    You sir, are a true gent! Your explanation of everything is second to none. You always offer an alternative for those who don't have a specific tool which is really appreciated

      Thanks Mark! I do really try hard to make the best videos fir people so it's always nice to hear back from people. If you deem me worthy, I'd really appreciate it if you could share out my channel on your social media so I can help more people. Thanks for your support!

    And the hits keep coming! Your teaching is second to none. I have been ordering parts (based on your earlier video) and will likely start construction within the next two weeks - again leaning heavily on the techniques you are using. Thank you so much for doing these videos.

      Awesome, glad you think my videos are a hit....now if only I could convince the rest of the world! Feel free to convince your friends! Sounds great, it's exciting to start a project like this and start collecting all the shinny bits for the cab. What kinda theme are you going to build? I still haven't narrowed down mine yet....too many cool graphics out there. Thanks for the watch!

      @@wayofthewrench I am an artist so I am going to paint my cabinet. I already have a couple mid-seventies pinball machines so I'm going to keep it retro.

      Oh cool! I was tossing around the idea of making stencils and doing an old school EM paint job too. You thinking you'll do your own art or reproduce a classic? I'd love to see it when your done!

      @@wayofthewrench At present I plan to use a modified version of one of Stuzza's designs. He has graciously provided many free cabinet designs.to the community (see vpforum). If I do this I will hand paint witohout stencils. But between now and then I am quite likely to change my mind. Of course, I am sitting here with bated breath waiting for your next installment!

    Looks wicked-cool with the legs on. It's pretty big! I can't wait for you to start rigging up the wiring. Other peoples walk throughs on low voltage wiring confuses me. You are the crème de la crème explainer of vpinball stuff!

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  2 года назад

      Thanks Mike! Yeah it's an inch and a half wider on the cab but is normal length and the back box is a few inches wider and taller than normal. However, the size of the playfield is perfect with zero empty space.
      Yeah the wiring should be simple but filming it for people to learn will suck. So I am planning to do the wiring on a board or table so it's clear and then show it installed in the cab after. Thanks for the compliment and your support Mike!

      Ahh man sorry, I hope your install went smooth. That settles it.....you can do anything to your cab until you've seen it in my videos....lol. Just kidding, my 2 week schedule for video uploads is too slow for someone wanting to get the coolest thing ever made. Heads up, next video up is a great one on the secrets of the drum brake and how to inspect them. Then it's back to the pinball cab. Thanks for the watch Todd!

  • @markg9533

    The hole locations listed in guide are 2" and 4" as noted in your video - but with 3 hole jig the 2nd hole will be at 2 1/4 instead of 2" (which I understand works in your design) but the 3D part most use would be 1/4" high wouldn't it (per MJR guide)?

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  Год назад

      I'd have to look at it but as far as I remember the hole spacing is exactly the same otherwise the legs wouldn't bolt up. The difference in the jigs might be because of my cabinet design and the lower hole had to clear the 1" glue blocks that are in the bottom of the cabinet and they raised the bottom of the cabinet. Thanks fir the watch!

    • @markg9533
      @markg9533 Год назад +2

      @@wayofthewrench agree spacing is same between bolts. If you measure the 3D jig from bottom first hole is 2”, the second is 4.25. That’s the right spacing however that means in the front where hole 2 of 3D printed jig (bottom for front) is quarter inch high. Seems jig in build guide doesn’t match build guide. Your design is bit different. Great video somehow despite your guidance I didn’t drill at perfect angle even with jig, but used small rounded rasp to dig out minimal wood to fix.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  Год назад

      Yeah those holes are a pretty tight fit for the bolts so a little rasp filing won't hurt. Cool, you got your legs on! What's next?

      @@wayofthewrench Making holes for fans. I decided to wait on some things until had plan or equipment. I have no hole saws close to size needed so trying to decide if want to buy something I‘ll only use once. Router with 3d printed jig or something? Seems could make rounded square with jig that would expose some of fan casing?

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  Год назад

      The holes are big enough you could probably cut them out with a jig saw too! Just take your time.....or buy a hole saw kit, they aren't that expensive and you can use them for other things down the road.

      Hey. Sorry the link to the build guide is and the description and states to see the cabinet leg section on MJRs guide but no sign anywhere on that. I think it’s been removed maybe. I was wondering if you or anyone would be kind enough to provide a like so I can get one printed. Thanks for the prompt reply.

    What? Finished this video & the rest is all private? Disappointed to say the least.

    • @wayofthewrench
      @wayofthewrench  2 года назад +2

      I hear ya. That would suck but the reason they are private is because I'm preloading scheduled videos for the Summer so I can take a break from RUclips. These videos take a LOT of my time to film/make/edit and I only get an hour a day to work on them. So the videos that are private will be released soon, next one is out next Thursday and then they are scheduled every 2 weeks to come out. Sorry about the wait, but they are well worth it. I just finished making a couple videos on how to make a lockdown bar from scratch.....one without welding and one with welding. Sooo good. Thanks for the watch.
