Granted, I haven't dove deep on it, but I have been hard pressed to find someone who is genuinely upset or offended by his performance. I think he did such an amazing job of showing that it's satire but also acted the hell out of the role.
I’ve said this before but this movie could definitely be made today. Just would require some to have the balls to do it because it’s funny as hell. The scene where Downey says to Sandusky to spit that shit out, is where he obviously break and start to laugh. One of my favorite scenes. Tom Cruise is great in this. One of his best roles. Downey does do the dvd commentary in character.

Excessive woke and cancel culture exacerbated by social media algorithms have done some serious damage as well. But I think this is only going to be a blip in the timeline. Things will calm down, some things will shift around and they'll find way to make money from mid sized movies again. Executives are great at finding ways to make money.

I will explain why a child is in charge. In the Blue-Ray extras, in a deleted scene, they reveal that his Father is the Drug Lord. So his sons run several processing plantations.
RDJ really did do the entire DVD commentary in character as Osiris. Plus there was a whole mini-mockumentary included in the special features, showing Kirk Lazarus going through the process of assuming the character. It's hilarious.
The adoption plot line is a commentary on how all these white celebs travel overseas to adopt children rather than the millions of children who need adoption in America.

Damn. Huge missed opportunity not having any of the full watchalongs on a Patreon or some similar site. I don't watch cut down reaction clips on RUclips, ruins the entire movie experience, but have no problem shelling out 5-10 bucks to support content creators and enjoy the full movie again.
