yup im pretty much always team Walt. hes a selfish egomaniac but Gus, the Salamancas, Madrigal, Todd's Gang are all worse and the world is better without them. Thanks for cleaning up, Mr. White!
this is what frusates me about people who watch BB. Yes mike is correct about Walt having overwhelming pride and ego but Gus wanting to kill walter all comes back to jesse being unable to let a situation to. Jesse is the main cause of the downfall of everything. Had jesse not ran to the RV and made it so they had to give a fake phone call to marie then jesse would not have been beaten and not have been brought into gus’s operation. All roads lead back to jesse. some people also try to say walter blackmailed jesse which is true…only for their first ever cook. After that jesse directly goes to walt which then later that episode causes walt to also go back and join him. Mike is wrong and i believe its wrote to be wrong on purpose. he grew to love jesse which in s3 he was telling walter “no more half measures” People completely just ignore the context in which mike is talking about walt here. Yes he has pride and ego. THAT is not the reason fring didn’t work out. That is the reason this season doesn’t work.
I think Todd waving at the kid was to keep him at ease. If somebody waves a you, it generally gives you a sense of comfort knowing the person acknowledges your presence and makes you feel at ease. So by Todd doing that, it gave the kid less reason to just drive away on his dirt bike and make an accurate shot instead of a moving target.
The brilliance of this show was its ability to make you feel sympathy for, and cheer on, some of the bad guys while also wanting them to be caught and face justice for their deeds.
they weren't being greedy with the train robbery, they had it precisely planned so they would never know they had been robbed. if they had stopped early and not put enough water back in, they would know they were robbed and there would be an investigation.
I actually paused the video due to my husband asking about my reaction to George's MRI story. Then Googled it. Not only did the guy live but sued the company for false advertising their product as "100% silicone".
At 1:01:22 when Lydia says “we’re gonna make a lot of money together” which isn’t shown in this reaction video but happens in the show Walt makes a uncomfortable face after hearing her say that and I believe he makes this face because last time he heard that sentence was from Tuco during Walt’s first big meth deal ever

40:34 "Is he just being greedy now?" "Yeah, 100% he is." Actually, he isn't. At this point all they're doing is pumping water back into the tanker to make up for the mass of methylamine they removed. Walt lived long enough to see himself become the villan at which point his ego is his own worst enemy. The fact his character changed so much over the 5 season makes this show special for me. For most tv the characters are the same but the situations change, this show flips that.

A film you should definitely do for the channel is 'Thief' by Michael Mann as Breaking Bad fans. He also directed HEAT. I only saw it myself for the first time just recently and it is incredible.
no mater how many times I see Dead Weight, I still get so immersed during the heist and still on the edge of my seat. Also with all my watch throughs how had I not notice the bank thing is what Walt glanced at in Hanks office on the second visit.
For a truly horrific moment, imagine what it was like seeing that last scene of Walt's realisation...and knowing you'd have to wait 8 months to know what happened next!
Mike is one of the most fascinating and complex characters in fiction. He was on a path to almost do the opposite of what Walter White was doing and got cut down before he could. One minute he is taking out dangerous foes and can be scary but the next minute he's doting on his granddaughter and looks like a regular family man. He's also the first person to see that it has become about ego for Walt.
One thing that really hammers home that Mike was a bad guy is him telling Walter that if he'd just cooperated with Gus then everything would've been fine. If he had, Jesse would be dead.
Season 5, part 2, was the worst for that. Every episode ended on a cliffhanger. Thank god I didn't watch it when it first aired and was able to binge it.
I love the juxtaposition of starting off the season with the birthday bacon compared to starting off the show the same way. At first, he's a character we sympathize with, and he makes some bad choices. Very quickly, he starts to do questionable things. It becomes harder and harder to defend him. Then, in season 5, at the _peak_ of his vanity and avarice, he's just an irredeemable, rampaging villain. It's a cool arc to see a main character go through. It's a constant vacillation between "he needs to get his comeuppance" and "I really wanna see how this continues to play out."
In episode 5 Walt wasn't being greedy for once actually. There is a weigh station at the next stop and they would know something happened right away if it was missing hundreds of gallons and investigate the train car.
41:54 was so funny to me, guy waves and shoots the kid: ''Why would he wave?'' and not "Why would he shoot?". I think the shooting was the weird part, not the waving xD
They don't he's a psycho yet.. I remember being confused at first watch bc I thought it was out of character for this new guy... I'm obviously it fits his character like a glove
What makes this whole show great other than the story, the characters (even when they are 'minor', have a ton of detail to them), the dialogue, the science and, well, pretty much everything. Is that this may be the best and longest portrayal of a sympathetic, even good protagonist who is an absolute villain by the end.
You folks that streamed this series for your first watch can have no idea about the pure stress and frustration of the long waits between seasons and particularly this split final season... it took forever. I've subsequently have binged the series on Bluray multiple times, clicking to begin the next episode immediately upon the end of the current one. I've been able to watch the whole series on a weekend. I can't believe that I watched this over years on the first run on TV. The next 8 episodes are going to be amazing for your first exposure.
"Now I have no idea what they're going to do. I though they'd use a magnet to frag the drive." On screen: Industrial scrapyard magnet stacking an automobile on a pile. Sherlock Holmes over here.😉
There were two separate incidents around me at two different hospitals. The first used an MRI, but had large steel oxygen tanks stored nearby... It pulled that tanks into the person getting the test and killed them. Another was a gurney that was pulled into the machine with someone in it. I worry about it every time I need an MRI. Lol
Mythbusters did a episode on the magnet thing. Sadly it wouldn't work. It didn't end up pulling anything towards it or even affecting the laptop. Aside some other issues like the truck being metal and being affected more.

yup im pretty much always team Walt. hes a selfish egomaniac but Gus, the Salamancas, Madrigal, Todd's Gang are all worse and the world is better without them.
@@jinxysaberk agreed 100%
I think Todd waving at the kid was to keep him at ease. If somebody waves a you, it generally gives you a sense of comfort knowing the person acknowledges your presence and makes you feel at ease. So by Todd doing that, it gave the kid less reason to just drive away on his dirt bike and make an accurate shot instead of a moving target.
"All I can do is wait" "For what?" "For the cancer to come back... " Such a cold line, delivered perfectly!
The brilliance of this show was its ability to make you feel sympathy for, and cheer on, some of the bad guys while also wanting them to be caught and face justice for their deeds.
Lydia oh Lydia have you met Lydia
Could be you know mutually good.
they weren't being greedy with the train robbery, they had it precisely planned so they would never know they had been robbed. if they had stopped early and not put enough water back in, they would know they were robbed and there would be an investigation.
I was late to the party with BB, didn't start watching it until the 1st part of s5. When I caught up, the episode that aired was s5e8 and I remember losing my goddamn mind and had to wait the year with everyone else. Worth the wait considering how absolutely masterful s5 part 2 is. Crazy to think that was over a decade ago now.
I had the exact same experience.
The thing with the train was not walths greed but they had to fill it up with the right ammount of water you forgot about that? :D
"Say my name" is one of the best scenes I've seen in any show.
I’ve been rewatching your older Breaking Bad reactions to help distract through a hard time and was wondering when the 5th season would be released on this channel.
Going to save tomorrow’s finale episode reactions for after my neurosurgery appointment on Monday.
Thanks for what you do. It helps people in ways you probably have no idea. Love to you both ❤
Not Simone or George (obviously heh), but best of luck to you on your surgery 💪
@@Vulcanerdthanks so much, and it matters coming from anyone so thank you.
It’s not the surgery yet. Just getting ducks in a row with another health issue so I can get the spinal surgery done with them in the near future.
Hope you’re doing ok yourself. Thank you again. Means a lot ❤
Mike is a fantastic character in BB.
In BCS, he retroactively grows legendary. The writing and Jonathan Banks just knocked it out of the park. Really sucks that BCS got 50+ Emmy nominations and didn't win a single one. Damn shame.
Biggest robbery in history fr like wtf
40:34 "Is he just being greedy now?" "Yeah, 100% he is." Actually, he isn't. At this point all they're doing is pumping water back into the tanker to make up for the mass of methylamine they removed. If they stop prematurely, they don't leave with any less chemical, but they do have a much greater chance of the theft being noticed.
Blows my mind that the actress (Laura Fraser) who plays Lydia is Scottish. Such a good baddie 😱
You know how to ruin that last scene with Hank and the book? Add a water splash after the screen fades to black.
It wouldn't be ruined, it would be bravo.
That sound effect was a year later on episode 9.
No no, it had to end on a "cliff" "hanger", or at least _something_ hanging ... it you know what I mean 😉
"Nothing stops this train". Always foreshadowing things in this show.
Did I click this video as soon as I saw it? You're God damn right!
Sandwiched in between The Sopranos and Breaking bad was another critically acclaimed revolutionary cable drama called The Shield. It ran from 2002-2008 so it was running alongside Sopranos and ut's last season aired when BB debuted. It is phenomenal and has THE GREATEST SERIES FINALE OF ALL TIME.
I hope you guys can one day watch The Shield. It has a bit of the wire, breaking bad and Sopranos. It was the Era of the Anti-hero and The Shield was no exception.
@@xtremejay2000 Agree, The Shield is incredible.
@@adambainbridge1708 Why does it never get talked about or suggested. It's so weird. It was a popular show. Nominated every year, and it's like it never existed.
Though I think Simone and George would have a hard time. They could never bring themselves to fully root for Walter White. No way they can root for Mackey to keep skating by.
@@xtremejay2000 For one thing I’m not sure where to watch it even. It used to be on Netflix UK but not aware of it on any of the streaming services I use. Maybe it’s on Netflix elsewhere with a VPN or HULU, but it might just be hard to find so has become forgotten. I know there are two versions of it, the original 4:3 version and a widescreen 16:9 version of it. I’ve only seen the OG version and loved it.
@@adambainbridge1708 Yeah looks like it's on HULU (U.S ). Though nothing for a larger channel like this to drop 75 bucks on a box set. But yeah as far as I know it hasn't vanished from all streaming services. Its been available on something for a decade.
When these Breaking Bad marathon videos drop it feels like Hanukkah 🥰
For me, the tension during the train heist was so bad I couldn't sit still while watching it. I had to get up and pace around.
Walt lived long enough to see himself become the villan at which point his ego is his own worst enemy. The fact his character changed so much over the 5 season makes this show special for me. For most tv the characters are the same but the situations change, this show flips that.
It took me way too long to notice Lydia is the blacksmith from A Knight's Tale :D
Me too! Didn't believe it at first when someone first mentioned it to me. Now I look at the pictures side by side and can't believe I didn't see it. That's a movie I watch once a year too.
The random simone cat appearances between jumpcuts is always my favorite part of your videos lol
Honestly, i was expecting way more shock specially from Simone about the kid on the bike, like i ve seen Simone completely ruined by movie scenes in the past (which is what i love this channel, this channel is raw), my explanation is that the scene is so shocking you didnt have a response, you went blank trying to process what happened to the point you dont look as shocked as i expected.
Walt clearly celebrates his 52nd birthday in the Dennys. "How far into the future was that Dennys? I dunno?" 😂
I know right. It's like, "Hello, think McFly, think."
I think they didn't know what time it was from Walt killing Gus to the Denny's scene. Is it 6 months, a year or more
so that Butt Plug MRI guy must have had a moment where things felt SOOOO good before going hideously bad.
Cannot WAIT for the Ozymandias reaction tomorrow :)
WE HAVE FINALLY MADE IT TO THE FINALE SEASON!!!!
Congrats guys on the breaking bad run 🥳
Skinny Pete's piano playing such a wonderful subtle nod that just because someone looks a certain way they could have amazing talents in places you would never even think of.
Simone watching Todd about to kill the kid: "no no NO NOO"
Todd: "..... yeah."
So anyway I started blasting...
Walt: i am the one who knocks
Todd: im the one who waves!
Walt Jr.: "I am the one who eats breakfast and hangs out with Lewis."
"Imagine that cliffhanger ending like that!"
If you like that, I'd like to introduce you to this guy named Lalo.
At least that was only 6 weeks of waiting.
A film you should definitely do for the channel is 'Thief' by Michael Mann as Breaking Bad fans. He also directed HEAT. I only saw it myself for the first time just recently and it is incredible.
"The toilet is the place for all epiphanies"
No truer words were spoken
"Live Free or Die" is indeed the official New Hampshire state motto.
no mater how many times I see Dead Weight, I still get so immersed during the heist and still on the edge of my seat. Also with all my watch throughs how had I not notice the bank thing is what Walt glanced at in Hanks office on the second visit.
It had nothing to do with greed eith the train. They already took the methlamene so at the end he was trying to put the rest of the water in
For a truly horrific moment, imagine what it was like seeing that last scene of Walt's realisation...and knowing you'd have to wait 8 months to know what happened next!
Ive been excited for this release! Awesome guys! Can't wait!
Episode 8 debut on September 2nd, 2012. Tv viewers had to wait until August 11th, 2013 to watch episode 9. Almost a full year.
One thing that really hammers home that Mike was a bad guy is him telling Walter that if he'd just cooperated with Gus then everything would've been fine. If he had, Jesse would be dead.
I’ve SO enjoyed re-watching this with you
Reaction at the end did not disappoint! Almost worth joining Patreon just to see it unedited! 😄
Waiting a year to see what happened was pure torture! I swear BB cliffhangers were borderline illegal!
Season 5, part 2, was the worst for that. Every episode ended on a cliffhanger. Thank god I didn't watch it when it first aired and was able to binge it.
58:47 Mike is one of the best characters ever created, in any format. Every scene he's in makes the character better.
When you think you've seen the worst of mankind called Walter White... Todd: *bonjour*
I prefer to imagine that before "This is what a go bag looks like," Walt's first thought was "Ok so the term is 'go bag.'"
Episode 5, Dead Freight, is IMO the best episode of television ever.
I really love faceoff and gliding over all but dead freight is fantastic
53:15 "he's chasing a black dog in the dark and he's still somehow caught a few" is so poignant. hell yeah
Funny how Simone describes the scene where Walt admits to Jesse but in a way it would redeeming but he tortures himm with that.
@@beesmitty3435bro he instantly shot a child if you don’t think he’s a psycho you might be a psycho
@@jinxysaberk He's not shooting a random child. He's getting rid of a witness.
3:07 They will soon learn what was buried here a long time ago
Thanks for this George, Simone! Appreciate that you guys bothers to put these up.
I moved into my student accommodation today! Perfect timing to unpack to you two and some BB
Laura Fraser, the blacksmith in a Knight's tale, was soooo good in this season.
Thank god I don't have to wait a year for this part 2!
Best thumbnail you guys have done.
I like this hour binge. Perfect for a "timer" to listen all
What makes this whole show great other than the story, the characters (even when they are 'minor', have a ton of detail to them), the dialogue, the science and, well, pretty much everything. Is that this may be the best and longest portrayal of a sympathetic, even good protagonist who is an absolute villain by the end.
You need to put "The toilet is the place for all epiphanies." on a t-shirt and sell that as merch for your channel. 😅
Now THAT, is how you do a mid-season cliffhanger!
Goddamn this is the most brilliant show in history!
1:06:42 George's face my god 😂😂 its like the biggest surprise face i've ever seen
I swear Simone watched this before. She predicts EVERYTHING. But I was stoned when I watched it.
I though they'd use a magnet to frag the drive."
On screen: Industrial scrapyard magnet stacking an automobile on a pile.
If you love Mike in Breaking Bad, he’s even more badass in Better Call Saul 👌🏼
Walt: How much is this?
Skylar: I have no earthly idea.
YOU HAD ONE JOB!
