Honestly, I wish I'd grown up with Gordon Ramsey. I only knew him through his reputation, and it's only within the last year that I've started watching his work. I love that he is an honest person and WILL NOT bullshit or sugarcoat. I can relate to that. And as an aspiring cook I legitimately share his frustration with all of the culinary sins he's had to witness over his career.
How can a person seem that friendly and yet so audaciously mean. "Well Jeff, you work hard and get paid well, but you only work 44 hours a week. That's not that much."
What are you talking about? She smiled the entire fucking time both episodes. Gordon showed her the fetid state of her kitchen and food and she just smiled like an idiot. You could show her a dead body in the bathroom and she'd probably still smile.
He’s not stressed out, but he has common sense compared to owner and he shows that he cares about this. He’s most likely part time employee who works few nights a week because of school and leaves no later than 9 pm because of minor laws.
What I don’t understand is why the chef hasn’t quit? Although I feel where he’s coming from - that he can only work with what he’s given, but he’s definitely as guilty as Karen because he didn’t leave or clean his kitchen.
I still can't figure out how Karen's friend tagged along the whole episode. She isn't even an employee. She should be banned from there because i bet you she still talks to all the customers lol
The cook/chef could've cleaned, straightened up, and tossed expired food. Side note: When the chef/cook complains, he has the same accent as Mike Tyson. 🤣
The lady should relax and take care of herself love herself. She is getting crazy. Im thankful chef ramsey never give up on her. The staff is lovely and show care for the owner.
I looked up an update and she seems to have reverted to her old ways and even hates Ramsey and what he did :( She blames him for costing her too much money when she was the one that later decided to hire an expensive new chef and shift to a gourmet menu. All Gordan said was to keep her existing chefs and use a simple menu meant for their kitchen, why did she go the whole other way?? Of course it wasn't economically sustainable, and that wasn't Gordan's fault. Seems like the son isn't helping enough if she's able to keep doing these kind of things. But she's still running the restaurant as of last year at the latest (don't know after that),
Though the staff shares the blame in that there's ZERO excuse not to have things be properly clean (in the kitchen or bedrooms). Yes there could be broken stuff that need the owner to repair or upgrade it, but you can still clean something if it's broken, especially if you need to use it anyway...
Gordon founded Karen a place to live and a decent bed to sleep in. Gordon is paying for all of this her home out of his pocket. Wow! Gordon definitely won’t lose anything, if anything will be bless beyond words. 🙏❤️🙏
@@Oldassmetalhead Yeah I am literally from this area and I never even heard of this restaurant, also can't believe I didn't know Gordon Ramsey was around lol
That sweet young boy who lost his cool was the only voice of reason in this entire establishment -- it was wild to continue seeing the older generations try and shut down his voice when he would simply point out their deficits… We see this even within the younger vs. older generations of society today as a whole. Very interesting.
If she marketed it as live a day in the life of a.hoarder, businnes would be booming lol.Other hoarders would love this.I have done so many hoder jobs and it scares the shit out of me that one is running a business. They dont clean, bath or take care of filth. It's like they are just going through the motions of life but not taking care of themselves in the process.
Caryn is a gem. A diamond in the rough. She seems so sweet. She does have an addiction to buying and hoarding baskets, but she just doesn't know how to manage the inn. She's not weird, a lot of people have addictions.
Yes, the employees are taking advantage of her, acting like it's her fault for not cooking/cleaning properly when they were hired to cook and clean. She is a terrible manager, but that doesn't make them good employees.
I don't think she's lying; I think she's delusional. I guarantee you she'd pass a lie detector test because she truly believes they need that much bread or make bacon every day.
Not everyone is into that hippie dippie boomer flower child painting on the walls nonsense. I mean it's one thing to do that crap in your home...but not your business.
The first part I was worried and thought she was nuts. But now at the end of this I was tearing up and could see the change in her smile. I thought “she’s so beautiful”
Fun fact: It seems now there are VERY split opinions on the Town's Inn, but if you look into their reviews it seems Karan didn't take as much to heart as she needed to as many customers claim she is extremely off putting and weird, and 20+ of reviews have claimed she tends to listen in on others conversations even in their own rooms and try to join them playing a board game or giving political opinions unwanted- plus some people claim she also seems to have reverted a lot of the changes Ramsay did to the Inn like their food practices. There ARE some good reviews too though so you can take from want you want but more of the recent reviews have been tending negative over positive ones. Also to add aswell the part at 10:00 seems to be something she still believes since every bit of critique she has gotten she seems to blame Gordon for, she also says she "got rid of his menu because a local 5 star chef said it was sub-standard since Ramsey doesn't know country food".
This was a hard episode to watch . I can’t imagine what it was like Gordon to stop being a chef , and stepping into the role of counsellor and therapist. 😕
Karen had diarrhea and didn’t clean up behind herself properly. Karen is really in denial and really doesn’t want to take any responsibility. She likes her food, but she’s failing and getting so much positive feedback, it’s really all in her head.
I agree. She cannot take care of herself, how could she possibly run a business which involves taking care of so many people? I think she has dementia.
He was saying he needs new equipment but nothing stopped him from changing the chips water or wiping the stove. It's mainly her fault for not calling him out, giving fresh supplies and getting more help, but he has some responsibility too.
Idk why but her sudden change in behaviour from a full on hoarder and whatever else what mental illness was portrayed to just being in a new clean place and suddenly looking like a sane person after the peptalk from her son and gordon doesnt seem true to me. Mental illnesses like this aren't easily fixed like that. This better not be scripted in anyway..
She moved back into the Inn and it got cluttered and out of date again. I’m a recovered hoarder and I’m appalled at how this was handled. It’s not Gordon’s fault, he’s not a mental health expert and I think production picked the locations, but the episode framing felt like it was mocking her all along and then, you’re right, they waved a magic makeover wand and she was fixed. Whether she was clinically hoarding or not, she was clearly mentally unwell and that shouldn’t be entertainment. At least the hoarders show frames its subjects as sick not stupid.
And depression does not do that to a person, not to that extent. She may have had a psychotic break or maybe has dementia, because her behavior is not in any way normal.
I find it hilarious that the chef went off like he did, blaming it all on the owner. He could've cleaned that stuff any time he wanted. I've went above and beyond at every job I've worked. You don't have to be asked to do some extra cleaning.
I have spent a early part of my lifetime there on various adventures and learning how to ride horses etc. AND the history etc. I watched part one and found the Town Inn to almost be tonnage that needs discarding. However Gordon saw something with these People and what was done is fantastic. This place will be a benefit and uplifting to Harpers Ferry. Well done. As a side note I believe they replaced the old 340 bridge with something safer for trucking. We used to hurt the old one being loaded with bricks, lumber and so on out of the hills there. Im happy to see Harpers Ferry doing well.
No matter how hard Gordon tried to get to Karen she was like a calm sea. "do you know what it's like not to be able to use your legs ...yes I do Sgt. Dan".

And as an aspiring cook I legitimately share his frustration with all of the culinary sins he's had to witness over his career.
You obviously know NOTHING about showbiz and the financing of these TV shows to say that.
@@Team33Team33 now if you were smart you'd withdraw back to your safe space and keep your mouth shut unless you have something constructive to say.

How can a person seem that friendly and yet so audaciously mean. "Well Jeff, you work hard and get paid well, but you only work 44 hours a week. That's not that much."
He sure as heck isn’t cleaning. Isn’t that Wyatt he kitchen staff are supposed to do?
It's not. I've worked restaurant jobs where the cooks work ~ 50 hours on the regular without whining.
You must be under 30
She has the sweetest little voice. I hope the Inn is doing well. Ramsey is the best!
Get Sarah outa there!
She didnt smile until someone was willing to HELP her personally (not just the business). she just needed someone to care
What are you talking about? She smiled the entire fucking time both episodes. Gordon showed her the fetid state of her kitchen and food and she just smiled like an idiot. You could show her a dead body in the bathroom and she'd probably still smile.
Karen is a professional gaslighter
Although Gordon can be mean sometimes, he is absolutely right ! I mean a shit stained carpet IS A MAJOR MAJOR DAMN PROBLEM !
I feel so bad for that server. 17 years old and he's way too stressed out 😂
He’s not stressed out, but he has common sense compared to owner and he shows that he cares about this. He’s most likely part time employee who works few nights a week because of school and leaves no later than 9 pm because of minor laws.
Sarah looks like the Granny from Looney Tunes Tweety.
Lol 😆 Yes
Jeff is acting outraged to try to take the heat off of himself. Youre not fooling anyone Jeff.
I think her and Karen are a couple
I don't even know why she was there for the reopening 😂😂
I almost feel like she was a character in a sitcom. Her behavior is so odd and she is always looming in the background doing something weird.
Son needs to be running the business
This made me cry. Gordon is such a genuine person no matter how hot headed he seems.
Gordon is such a king the way he shares for the betterment of others lives
That whole place was unsanitary and disgusting!!!! Mop bucket water fries, boiled burgers, dookie on the floor mats!!!
Dookie!!! Omg. I just laughed so hard 😂😂😂
she is so eerily calm
Medicine propably
Depression?
The cook/chef could've cleaned, straightened up, and tossed expired food. Side note: When the chef/cook complains, he has the same accent as Mike Tyson. 🤣
Karen is absolutely a shitty owner but Jeff blaming her for everything is complete bullshit
The lady should relax and take care of herself love herself. She is getting crazy. Im thankful chef ramsey never give up on her. The staff is lovely and show care for the owner.
Jeff seems like a really good guy. Very passionate.
I was gonna say eww she has her shoes on the bed but knowing she shat on the floor and didn't even clean... 😬
32:10 okay Gordon that one was brutal
I looked up an update and she seems to have reverted to her old ways and even hates Ramsey and what he did :(
She blames him for costing her too much money when she was the one that later decided to hire an expensive new chef and shift to a gourmet menu.
4 years in that kitchen, man it's all on you
Gordon founded Karen a place to live and a decent bed to sleep in. Gordon is paying for all of this her home out of his pocket. Wow! Gordon definitely won’t lose anything, if anything will be bless beyond words. 🙏❤️🙏
Note to self: never eat any food prepared by somebody from West Virginia.
I moved to West Virginia in 2017 from Arizona. I agree with you!
Some of us can actually cook.
Lol two ppl from West Virginia responded to this. Didn’t think they had that many inhabitants 😂
I'm from that area and I assure you there are some fine ass restaurants there. This just isn't one of em
@@Oldassmetalhead Yeah I am literally from this area and I never even heard of this restaurant, also can't believe I didn't know Gordon Ramsey was around lol
I wonder if they know Jeff is the HEART of their operation. Great job Gordon !!!!!
Jeff sounds like david goggins lol
😂she would steal their closet space 🤭🤣😂
Caryn is a gem. A diamond in the rough. She seems so sweet. She does have an addiction to buying and hoarding baskets, but she just doesn't know how to manage the inn. She's not weird, a lot of people have addictions.
Yes, the employees are taking advantage of her, acting like it's her fault for not cooking/cleaning properly when they were hired to cook and clean. She is a terrible manager, but that doesn't make them good employees.
35:35 According to her very own post from January 2024, she did EXACTLY what she said she wouldn’t do. . .
What scares me the most is that both of those people used to be teachers.
Best episode of the series in my opinion. God bless them all.
I don't think she's lying; I think she's delusional. I guarantee you she'd pass a lie detector test because she truly believes they need that much bread or make bacon every day.
I’m glad it finally came together for everyone’s sake. Change is hard and we all need a very loving reality check from time to time.
He help that lady out a lot.
He really doesn't like those murals.
The friend was jealous once she seen Karen had gotten the makeover 😂
The cook oversold it, he was too animated while screaming NO, the servers rule!
She looks like the witch from brave
I dont know why people Dosent get sick 😂 its more dirty than India street food man
This was a hard episode to watch . I can’t imagine what it was like Gordon to stop being a chef , and stepping into the role of counsellor and therapist.
😕
That moment a 17 year old is the most well-adjusted dude in the whole place..
13:13 - Stink bug... Crushed one could contribute to the foul stench which Gordon can't identify🤔
I thought showing the stink bug during the “this room stinks” segment was quite poetic. 😂😂
lol gage was so ready for Gordon to show up.
Karen had diarrhea and didn’t clean up behind herself properly. Karen is really in denial and really doesn’t want to take any responsibility. She likes her food, but she’s failing and getting so much positive feedback, it’s really all in her head.
Agreed!! But another employee shouldn’t have exposed her like that in front of everyone!!!
I agree. She cannot take care of herself, how could she possibly run a business which involves taking care of so many people? I think she has dementia.
I think Sarah and Karen are a couple in hiding
I like how the black chef tries to blame it all on the owner when they get called out. Dude didn't clean it for OVER A YEAR. Dude sucks at his job.
The black chef...he's the only chef. It's funny how no one talks about housekeeping staff
@@Lbree1077I’m not saying op is the most eloquent person but there was a female cook in the kitchen too.
He was saying he needs new equipment but nothing stopped him from changing the chips water or wiping the stove.
It's mainly her fault for not calling him out, giving fresh supplies and getting more help, but he has some responsibility too.
just saying chef was enough
I am talking to the white dude! Feels weird reading it right?
There’s NO chance Karen stayed with that look…
@NothingIsLittle where did you see that she moved back in and is hoarding there?
And depression does not do that to a person, not to that extent. She may have had a psychotic break or maybe has dementia, because her behavior is not in any way normal.
Cow at 35:54 is in the final stage of criminal level starvation. WTF? Not show - related, but still awful.
WAY TO GO!! Tyler! Or caleb! Putting his foot down telling boss shut up look @ huge picture of SERIOUS ISSUE
Karen would have done well to be gifted Animal Crossing vs a hotel
lmfao seriously though, seems like too much for her
I find it hilarious that the chef went off like he did, blaming it all on the owner. He could've cleaned that stuff any time he wanted. I've went above and beyond at every job I've worked. You don't have to be asked to do some extra cleaning.
20:20 i have a headache, i don't know why - idk maybe because its the first time you've likely experienced legitimate stress in a long while.
Dan".
Karen is very creepy person 😮.
