Hi Al, Thanks again for never ceasing to cheer me up. I’m all ready for my first wild camp. I fancied my local (urban) forest overnight, but depressingly everywhere I think might be a good spot is contaminated by others’ disposable barbecues, beer cans, rubbish, and for some reason they like to burn as many trees as they can. I can’t wait to get out into bigger rural spaces where there’s no sign of these disgusting people.
Thanks Gemma. You’ll have to find a quiet corner in some woods away from people. As much as I love humans there are many that mess life up for others
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Yes, Al. Thank you for your reply. I love these woods when nobody’s about. I think they’re too small to wild camp in, though, as there are footpaths everywhere. I’ll just have to keep exploring and am enjoying being able to stay outdoors for longer during the day.
it doesn't get any better than this
we are so blessed

Hey we’d love to collab! I’ve sent you an email.. loving the videos!
I absolutely love you videos Al! Talk about inspiration, I'm practically being pushed out of the door by your enthusiasm! Thanks such much for all your efforts making these films. Bloody brilliant! (Amazing woods by the way)
😂😂😂 thanks bud! I love that… ‘I’m practically being pushed out of the door by your enthusiasm’ 👌👌👌
I’m glad I have that effect!
By far the best drone shots I've seen. Panning over the lake with you walking along the bank. Outstanding.
Thanks mate! I think with a bit more practice I’ll take it to the next level 😉😬😬
@@BUSHMANandBLUE I'll sure be looking forward to seeing that.
I live in the Forest of Dean and know only too well that spending time amongst trees is a great way to relax and let the world fall away for a bit. Your video captures that really well. Mind you, we have wild boar in our woods, can be quite hard to relax when they come sniffing around your tent!
Straight away I just think hog roast! 😂😂😂 the woods are so relaxing though!
That’s easily some of the best drone work I’ve seen on RUclips
I’m getting better with it. I think my best though is either the ‘BE THE HUNTER’ video or ‘WILD CAMPING ON BEN MACDUI’😉
@@BUSHMANandBLUE I liked the reflection in the water, and the movement between trees, technology & nature combined beautifully
Cheers! The drone is pretty cool!
Thoroughly enjoyed your night out in these beautiful woods.
Thanks Glenn. Simple is always the most freeing.
lol your mum with vaseline. That's me with colloidal silver and my kids liken it to the Papa in The Big Fat Greek Wedding with his Windex.
11:09 on, that was so good. I forgot I bought a drone a few months ago and that spot makes me want to go unpack it right now!
And would totally buy that little thingy you made for that fuel stove! Great idea. Need to make some tongs or something to take your pot off the fire and pour now!
Life is indeed good when it's simple. Enjoyed this video so much. That was such a pretty spot....thank you!
Thanks Rona! I think everyone has some sort of ointment 😂. Life is good when it’s simple😊
Fantastic relaxing video and the burner stand is genius.
Cheers mate. I’ll have to design it properly 😊👊👊👊
Seeing wild Mushrooms! that is a good sign.
You’ve done it again Al , great video . Your versatility is amazing , drone footage was out of this world ! Keep them coming mate , can’t wait for the next one , top man !
Cheers Keith! Much appreciated.
Look forward to seeing where that pot stand goes, smart thinking!!
Demand seems high so I might have to produce it! Thanks.
if any one should be interested the Hilleberg Rajd was relpaced by the Hilleberg Anaris they are both based on the first Hilleberg tent called the Keb ...... another good videos i enjoy them when i get the time and for some reason i always find the evolution of channels funny so i tend to watch the old stuff and right now i have a bit of time to kill (i normally never do) i have been watching a bit of the old youtube ..... keep up the good work .... best regards from scandinavia
Thank you buddy. Keep watching 👊
@@BUSHMANandBLUE damn i made like a 100 typos in that comment hahahaha :) that was so bad
You'll have make me one of them wind guards/ pot stands, such a simple idea but looks to work very well. Nice to see you taking it easy instead of hanging off a hill side😅
Fantastic video as per usual!!! The simple moments in life are truly the best and camping just makes the noise from day to day fade into the background, I can’t thank you enough for inspiring me to get out and try it…. Life changing! Cheers Al.
Oh wow I’m so glad! It definitely can be life changing and I’m glad you now appreciate it.
Thanks mate!
Enjoyed that, really chilled 👍
Great vid Al, as usual . Youre wind screen is a great piece of kit, i think u should look into marketing it. The old tent is a beauty, to bad they dont make it anymore. Keep on hikin ,Cheers.
I might have to manufacture my design. It’s pretty good😬
everytime a leaf falls the whole universe trembles. .............superb stuff, cheers Alan.
👌 life is good when it’s simple! Thanks mate.
Lovely spot to chill, although the drone shot revealed just how precarious that huge rock was perched on the cliff lol, lovely tent too and a great idea with the bowl/windshield. ATB B&B.
Yes it’s like a cave under those rocks and one is teetering on the edge. It will definitely go in the next few hundred years!
Thanks mate.
Love this, amazing drone footage. I definitely believe in the 'keep it simple' principle. Thanks for another enjoyable and inspiring video 👍🏻
We all have… are forced into a complicated life. A simple life is definitely easier for happiness 😬. Thanks.
Great craftsmanship on ye leather and knife, Tolstoy said if ye need a knife make one lol.

Nice relaxing camp. Fantastic drone footage.
The woods are always peaceful 👌
@@BUSHMANandBLUE You find the peacefulness. You are naturally adaptable.
Superb video with amazing drone and camera work. Loved the homemade knife and Trangia pan holder come wind shield. You could definitely make a bob or two producing both to order. Also what a great idea for the laplander. Never thought of a sheaf. Thanks for sharing Al and you and Blue stay safe ATB.
I’ll have to get making them😂. The Laplander is way better when you can store it on your belt.
Thanks Tony!
Great camera work on that buddy n top trangia pan stand 👌👌👌👍👍

@@BUSHMANandBLUE too true m8 lol......
I can't really express how much I'm enjoying your videos. It's the best channel I've come across in a long time.
The tent looks very similar to the modern day Hilleberg Anaris. The difference being the Anaris is double skinned and has fully enclosed vestibules at each end. I sometimes use the flysheet alone with the footprint. If I have my poles set at 135cm then I can sit comfortably inside with plenty of headroom if I use the Helinox chair.
I've always been a bit frightened of carrying Bioethanol in the actual burner in case it leaks . Perhaps I'm being over cautious.
Once again thanks for these amazing videos. You never fail to inspire and give me new ideas.
Glad you’re enjoying the videos pal👍. I always bag the burner just in case but it’s never leaked with me… yet. And yes the anaris seems to be the new improved version.
a nice n good life - so tell me what did Blue have for dinner, a really gorgeous animal as a mate....so is the environment that you are in great pathways to follow - and the views are gorgeous too.
Blue has some wet and dry dog food when we are out. Back at home he gets more raw food in his diet. He definitely is gorgeous!
It would be interesting to put a low lying camera on top of Blue's head (you could rig something comfortable and effective for him, I'm sure) to see his perspective of you and what he sees on his own.
Yes it’s in my todo list!
Your channel is on another level now mate the Camera work and detail you put into it is outstanding buddy 👍 always pick the best places to camp to lv it atb mate karl
Thanks Karl. You know and appreciate how hard it is making videos. Next level is what I’m after!😬. I’ll slowly raise the RUclips bar 😂
@@BUSHMANandBLUE mate your killing it honest 🙌🙌🙌❤️
Cheers mate! I’m trying.
You’re a breath of fresh air buddy! I stumbled across your channel, I’ve watched 3 of your uploads already. I think your gonna be big on RUclips. Nothing better than coming home after a busy day in the restaurant and chilling watching this great new channel.
Well I’m glad you stumbled! Enjoy the rest of my videos my friend and there will always be more to come. Thanks Al.

Lovely to see a birra greenery, made for some great drone footage too! ATB Al 👍
Cheers mate.
What a beautiful film Al. Nothing grounds me more than a woodland walk, so calming and peaceful. You captured this beautiful woodland perfectly. We really do have a stunning country dont we 😊
Thanks and yes we do! We should all appreciate it more.
Nice one bushman good for the soul I bet 👍
Always!
When do have haven that time. You are a maziing
You are so right...it doesn't always have to be these big productions-the dayhikes and "short'n'sweet" little nights in a tent is just as good for your soul. Going for a couple of dayhikes up on some small mountains these next couple of days, and I know I'm gonna thoroughly enjoy them! Snow is coming soon, so I have to use every opportunity I get😊 Lovely to see you and Blue again-as always🤗💃🇧🇻😊
Thanks! People don’t see how easy it is to get out as you don’t need it to be the big adventure to get the same feeling. I do love the woods though!
@@BUSHMANandBLUE it's so easy to get out-you just have to make it a priority, not something you do when there's nothing else on the agenda...a couple of hours, in a forest or up a hill,- it works wonders for your head and your soul ♥️I live in the largest wooded area in all of Norway, so I grew up climbing trees and running around in the woods like some crazy wild child💃🤪😂It's still the place where I feel the safest😊
I’m exactly the same! Away from the towns and cities too. I’m definitely a country boy!
@@BUSHMANandBLUE me too(country GIRL, that is!🤪😂), born and raised and still living in 'the middle of nowhere' with the wilderness on my doorstep. Love it!😊

Really enjoyable video, I’m slowly getting my kit together but I’ll get there eventually.
Love the windbreak idea and top job regarding the knife, I don’t know if you’re aware of Sandy over on the Jacklore channel. He makes knives and is into bushcraft and wild camping, interesting man.
Cheers Al, and Blue of course.
Just make sure you ask for specific camping gear for Christmas! 😉 there is obviously items of all prices. I like the jacklore knives!
wow! " I am going to test the sleeping pad and see just how low it can go"- Thanks for the class! The other approach would be, let me take as much R value as i can just in case, yet yours is the one you learn from, brilliant!
Definitely and much appreciated mate for understanding that ethos. I’ll be honest with my verdicts too. 😉😬
Hi mate . We failed the bob Graham round . I feel so ill mate . Had to call it the weather was horrible at the top . I will give it another go in spring . Keep up the videos mate
Awwwwww mate! It’s tough on a good day! Well done though and it’s always still there😉
Thanks mate
Isn't nature fantastic. Big skies or secluded spots in a forest. All have there unique charm. Nice to see you so chilled out and not telling the world "I LUV IT" in 60 mph wind and rain or sharing your tea with 50,000 midges. 🙂 When is the next episode of the Yurt build?
😂 I do love it! Next yurt one soon. But I need to actually finish it off. Just the last bits to finish.
We have the trangia spirit burner, well loved bit of kit bought about 6 years ago.
Would totally love to buy a bowl windbreaker off you!
😂 I’ll have you start making them!
Watching your explores, has shown me just how many little things are great to add to our kit! Safety things, MORE STOVES 🤣🤣 Hubby is the stove man! When we used to camp, there were no ultralight items back then! As for backpacks, I'm not going to say how many we have bought recently 😉 I'm still catching up with all your videos but, I'm getting there and hubby is studying mapping daily! We got lost twice last week! One of which he worked out and me the other!
Excellent! There is always new shiny kit to buy😂😂😂😉. I like to test as much as I can out to find the best products. Keep safe!!!
@@BUSHMANandBLUE It's amazing how we learn so much, as we go along too, by making little mistakes or, finding things too heavy so, buying light alternatives! For example....Little lightweight bottles for shampoos etc! Its surprising how far 60ml of these items go, if your not one to fill your hand, when its not needed! Ohhhhhh that didn't sound right!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
You should keep that design to yourself buddy it’s got serious potential...... awesome video
Thanks mate. Well you saw it here first!😉
Nice hike and camp. Thank you for sharing and wishing you a wonderful day. Take care
Brilliant, love woodland, especially this time of year. Great therapeutic video, 🙏

Your enthusiasm is contagious and I always want to go on another wildcamp asap after watching you. But I guess thats your goal 😀 "Thanks to you" I just bought my self a Abisko Lite 1, you convinced me it was the tent for me. Brilliant I’m so glad I’ve helped you. Might be a bit chaotic with more than one dog 😂. In summer though they can sleep outside no problem.
Try making the windshield out of stainless steel foil so it rolls up and fits inside the pot a bit like an upside down storming norman cone. Look on Zen stoves for lots of ideas.

Cheers Tom! I love the peace in the woods!
Love the idea of the shield for the Trangia burner. I've been making up a small Trangia set up using their small rectangular mess tin, as much as I like my pocket rocket and jetboil sometimes I just prefer the simplicity of a spirit burner. I've made a small simple stand for my burner to be more stable on, if you imagine the slot together pot stand you are using in the clip but reversed to fit on the bottom with a recess to hold the base of the burner secure. In a nutshell a bit like the legs you fit to gas canisters, I've made mine out of 2mm aluminium plate and its in two halves, about 25mm x 120mm.
Interesting! Loads of items I feel I can add to the design to improve it. Especially after using them and working out what doesn’t work. Cheers mate.
@@BUSHMANandBLUE even tried making a heater with mine based on the Tea Light and Plant Pot idea, failed the first attempt but I'll keep trying. Would never use it for that but if there's an itch I'll scratch it. Just shared your video with your Dad it was brilliant.

Simply...wow!! Joined recently and this video is my favorite!! “ A good life is a simple life...” so agree and damn, as others have commented, what incredible drone footage. I’ve watched a lot of other videos, as am an experienced backpacker ( Yosemite, Sierras and Sequoias), and believe this vid is one of the most artistic I’ve ever seen. Truly... a whole new experience with your drone footage!! Thanks and please let me know what sleeping bag that was as didn’t see the link?? Rock on, Bushman!!! And, Blue!
Wow and thanks back at you😂! I don’t really watch other channels, only a few, and I just admire the different styles. I just hope people admire my style😬. The drone definitely adds too it though. The sleeping bag is the Naturehike link in the description. For winter I’d get the warmer one being the ULG700 rather than mine being the ULG400 although it’s good to freezing especially with a decent mat.

Just started some wild camping this year on account of my Munro Bagging and recently subscribed to your channel. Really enjoyed all the videos I’ve seen so far although you’re costing me a small fortune… those Keb trousers are first on my list. Loved yesterday’s video although I’m racking my brains as to where you camped, I’m guessing Brimham Rocks?
Keep the vids coming, I for one am finding them informative and entertaining. Btw wish I’d seen your Ben Macdui video a week or two sooner as I camped about half a mile away from the pitch you chose by the Lochan (not a tarn… minor correction) and my pitch was rubbish.
I’m a Yorkshireman living in Scotland and it’s good to hear a Northern twang, makes me miss Swaledale where I grew up.
Cheers
Thanks mate. Those keb trousers are great but cost a fair bit sometimes you can find them in the sales. Yes that Ben Macdui pitch was pretty awesome but it’s still there for you next time👌. Certain locations I won’t mention. I’m sure you understand. Enjoy the rest of my videos! Next one might get you spending more 😂😂😂
Wow Al, your drone footage just gets better and better. The water shots & how it followed you & Blue walking was just wonderful. That one sequence where the drone spins above the water I actually thought was a star scape. I'm still tempted to go camping but the thought of 14hrs of darkness...... what do you do? stargazing, contemplation, books?
Thanks mate much appreciated! I thought the same with the stars. It would look good as a transition in to the stars. Get out camping… It’s only dark when you close your eyes 😉
Can you tell, what is the actual comfort temperature for this ulg400 bag? Cannot find any information except of sellers site
-4 comfort although I’d always just make sure you have good clothing to add to it if needed👍
Fantastic vid mate.
Stunning woodland and great footage .
Brilliant chilled camp 👌👌.
I love the pot idea.
What type of chair is that ?
Great being able to use it to lean on .
I Would love one of those.
Atb Graham
Thanks mate. The chair isn’t made anymore but it’s brilliant. Ive shown it in other videos better. It’s the Alite monarch chair.
Cheers Graham.
@@BUSHMANandBLUE
Cheers I have just seen one on eBay bidding 41 quid currently 🤔🤔
Annoyingly a bought mine new about 5 years ago for £27 in a sale. There are not many chairs you can lay down in your tent though and sit against.
That’s the monarch chair which I have too. It’s slightly different. (Watch my vid on chairs). Still awesome but you’ll see why I prefer the monarch.
Absoloutley stonking. SO beautiful. I'd never thought of using a chair that way in a tent! I would ask you which tarn that was? But I understand if you want to keep schtum.
Being a wet blanket, I tend to be concerned about ethical practises, working conditions and animal welfare issues etc. when coming across 'bargains'... Great price, but at what cost? You seem like the sort of ethically minded bloke though who would see that as a priority (leave no trace etc.) so I hope my concerns are unfounded.
Certain locations I won’t advertise but the more obvious common places I’m happy to mention. Fjallraven are an ethically produced brand which adds to the price tag but my favourite brand of choice. I’m just trying to get to the point I can live off grid😊
@@BUSHMANandBLUE Yeah.. I respect your plan to live off-grid. As you say, things are easier when they're simple!
Re the ethical views, I'll never forget an undercover film report by an animal rights organisation about the live plucking of baterry farmed geese who are jampacked into enormous warehouses who never see the light of day, without even enough room to turn around, pumped full of growth hormones so their skeletons weren't mature & couldn't support their bodyweight so had broken legs etc. so were in constant agony and distress. It was so upsetting to see. Certain countries are known for their appalling record when it comes to workers rights, environmental record, animal welfare etc. I'm not commenting on your particular bag, just the market generally.
The world generally! Sounds horrific. Brands are definitely realising more so what is right but there will always be demand for the negative ways as population rises. Sad.
Hi Al, could you put a link on for the bowl I cant seem to see it on the IKEA website. Enjoying the videos keep them coming buddy 👍
The bowl I had years. Any stainless bowl will do.
@@BUSHMANandBLUE whats the diameter of the top bud cos its perfect? 🤣
I’m not sure. I’m currently not at home. I’d guess at 140mm
That panning drone shot was a work of art! Was that Dewerstone? Used to climb it back when I was young and nimble…Many happy hours sat looking down at those trees….Subbed.
It isn’t Dewerstone but looks similar just a couple hundred miles away😂. A work of art? 😊 I’m hoping to get better with drone. 😉. Welcome and enjoy my channel.
Great content as always Al, and some fantastic drone footage from the reflection is it the mini or the mini 2 that you use ? ATB Danny
Mini 2. It’s rather delicate but dies the job. Cheers Danny.
@@BUSHMANandBLUE I have the mini 1 or mini pretty good piece of kit tho 👍🏻
