An amazing camp out in the mountains of the Lake District. A place to reset and feel in peace. A calculated adventure with many contingencies of which I nearly took the first one by not camping! Strong winds, well over 60mph, that I struggled to stand up in and at times sat down before I proceeded. Walking through the storm and coming out the other side where I pitched my tent and relaxed back with Blue and took in the epic scenery.

Well said Kevin, I registered my RUclips channel in 2006 at 16 years old. I've seen all the trends but Al and Blue have really motivated me to do better and ENJOY our days in this spinning rock. It's easy as you start your 30s just replicating the "safe years" and finding that ok. It's not though at all 👍. Al and blue keep having adventures you glorious bastards 😊

@@BUSHMANandBLUE no... those two storm nights were more than i have ever experienced ...However just to say that my mountaineering buddies were part of the Bridgend Mountain Rescue Team ....Our weekends were spent always camping in the Brecon Beacons or Mid or North Wales ...My V W golf... was the Team Taxi ....for our weekend adventures xx .When i got home my Dad made me get changed out of my gear in the coal house ...... Happy days .......

Loved the drone shots, the music, the energy, life messages aaah I could feel my heart rate slowing and deep calm setting in. Heaven. Looking forward to being a patron too, what a treat :D Incidentally I started my South West Coast Path journey 2 days before Storm Eunice with Storm Franklin. The day before Eunice I was safe on a north facing cliff path but with a mile to go to my destination, the path turned to the west and the wind flung me hard into a stone wall (bruised down my side) Could not stand up and had to crawl. Abandoned the path, way too dangerous to carry on with some points too close to the edge. Made it to a road and hitchhiked to the nearest pub, abandoned camping and slept in an Exmoor bothy. Needless to say no coast path walking in the 100 mph winds on the coast path the next day!!! Love your adventures.

With your shake powder, make a paste first with a small amount of water and the powder, then top up to desired amount of water. It won't go lumpy then 😊

I'II preface this by saying I ain't no fanboy type but many thanks for a really enjoyable video. I love getting out in the snow and learned lots (again!) from watching your experience: constantly assessing conditions, knowing your limits, making senisble decisions, proper gear (and food) provision, pitching choice; but most of all keeping a positive and cheerful mindset in challenging conditions. For me, that's what it's all about.
Looks like a lot of effort went into making this, I watch a lot of similar vids but this is on a different level, it's more than entertaiment, it's advice, it's education, it's soul food man. My only criticism? Your choice of tea, what's wrong good old PG ... only joking! See Blue was his usual surefooted self, what a partner to have, a great dog.

@@BUSHMANandBLUE You don't use special effects! Plus, your videos bring the outdoors to so many people who perhaps can't get out. While those who can are encouraged to give it a try. I love the positivity and passion you have for life, it's infectious. About 30 years ago, I regularly camped in a tent; Wales, the Highlands etc, although it was always a campsite. I've been researching camping gear and if I can muster the courage, I'd like to try camping in my local forest. I miss the solitude of the mountains.

Please tell me you were joking about peeing into stream contaminating water supply for other campers. Definitely a no no . Rules are pee or Bury poo at least 50 metres away from all water sources. 💧 👍

That was really good. Have seen pack horses but never a pack dog, Your dog looks like he really enjoys theses outings. My son had a border collie and he was brilliant but preferred to sleep outside even in the winter. You have a really good companion to go on these wild camping jaunts. Well done..

Dude, you are nuts! There is no way I would be out in that wind. I moved to Southern California because I was sick of extreme cold, snow and wind.
I use to dig myself out of deep snow in -10 F every morning to get to work , and then dig myself back into my driveway. 15 yards in and 15 out Six days a week. Then 47 miles to and from work many times in unplowed snow, all winter long.

Me and a mate camped at red tarn in the snow. He wanted to test out his new bivi bag. But soon chickened out and got in tent with me. Lucky i had a 2 man tent! He would have frozen
