, this episode is doing some really interesting things.
    [SPOILER WARNING]
like, especially with Abullah, once you know the truth about him. his conversation with Epsilon is wild once you know. like when Abullah says "the level of your perfection amazes me" and Epsilon replies "you as well" that's actually way more literal than you'd take it to mean on the first viewing. and then Brau's comment, that a perfect AI would start to lie, even to itself... we've already seen Abullah lie once, about knowing Sahad earlier, and Gezicht even uses that as evidence of his humanity. and the thing about introducing unbalanced emotions, where Brau specifically alludes to Gezicht's hatred and rage at the death of his child, as we're show Abullah crying while remembering the loss of his own family... that parallel is amazingly well placed. and then when Abullah cries, Epsilon looks startled and notes his tears, like he didn't expect that.
plus, when Abullah is talking to Hoffman in the restroom, they even noted in the reaction that it's a really cool shot, where Abullah is standing in front of the mirror and there's two of him... but they don't even know exactly how cool that is.
EDIT: I also think the way the story handles Gezicht here is just completely gorgeous. he is a beloved person to us at this point, because we've seen the hatred he discovered within himself. we've seen the way he felt about it, the way it scared him, and the way he tried to handle it.
hatred was never really the point... it's something that comes about from the abuse of something you love. the love was always the important part, and you can feel just how deeply that love flows from Gezicht to the people he cares for, and even to people that he barely even knows. all he has to know for sure, is that they don't deserve to be hurt.
Gezicht is something precious in and of himself. you can see it when he extends his hand to Muhammad, trying to comfort this child, even as he dies, because a father was what he always wanted to be, and he won't stop now. in his dying moment, hatred is not what he feels. even after realizing all the various abuses that he himself has suffered, that's not the last thing in his mind as he goes.
Gezicht was worried that the hatred he felt that day would never fade. his memory of it is so clear, no matter how much time passes. but they tried to erase the memory of his child entirely, and still, the love endured. I think that's more central to who Gezicht is. every other action that we've seen him take has aligned with this. and I think Helena's tears hit so hard at the end, because I want to cry too. I found myself following her lead.

This show is good i have some complains of the resolve of the complex but it's good. but... i coudn't feel for the robots in shows including this one i just coudn't it feels fake feels programmed or something i can't even describe it. Though i do feel or even cry in other shows but not robots related apparently.

      Same for me
The writing is good so atleast it's enjoyable
