It's amazing how you can be in your tent for so long whilst keeping things so interesting , great content . Brilliant video footage scrambling over those rocks , the camera never left you .. Keep them coming ,Top man
Good to see you in the Peaks, Kinder Scout is an amazing place. I wouldn't take my dog up there, but he's not a mountain goat like Blue! Hope he's ok. Thanks for another great video.
I’m a simple man. I see a new video from Al and Blue, I put the kettle on and enjoy with a nice cup of tea. Great work pal, hope to catch you out on the trails one day!
I am now 94 most of my walking in The Peak District It brought back memories it’s not always like that hope you go back again loyd of great places different than the Lake District Fred
As everyone else is saying, great seeing you in the Peaks! Woolpacks is by far my favourite wild camp spot although it’s busy, practically a campsite in summer these days.
Heading back home (North Uist in Outer Hebrides) from seeing family in Cambridgeshire, had to go for hike and a nights wild camping up T'north (Lake District) en route. All cosy in me sleeping bag and listening to the rain, I thought I'd watch a couple of your videos - thought you summed it up nicely in this one...Living the dream! Absolutely!
True the weather stinks yet you still manage to produce another great vlog. Those conditions were obviously massively challenging but Alan, you just take it all in your stride. Thank you for another very entertaining episode.
Just done Mam Tor, Hollins Craoos, Back Tor, Lose Hill etc and back down to Castleton today. Beyond Muddy and claggy ! Great video Al - good to see you out and about in the Peak District ❤️👍🏻
I've been walking many times across the Roaches and Ramshaw Rocks near Leek and Dragons Back near Buxton. Used to be my backyard before moving up to Cumbria 12 years ago.
That was Kinder Scout you were on btw - my local hill 45 mins away! A good tip for a brilliant breakfast back in Edale is Newfold Farm campsite cafe. Good food in Ye Olde Nag’s Head pub too.
The classic gate gag, always makes me chuckle. Love all those weathered rocks in the Peaks, yeah very like Brimham Rocks, I remember visiting them when we were staying in Nidddddderdale as we loved to pronounce it.
That was an excellent excursion, Al. Filming while you were traversing the rocky areas must have been so difficult! You sure captured the beauty of the landscape. As always, well done! 🇨🇦
Your videos are great! Blue is amazing and your kit reviews are spot on. You know what I like the best though.. it's when you urge people to just be present! Just to stop and pay attention to everything. We all seem to need constant distractions :)
Good to see you out in my neck of the woods, I’ve walked up that way and camped on top of Kinder a few times myself. Also glad to see you didn’t bring your potty mouth with you from the Lake District video last week 😂
Plenty of good spots up there including Woolpacks. And yes most of it is just Peat. Welcome to the Peaks! Like you say. Not quite the Lakes but its pretty good! Stratos is my goto bag for minimalistic summer camping or bivvying. Decent and tough bag.
I think climbers years ago christened that area of weirdly shaped rocks 'Whipsnade', after the zoo, thinking of the rocks as surreal animals. Love Kinder Scout. There's so much to explore: Grindsbrook, Kinder Downfall, the Kinder river, Kinder Gates, etc., etc. Fantastic under snow.
No way my 68 year old legs could keep up with your pace. But its fun going along virtually and remembering when I'd have given you a run for your money! Well, maybe I was never as beastly as you, but I was in the neighborhood.
You got a typical kinder welcome! I'm from Sheffield, it's on my doorstep so to speak and had many a drenching up there, apart from one proper scare trying to take a shortcut down a really narrow ravine in bad weather cos I was desperate to get off and down! Got stuck and I think you can guess how I felt. Ended up going back up to the summit even more wet, knackered and with legs full of lactic acid....the joys of kinder on a bad day....😂
Hi I walked up there last year and Blackstone edge I love my walks not as fit as i was years ago but still go between 5/12 miles best time ever enjoy your videos pal 👍🏼
If you want a healthy crouton style crunch then smash up some Nairn's Gluten Free Original Oatcakes. I break them in the packet and then mix them in with veg and tuna-mayo. Some wonderful scenery, up there. Thank you for another beautiful video.
Al - the first thing in my car at the moment are my gaiters!! Hasn't stopped raining for months where I am! That tent looks a bit flappy for me, I have a Lanshan 2 Pro and it's much tighter than that by the look of it (but condensation does need to be taken car of)
After watching (and enjoying) many of your videos, I managed to source the gsi minimalist to pair with my soloist, after a few months of use, can I say what a great addition it is!, thought I’d share that with you (😴) what an amazing little setup it really is 👍 love the sippy cup in a tent…. I’ve been minus the tea/coffee stains a little while now! Another enjoyable video 👌
Crikey I am glad I found a pitch on Tuesday night as I was up there then, its a busy spot Woolpacks - you were definitely moving faster than my ode body 😄 but I like to think back to the days when fear wasn't an option as also been in some scary spots in my younger days in the Alps and Himalayas - some interesting kit you are using, I have never heard of PH Designs so will be checking them out - thanks
You were very unlucky Al. In 25yrs of exploring Kinder I've never known it to be claggy, wet and definitely no boggy ground😂. It's always a pleasure listening to your thoughts about life. 🐐 ❤
Great video. I went to the peak district about ten years ago. It was in summer, I remember it being dryer than now but still plenty of peat bogs (like Dartmoor😂). I really like the down jacket, but I'm not sure about half of a sleeping bag!
Still amazes me Al how much you can fit into a rucksack. But then again I have seen first hand how much the PHD kit compresses down. Watching that sleeping bag disappear into the Thermarest stuff back was like watching a magic trick. Now you see it, now you don’t 🤣🤣
There's some fun routes up kinder scout, crowden Clough, grindsbrook Clough, red brook Clough, upper red brook/nether red brook etc. there's a lot of good wildcamps spots, especially on the quieter northern edge. Best leaving the scrambles up the Clough's for when it's been warm and dry for a while though lol.
I’m not familiar with this area but I think the stone was carved with millions of years of high winds which sandblasted the rocks forming peculiar shapes.
I have the PHD half-bag, but with the added draft tube upper-half. That extension tube is handy as you can have it over body for more wind protection, or over the lower half for more condensation protection or just kept rolled up to be similar to what you have. Works well in summer / warmer seasons. I'm with the upper body insulation as what I found was after a long hike day I tend to run colder in the evening so need more upper-body insulation outside of the tent than my average insulation needs. My upper-body insulation not like yours, it's an accident of 15 years of purchases I used a PHD down smock vest and (not available) Paramo insulated sleeves. The sleeves help with winter hands dexterity and if I'm thrashing around in my sleep my arms in/out of bag the arms are more likely to hit a puddle/condensation than my torso (held up off puddles by the pad). I looked at my kit bought over last 15 years current pricing.. ouch... inflation. Stoves: surprised you not gone for remote canister stoves. As you don't need the canister stabiliser net weight is added around 58g and helps lower the pot height for exactly the situation you showed.
I have a couple remote stoves but they aren’t as stable but are better in very cold conditions. The PHD gear is top notch and I’m sure you’ll still get years of use out of it👊
Enjoy your PHD kit, mine are now 12 years old and as-new, quality lasts. I know you're in down uppers but as I'm using upper for outdoors insulation I tend to err on synthetic upper insulation and the down halfbag. The PHD Sigma long jacket is well worth investigation if not tried, although as I happen to have the Paramo Torres Sleeves the PHD Sigma vest makes a good pairing. Keep the videos coming you're a great bloke with great videos. @@BUSHMANandBLUE
Ah the Peak, my early stomping ground, and easily accessible to Mancunians and other such northern breeds. Millstone grit is lovely to climb and there's no shortage of great places to go boldering too. Stay out of the peat bogs at all costs !!!!
Besides going to Matlock on a school residential, I've also never visited the Peak District. I don't know why but I just find it much easier to travel north from where I live. More sceneic route I guess. When you were up on those rocks, my first thought was, they are not a patch on Brimham Rocks. 😅 Some of them did look rather cool though, especially the one with the peaked cap. Nice to see you somewhere new. Thanks Al. 👊
Clarty! Grim! Those views would look so much better if the sun was belting down! I lived in Derbyshire Dales for quite a few years. I prefer walking along dales rather than up Peaks! I look forward to joining you up every hill I haven’t been up 😎
Perhaps I should rephrase that as absolutely loads of flat well drained pitches that are ideal go to's when the rest of the plateu is under water, the rock you called the frog we know as the upturned hand, is actually out of the woolpacks.
Great to see you my neck of the woods 😊many good camps up there. Great video again. Just not sure of you hot drink selection 😄 one of the other in my opinion. Chocolate last drink of the night 👍🏻
Nice one mate, love it up there. Familiar territory for us. There's a couple of cracking cycle climbs there too if you happen to bring your bike at some point. Winnats pass and Mam Nick are both brutal as well as the almost impossible Bamford Clough a little further down the road 😎👍
Why is Blue's camera man wandering about on his own?

Brilliant 😂

Other Blue Crue members are as soft as me. I knew it!... I feel at home here! 🤣
Nice to see you out in my back yard. Great video as always!!! We've had some strange weather of late that's for sure!
Your back yard looks ace, bit big though, mine only takes 30 mins to cut the grass, then it’s feet up, and World superbikes on the tv 👍😜🇮🇲
@ManxAndy now your talking, world supervises!!!!
Fantastic to see you in The Peaks!! ❤
It's amazing how you can be in your tent for so long whilst keeping things so interesting , great content . Brilliant video footage scrambling over those rocks , the camera never left you .. Keep them coming ,Top man

Brilliant Fred and I’m sure you’ll have loads of amazing memories. Keep going old boy. Amazing 👍👍👍
Bout time you came down South a bit!! My favourite place in the Peaks!!
You are so chilled out because you can deal with all weather
Clever sleeping system, very well thought out.Fascinating camping tips which are so simple yet so necessary.Well done, happy camping.
Rain or no rain. Just wonderful as always :)

As everyone else is saying, great seeing you in the Peaks! Woolpacks is by far my favourite wild camp spot although it’s busy, practically a campsite in summer these days.
Anything but boring, Al! :) When I can't get out, you'll do for me... Vicarious camping! Love it! Thank you, as always.
You never fail to put a smile on my face.
😂 ace mate👍
Good to see you in the Peaks, was going to camp there last night before the weather warning for rain. As you can see it’s muddy enough!!!
I’ve become addicted to your videos!! Blue is a beautiful dog too ❤
Missed Blue & hope he’s ok? Enjoyed the video - some interesting rocks around there 👍
Love it! Happy to be along for your journey!
Cheers. I’m glad you could join me👊
Good to see you in my back yard!
When you went through the gate 😂😂 fab as always Al. What a beautiful part of the country 😍 looking forward to the next one! ❤
I’m just an idiot😂
Brilliant, love the stones up on kinder, great to see you over in the peak district. Love the videos 💪
Another great camp! Thanks for all you do to keep us appeased.

Thanks Tracy. I take life in my stride🤷🏻♂️😬
Thanks for another great video. Pretty area despite the dark skys. Blue must have set this one out.
Love your videos, Al. Keep them coming!
Camped in that spot loads of times brilliant spot to chill out

Oh my, those rocks are fantastic!
I would say we bother watching because when we can't be out there ourselves, we are out there via you.
Thank you for another great video.
I’m glad you can join me☺️
loved this camp Al , nice to see some new kit and you experiencing a new location, looking forward to the next 1 , hopefully Blue will be out

good to see you playing out in the peaks
I bet its beautiful there on a lovely sunny day wow that scenery is amazing ..
It most certainly is my friend!
You’re at the top of the world.
Always love your videos. You put yourself in very testy situations. Keep it up and keep it safe.
That was an excellent excursion, Al. Filming while you were traversing the rocky areas must have been so difficult! You sure captured the beauty of the landscape. As always, well done! 🇨🇦
Thanks ☺️
What a cool landscape and I think the tent fit in well! I love Osprey packs, I hope yours goes well!
Great vid as always, good to see you playing out in the peaks 👍
Kinder scout! Lovely part of the world. To me, looks like another world
lovely to see you enjoying kinder scout 😀

Yes it’s definitely how I’ve always kept a happy soul.

Great video, I am relatively new to your videos but completely hooked. Roll on the next one.
Welcome😬
Good to see you visiting Kinder mate. Not been there myself in ages. Hope you enjoyed it. :)
Another interesting video, the boulders were brilliant the hot chocolate and coffee interesting and blue would be manky if he'd gone
Great video totally enjoyed it xx
Next time you come down, get to Blue John Cavern, lad, Castleton, sorry you dropped on bad weather on your first trip down.

Yeah I like them. They used to have a cheese one but I can’t ever find it.
Al - the first thing in my car at the moment are my gaiters!! Hasn't stopped raining for months where I am! That tent looks a bit flappy for me, I have a Lanshan 2 Pro and it's much tighter than that by the look of it (but condensation does need to be taken car of)
It’s a copy of the Lanshan but definitely flappy although it wasn’t pitched well as I squeezed it in

PHD is designed for high altitude ascents right through to multi day endurance events. Ultralight weight👌
@BUSHMANandBLUE I do long distance walks now with light gear so should be the type of thing that fits my style cheers
I love your videos bud, I have an 8 year old son and a black Labrador and these inspire me to get him outdoors. Keep up the good work👍☘️

Great video really enjoyed, I stayed there for the 1st time last month and had a great but cold time
Those boulders had some amazing shapes..as you say weather been all over the place last few weeks. Very mild for Feb
Naw… the gate gag was funny. I totally LOLled.
