And the only reason Jesse tried to kill the dealers that night with a gun is because Walter ratted to Gus about Jesse wanting to kill the dealers by putting ricin in their food. Had Walt just let Jesse poison the two dealers nobody would have known. Instead, he thought about having Jesse arrested and put in jail, then decided to tell Gus. Had he remained quiet the two dealers would have died like a day later, Andrea's brother would still be alive--so no reason for Walt to later run the dealers over with his car, nobody would have suspected Jesse in their deaths except Walt, and Gus would have simply replaced the two dealers with two other guys lol.

This episode was just s small little taste of the new ultra confidant Walt, and this season is far and away the best of the series. The first four seasons were just setting the table for this final season.

But if he does not do what he does at the end of last season, Walt and likely the family, especially Hank, are all dead. Skylar is clear in understanding this. So wtf did she want him to do? A person who is bad for sure but has a code. Also, Jesse who isn't really bad but is basically a young guy who got mixed up with the wrong crowd and exploited. Still he often tries to do the right thing in bad circumstances.
