Fun. I was a bank teller in high school and university during the late 80s. We were still using the Paymaster then. Most everything else was electronic but that one hung in there a bit longer.
How cool! I was a bank teller while I was in college in the early 80s and loved it. We did have a computer at one end of the teller line that we all shared to check account balances. But our individual machines were analog-like pre-digital cash registers. It’s hard to believe how banking was actually accomplished back then. 😂
5 years ago I left my old teller job and they still used a paymaster for cashiers checks! Lol they had a lot of older equipment. Still even had the credit card imprinter. We didn’t use it but it was still there.

I found a vintage Paymaster at a Savers several years ago. It was in absolutely pristine condition, but they were asking $40 for it and I didn’t have a use or a place for it. I was in the same Savers a few weeks later, and the Paymaster was still there but now looked like it had been through war. Poor thing. Really wish I had purchased it and just resold it on Ebay.
