Brau1589: The Only Robot With Blood on Its Hands | PLUTO | Clip | Netflix Anime
/ @netflixanime
When the world’s seven most advanced robots and their human allies are murdered one by one, inspector Gesicht soon discovers that he’s also in danger.
Braun1589 is like Hannibal Lecter. He has very few appearance but is very memorable and he always has one last card under his sleeve.
Yeah makes sense since Pluto is Silence of the Lambs by way of robot 😂
Right on the button!!!
He’s exactly like Hannibal lol.
ProZD is a man of many talents
No it’s not Hannibal Lecter. He’s just a troll bot
Brau stole literally every scene he was in. While there were few scenes, he made powerful impacts in each one. He was like the Hannibal Lecter of the series. He may be in this state of disrepair, but do NOT underestimate him. The voice actor did an AMAZING job with his voice.
Praise for ProZD for phenomenal voice acting
@@beansbrat5747holy shit no way!!
@@beansbrat5747 u deadass rn dude
how tf did he do that
Reminder: One of those scenes was with KEITH DAVID playing Dr Tenma. That's how hard SungWon nailed it!
He still has a strong spear-throwing arm, that’s for sure!
ProZD did an amazing job voicing this robot absolutely loved all his scenes
Didn't even realize it was him until he released his voice reel. Fits the role super well
Ooooohhhhh my god that's crazy he killed it
THAT WAS THE FUCKING SOSUKE BOSUKE GUY?????
Damn it why'd you have to ruin it... Ew
@@GENIUSGTyeah now this character is ruined for me too
Love how during this scene Brau’s speech pattern and inflection, the little laughs and his sarcasm when offering to exchange memory chips, make him sounds way more natural/human than Gesicht’s does
Put together with his AI having no defect it sounds really ominous, was his AI good enough to reason like a true human would?
No need to even look human if you discovered human thought. Brau achieved that. Besides him being a murderer and all.....
This is also kinds interesting with his interactions with Tenma, who is just as cold despite being even more human.
@@vevans0009 i mean, murder is a human concept. Animals don't murder, they hunt, they defend their dens, they play. Murder is a human act, that we project onto other creatures and things, because we only know human lives, and can only relate to that element.
Don't get me wrong, they are monstrous, but just as compassion is mostly a human concept, so too is it's opposite.
I wouldn't exactly call being like a human flawless. At most it is flawed in the same way that people are which, you know, makes sense.
@@hehehe88animals DO murder though. When a lion takes the position of alpha male he kills all the puppies. Chimpanzees groups murder rival individuals in ambushes. The list goes on and on.
Wild to think how far ProZD (SungWon Cho) has come. Absolutely killed it in this role.
I didn’t recognize it was hime until you pointed it out.
He really has, wow
fuck i would've had no idea if you hadn't left this comment. I remembered he became a voice actor but I never recognize him cause of just how well he disappears into his roles. Its super easy to recognize all the greats and especially the terrible ones but ProZD is good at just becoming anything he needs to.
I was wondering where I knew that voice from. It sounded familiar but I couldn't place it.
@@PhlebasFrom what I remember the other character whom he used this effect was when he did FL4K from BL3
Must have been a dream for him. He’e a huge Urasawa fan.
It’s interesting how different Brau and Gesicht’s reactions are when they discover hatred. Brau seems to revel in it and enjoy it. Gesicht, on the other hand, tries to deny and contain it. Neither one is necessarily a healthy response but these two wouldn’t understand that because they are AI and don’t have *any* experience of true emotion before they felt hate. What a great show.
I mean, if you want an AI to perfectly emulate humans,.... Brau1589 is the perfect example, sometimes we do terrible things for no reason.... and the free will to do it.
Humans do it cus it feels good, they get high from it like a prefator hunting its prey, its addicting and gives meaning to a meaningless exitence were they can only be stimulated through violence and hurting others, iot, they are defective organisms, just like defective machines.
He lacks empathy but so do some humans
Scariest part is that Brau1589 could have left at any time he wanted, The armoured vault doors, the barricade, the anti robot security, None of it could have stopped him.
I can only imagine he just didn't have a reason to go anywhere, and the humans false belief in his supposed helplessness was just funny to him.
I still don’t know how he left. Was he smuggled out or he killed everyone on his way?
i kinda guessed atom left the door open for him, since he was the last one to see Brau. @@Vacartu
@@BelldandyMan @Vacartu thats part of the mystery I suppose since they never actually showed how. I personally don't think Atom had to do anything. I imagine since we don't know all of Brau1589s abilities even smashed as he is. We can only speculate but than again he is still one of the legendary 7 robots.
He's not one of the 7. @@blastchambers2150
You know what also could be seen as a bit scary, Pluto never went after Brau1589?
Probably knew he couldn't defeat him.....Brau1589 did absolutely did nothing in most of the film, but was the most menacing out of all the robots.
please let this get a blu-ray release it was phenomenal !!!!!
if NETFLIX aloud it owned original Castlevania to get a DVD release thank to Viz Media
why not Pluto
That voice. That callousness. That cold sarcasm. He’s genuinely the scariest being I have ever saw in fiction. It’s like watching Lovecraftian Horror.
Oh the dub is better?
Brau's name is a misnomer, his name is supposed to be the German word for blue so in reality his supposed to be blue Knight from Astro boy.
@willbornparadise254 yeah because in the Japanese language the r and l sounds are interchangeable so that's why his name is Brau not blau.
Blue knight!? How sad...
Even better, Brau’s design is based off an x-ray of Blue Knight from the original manga
Along with the scene being almost completely blue. Nice catch.
Brau in the English dub reminds me alot of Ultron. His way of speaking and his demeanour, it's very similar. Fantastic job by the voice actors!!
Lol thought the same i had to see if it was
He's sort of like if Tom Kane Ultron spoke like Ross Marquand Ultron, two incredible Ultron VAs with wildly different takes on the character and yet, it works so weirdly well.
Watched the show after 100% Lies of P. I was really shocked when i realised one of the characters was fully inspired by Brau1589
It's basically a 1:1 take on the same character. Well, the Lies of P version is much more outwardly unhinged, but still. The devs definitely liked Pluto.
And Brau is based off Blue Knight, a villain in the original Astro Boy.
@@georgeliquor1236 thanks for the clarification. It was the only name that popped up when I was trying to find the equivalent. But, wasn't sure
yeah lmao it's JUST the same guy I love it
Was looking for this comment 👍
I know it’s pure fantasy to think they’d even get a nod, but either SungWon Cho or Keith David deserve this year’s goddamn Emmy for their performance in this show…
Brau is basically immobile and has no face to emote with, yet I can so vividly picture just from his vocal delivery all the mugging expressions and gesticulations he’d be doing were that not the case… it’s a phenomenal feat in driving home a character’s demeanor through sheer vocal prowess and nothing else
I still love the fact that Sungwon Cho is getting roles like this and Ratatoskr in GoW:R. My boi has come so far!
I knew i recognized that voice ! Amazing just how far he has gotten
since when was Ratatoskr a voice actor
I love the effect they use for the voice
Same! I want to build something to emulate that in real time.
It’s called bitcrushing. They added reverb after they did that. Not bitcrushing reverb audio isn't always nice
It's awesome
For those curious, yes, that's the blue knight.
No longer an anti-hero/villain.
"The Only Robot With Blood on Its Hands" ... officially...
Prozd was excellent as the English voice of brau
He was great!!!!
That’s ProZD?
@@victorhernandez8723 yeah, prozd recently uploaded a short reel of voice acting roles he’s had and this one showed up at the start.
@@victorhernandez8723 Yup! That was Sungwon!
Don't forget Bahasa Indonesia n dub, it's also awesome
Just want to let everyone know that Braun 1589 is voiced by ProZD.
DAAAAAAAMN bruh I swear whenever I see comments like these I feel like such a dumbass. How the hell did I not recognize his buttery smooth voice?!?
This is such a great anime series im very happy with the art style they went with using wonderfully beautiful cgi and beautiful none cgi as well they mixed both anime styles perfectly imo
The CGI felt so natural, it's weird but it reminded me of how Futurama blends CGI with the artstyle and was one of the first shows to do it. I know it's not anime but still
He’s supposedly an interpretation of The Blue Knight.
It's not "supposedly." Basically they remade the original Astro-Boy storyline into "What if we did Astro-Boy but I really like the movie Manhunter and Silence of the Lambs."
Love how Sung Won Cho played the character. He plays into the "serial killer" vibes of the character, but in a way that feels theatrical. Like Brau himself is intentionally playing the scary monster people expect him to be. Whether it's a tactic to unsettle interrogaters like Gesicht or just his way of amusing himself, it's a great bit of nuance. It shows just how smart and how "human" he is.
who? ssung-win?
@@user-te1hw9rt4x The english VA is named Sung Won Cho. He also goes by his username Prozd

Lies of P and Pluto I love this!!!
This scene alone made me watch the English dub rather than the sub or german, my native language. Even though in german, Brau is voiced by the guy who also played Handsome Jack, on of my all time favourite performances. And jet ProZD absolutely dominated every scene he was in.
Brau1589 was one bad program away from becoming Terminator Joker.
Damn the english dub sounds so good. Maybe I need to rewatch with EN dub
Strongly recommend it, great performances all around.
they have goddamn keith david in the cast dude
this shit is gas
Read the manga series. An amazing mystery story. Never thought they make a show.
Brau was peak !!! Helped everyone to the very ene
For some reason I thought it was Brau1589 who killed Tobio in the car accident that he was involved in.
Increíble anime y doblaje, el mejor anime de 2023 a mi parecer
I love how all of us can see the Hannibal and Graham/Clarice dinamic when they need information about the killer.
Pluto is fantastic!
I mean it's very clearly supposed to evoke that dynamic. The whole series is basically what if Astro-Boy was a remake of Manhunter.
North number 2 scene made me sad
yes
コイツが死ぬほどかっこいいだよな...
Never in my life watched a dub but I'll check this out the dub sounds good
Dude Keith David (Spawn, the Arbiter) plays Dr. Tenma in this dub. It's a pretty sick dub honestly
I liked this guy every time he was on screen. He's like the Hannible Lecter of robots.
What happens when artifical inteligence gets TOO perfect!🤖😱
While I keep on hearing people discuss how much Astroboy lore you need to know to keep up with this show....
I read the manga without realzie Atom was another name for astro boy. I didn't realize it was an astroboy story until the 2/3 mark. And let me tell you- you miss out more of this story if you don't know Hannbial Lector lore. Also, Iraq War lore.
That voice is just... SILK.
ブラウの声優さんが青騎士と同じ人なのは因果を感じる
This is one hell of an Astro Boy reboot.
The fact that ProZD got to voice act for one of his favorite manga was great.
No spoilers but it's a shame that a lot of scenes were removed from the manga. They really tie some things together. For example the main villain's name, the one behind everything is never said once in the anime, they just show them talking and their appearance while in the manga their name is mentioned several times. A weird choice to just not say their name in the anime. Other stuff like that were regular in the show.
You mean the guy that brau mentions? And that the anime was named?
@@andrewmartin2953 I mean Dr Roosevelt
"Oh and one more thing inspector, King Dragon sends his regards"
プルートゥのキャラクターはかっこよくて素敵ですな。
i really would like to know more about the murder he commited, but it may be better to be left a mystery
Blau1589 has the same German VA as Rick (Rick and morty), Handsome Jack (Borderlands) and Ghostface (Scream)
I can't believe this dude is supposed be Blue Knight apparentally.
Yeah, I wish that they animated how he got in his current condition
HAH! I think Brau1589 saw... the point.
(Because he has a sword stabbed through his chest)
*Brau1589 - The Blue Knight of Pluto*
As someone who really doesn't like anime outside of like, Studio Ghibli and a choice few others? This series wa completely god damn amazing.
I recommend you watch Hinotori/Phoenix and Black Jack by Osamu Tezuka. They are great anime
Check out Monster next, it's old but it's made by the same guy, Urusawa, and it's a masterpiece
Also try read his comic 20th Century Boys, also a masterpiece
ここだけでもうワクワクする
LIES OF Pの謎かけ王はこいつが元ネタなんかな?
King Dragon, wow, you do a good VA
I like brau he was a very mysterious and cool robot
I have never preferred watching an anime with English dubbed over. It always seemed- how to put it... - icky and out of place to me. On the very rare occasion, the english version turns out to be pretty good (Code Geass comes to mind), but I typically find more value in hearing the lines in their purest form.
With that being said...
I watched the first episode of Pluto today, and MY WORD, the English voice acting has thus far been mesmerizing, dare I say, awe-inspiring. I tried to stick to the default format, but every few minutes, I was compelled to switch the audio. The immobilized murderer-robot and the old, blind pianist particularly knock it out of the park. I hope to find this to be consistently pleasing.
Wait till you hear Dr. Tenma. Keith David is in the English cast for this.
The City is DOOMED, Inspector Gesicht! I've poisoned the water supply!
Japanese Anime are the best!
Braun 1589 is blue knight in the OG Astroboy. He learned about human cruelty and became the robot liberators.
I want brau to have his own series
To think that Brau1589 from Pluto and Grimmer from Monster (both masterpieces from Naoki Urasawa) are voiced by the same person...
Give me fully adapted Berserk with this animation and it's gonna be the best TV show of all time
This reminds me of a scenes in Lies of P where you find the king of riddles, who turned out to be a puppet who killed they’re owners, there both even positioned the same with wires and the spear
I thought the same thing. Is the king of riddles a reference to this?
@@headshooter92definitely, the manga come out years before
he's literally so babygirl coded
It's strange, really. He reminds me so much of Sigma (and Vile, to an extent) from Mega Man X.
Y pensar que este robot es el Blue Knight de este universo...
Alright, haven't watch it yet obviously, but the fact he has the weapon from hollow knight rammed through him means that someone fought him with an actual spear, which already begs a decent amount of questions.
He is a reference to the Blue Knight from the Astroboy manga, so I imagine they kept the medieval imagery through the spear
Hannibal got a makeover.
This is just the king of riddles from lies of P
I really, really hope that this gets a blu-ray or dvd release.
Arleccino the King of Riddles' origin.
You can see the difference between the original subs vs dub localization, and usually the dub is either a carbon copy or downgrade from the subs. But whoever wrote the localization here was GOOD.
In the original dub, as Braun was talking my mind was sure I heard that voice before but I could not pin point the voice, and suddenly their is a faint laugh then bham!! Its doflamingo that iconic laughter.
I remember this in the Manga, such a great story.
I was convinced this was Ray Chase until I looked up the voice cast. Wow.
Masterpiece
Literally the same voice as the robot in borderlands 3
This limited series was phenomenal.
Also before I forget this brought in characters not just from astro boy others works done by tezuka as well.
What I love about this character is it makes no sense from a point of view of realism. If you wnated to imprison him you'd just transfer his CPU to a computer or something
Instead it is to evocative of a hideous monster or ancient demon some long ago hero pinned to the earth so now its just a honey tongue teampter
Its great, a perfect example of how to break from the norm
His japanese voice is Doframingo
Well then, and in fact that Hideyuki Tanaka-san (who's voiced Brau-1589 as well Donquixote Doflamingo in the "One Piece 👒💀" anime) has also voiced the Blue Knight in the 2003 "Astro Boy" anime yet...👍
My god, I loved the manga so much back in the days. I didn't know there was an anime
increíble animé!
I like how there is barely any resemblance between the voice acting and the captions...
Glad he had a handful of appearances instead of once
If they made a proper reboot of ReBoot, ProZD would be perfect for the role of Megabyte.
By far my favourite character in this anime 💯💯
Love the refference in "Lies of P" in the form of the King of Riddles.
Wait, you mean to tell me I should have watched it in english dub?
Tenma's voice is so good
More heartbreaking in dub
One of my friends auditioned for Braun1589
Oh bro I love this guy.
Amazing anime.
Braun1589 show one thing many people wish to forget when it come to what science could create. If we could really create artificial so close to humans you wouldn't be able to make the difference, does this new life wouldn't be as much awful as humans can be, instead of as beautiful we wanted it to be ?
