Think that "tent" would be great in a house during a winter power outage. Inside a big tent during winter camping. Kids would love it as a fort. I think it will come in handy.
Inside one of those mesh hexagonal pop-up gazebos with a floor and rainfly.. I have 10 and 13' models that I can't wait to take cold camping for a week to test my new diesel heater. This with a cot would be perfect for that.
Years ago I learned it is much easier to drag a long limb back to camp and cut it up there opposed to carrying back armloads of unwieldy firewood from a distance. An added benefit is you have sawdust in camp to use to help start the fire.
The fact you always camp with a different makes me tune in everytime. I get bored of watching the generic tent camping sometimes. Sometimes I want to see an unusual camp, and your videos hit the spot everytime. Thank you for being different
My husband was an incredible cook and from what I've seen of your videos so are you. We used to tent camp a lot (younger years...lol) andy husband had a trunk that he made into a portable kitchen. Filled with all his tools and spices. However, right now I'm really hating you..... I'm now craving nachos. Sadly my husband passed 6 yrs ago. I dearly miss him, but I also dearly miss his cooking. I have the Decathlon Air Bed base's and you have to put a lot more pressure in them using a high pressure hand pump. I believe about 6psi. They are basically made of the same material as you get with Air Tents. I use them for camping with the family and they are so comfortable when inflated properly.
That 'bed' looks quite a number! One thing I would want underneath it all times is a reflecting pad to keep some body heat and try to stop cold coming from the ground.. What a unique setup you had there, I didn't even know that such exists for bunkbeds, lol!

Nice one mate. I've done similar down here in Australia, for both hot and cold camping. But using wool. I basically made up a liner to my tent, bigger than that though.. in the heat, you want plenty of room inside, so it cuts the radiant heat of the sun, but still enough air flow so body heat doesn't build up. It amazed me what a difference it made. 35 degrees outside, and a noticeable drop inside, like being under a shady tree. In the cold, less room inside, pitching the tent lower like your setup, and closing up the openings. I picked up the idea from a mediaeval reenactment camp. Some of those guys were using wool. A BIG SHOUT OUT to you Andy from the UNITED STATES PENNSYLVANIA. I appreciate what you do by camping and cooking on the camp fire 🔥 I do hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself
What a great camping idea. Makes me wanna go camping. Haven't done it for years. I used to live in the lake District where I've been camping in the woods as a child plenty of times. Getting fresh air and building a tent or shelter and collecting wood 🪵🪓. Love your channel.
When camping I buried a hole, threw in hot coals on bottom, put in my cast iron roaster that was a beef roast, potators, carrots, etc., then put in more hot coals around & on top to bake..sooo good....
Those bed bases are really good and very sturdy, but you need a good pump to get the pressure right, you have to put a fair bit of air in them. Great video.
If you added cornmeal instead of oats you’d have Scrapple. Form it into a block, slice and brown. An old time southern American favorite. Another great adventure with Andy!
Yummy! My Nanny used to make me scrapple for breakfast and I'd beg to have it for supper too! I haven't had any for so long. I'm in Indiana, Nanny lived in Virginia. I've never seen scrapple in any grocery here. Thanks for a tasty memory!
I love how you just casually lug a great big Dutch oven out into the woods with you 😂 But seriously, I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing what you’re cooking up as well as all your ingenious camping setups.
So you popped on my feed today and now I am binge watching your videos. Can't stop. Love the format. Relaxed personality. No annoying music. Great images. Food made over a fire. Testing gear. Just too good...😅
I Love that you try all these different things. I feel a smile on my face because of your videos. You are human like us all and we all make mistakes and carryon. I look forward to your videos-thank you!
Fantastic video, fantastic food fantastic cooking keep the great work up your friend Luke from the UK 🇬🇧 you cheered me up after a very nervous day and might start my new job today, thank you for the great video
I need a Dutch oven.. I remember at the cub scout camp we went to with all the families in one big camp out, and it was always the same thing every year. We went down a line and filled a foil sheet with ground beef, frozen potatoes and frozen veggie mix, seasoned it, wrapped it and cooked it on the coals. And then for dessert, this one dad/scoutmaster in the troop would get his enormous Dutch oven and make this amazing apple cake recipe, nestled it in the coals and covered it and then when it was done everyone got a piece. It was so good. And then the morning when we were leaving, someone would provide a buttload of store-bought pastries like donuts, croissants, Danishes, like a _mountain_ of boxed pastries, so no one had to make any breakfast and we could focus on packing up. I would eat so many danishes and no one would tell us to stop, even our parents because it was just so many pastries they usually had to send some home with people.
I love this story! We did the same thing as Girl Guides. Foil dinners. We didn’t get an apple cake though. We usually made a dessert with graham wafers, pudding, and bananas in layers. That was good too. 😊😊

Even if it's a Sasquatch banging a log against a tree?
@@simonh6371 I personally prefer that sound to normal wood knocking sounds lol.
Never a dull moment with all the new bits to check out.
A BIG SHOUT OUT to you Andy from the UNITED STATES PENNSYLVANIA.
I appreciate what you do by camping and cooking on the camp fire 🔥
I do hope you feel better soon. Take care of yourself
I hope that you are feeling better. I really like your videos. Saying a big Hi from Texas
Thanks for keeping your videos honest and fun! Love the new product discoveries and your opinions on them. Keeping it fun from Colorado!
The insulated tent/sleeping cube lol would be great for wall tent camping in extreme cold too. Or cave camping.
I second that. I’d worry about wind driven rain turning things into a soggy mess.
Might be good for my solo, low key “glamping” plan.
I doubt its THAT insulated
@@marko7969 true but every bit of insulation helps. That's why I said in a wall tent or cave. It's just a little bit more.
Van camping also in the cold. That tent would be great for that.
Hi Andy. Watching from Indonesia as solo camper too. I love watching your video. Thanks for sharing new adventure to us and warm greeting 🥰🥰🥰🔥🔥
I TOTALLY LOVE your videos!!! Thank you (from Texas) for bringing us along on your adventures and product reviews😊
What a great camping idea. Makes me wanna go camping. Haven't done it for years. I used to live in the lake District where I've been camping in the woods as a child plenty of times. Getting fresh air and building a tent or shelter and collecting wood 🪵🪓. Love your channel.
Andy, I have been watching you for some time and enjoyed each video. Not only a good camper, but a good cook also.
"What is he doing now?" Ah, that made me laugh my socks off!
Nothing like reality of wind. Love the video
I had literally just said ‘what’s he up to’ when he said that 😂😂😂
It reminded me of 1 of them lunch boxes that u put hot n cold stuff in 😂😂😂
not me, didn't even laugh at all 😅
Andy, you brighten up our viewing. From the thumbnail, it looked like you were sleeping in a hot tub. As always, a pleasurable viewing 👏
Hi Andy, I got the patches I ordered from your merch store. Thank you so much. My sons love them. They affectionately refer to you as Uncle Andy.😊❤
When camping I buried a hole, threw in hot coals on bottom, put in my cast iron roaster that was a beef roast, potators, carrots, etc., then put in more hot coals around & on top to bake..sooo good....
Called that a clam bake when I visited cape cod in the 50’s.
Andy is one of those great persons who knows what its all about camping an living: Take risks and HAVE FUN!!! 👍👍👍😉😉😉🥰
Those bed bases are really good and very sturdy, but you need a good pump to get the pressure right, you have to put a fair bit of air in them. Great video.
Bingo
If you added cornmeal instead of oats you’d have Scrapple. Form it into a block, slice and brown. An old time southern American favorite. Another great adventure with Andy!
Good idea, we’ll try making blood sausages next time using your cornmeal suggestion. Thanks.
Yummy! My Nanny used to make me scrapple for breakfast and I'd beg to have it for supper too! I haven't had any for so long. I'm in Indiana, Nanny lived in Virginia. I've never seen scrapple in any grocery here. Thanks for a tasty memory!
12+ mins in and im still having big orange palpitations 😂. Love it all....Happy Valentines to you and all who love you. ❤ 👍😎🇨🇦 🏕🧡
😂
I love how you just casually lug a great big Dutch oven out into the woods with you 😂
But seriously, I really enjoy watching your videos and seeing what you’re cooking up as well as all your ingenious camping setups.
That was a really great episode Andy. Just Brilliant! Thanks for the Video.
I love the nacho's in Canada we make it with mince, so a great new idea, Thanks Andy !
I just got done eating bread pudding with peaches from the oven and it was amazing triggered by watching one of your videos ❤
Good to see you again Andy…
Remember, if you ever buy a _Le Creuset_ one, they have a superb comprehensive guarantee, and will repair it pretty much forever.
For nothing.
I've built up a collection of several different sizes and types - treated with respect, they will last you a lifetime. 🤍
Good story, I remember doing that at Girl Scout camp in the early 60’s, maybe 50’s.
@@elizabethandersen6068 I make that for my family a lot because my mom made it a lot when I was a kid, I use 'Nilla Wafers, bananas, pudding and whipped cream, I added the whipped cream as an adult because I love the lightness contrasting with the rich pudding :) so good.
@@221b-Maker-Street ooh, good to know, thank you!
You always knock it out of the park with your camping videos Andy.
well it was vey interesting, I enjoyed it all Thanks see you in the next one xx
Hi I’ve been watching your videos for a few months now, have to admit I wasn’t keen but the more I’ve watched the more I’ve loved them! I love the foods that you cook, absolutely incredible some of the things that you make. I’ve also placed an order for a 3 pack of your sauces. Right up my street! Anyway I just wanted to reach out and say thank you, your videos are a real treat and I look forward to the uploads.
It's Wednesday another great video from Andy hope you make a speedy recovery get well soon take care 😊
Hats off to you - again, Andy! That cuboid would be great in a wall tent or inside a van! Thanks for sharing!
Ya..great idea for privacy if you have to share a dorm or any room. I don't want anyone watching me sleep lol
Happy Valentines Day Andy!❤Nothing says love and coziness like eating a whole tasty roast and then cuddling up in a nice padded orange lunchbox😂Love ya❤🇨🇦Say hi to Mark for me when you see him?Lol sure he will giggle about it too😂Love Hammie🖐
I love the fact that you take the time while camping to make a proper dinner for yourself! Looks delicious 😇❤️
Always enjoy watching you experiment with new things under tough conditions. This one reminded me of riding freight trains in the US when I was a kid and sleeping in boxcars using moving blankets as insulation 😂- fun memories.
So glad I found you, I'm a camping gadget junkie! Love seeing what you use
Me too!!!
Yeah, me too!
Yeah me also.
Great video Andy. I wonder if the insulated 'tent' would fit in the shelter. Thanks for more relaxing content for me and the dog
I always watch your great videos before going to sleep. They relax me a lot. Keep up the good work
What a delightful camper!! He had me smiling from begging to the end!! Thank you!!
Just Came across your channel and I have to say this video is brilliant.. I love that tent and it looks like you had a fabulous time. Can't wait to binwatch some more videos.
