I have been restoring pinball machines since 1981, when I was 12, and along the way I've seen some interesting custom work - but this isn't merely "interesting." You're a craftsman and artist and you brought that to bear here. The result is AMAZING, I am jealous, and I think you've done something for pinball, in all its kinetic art and play, and made it better. WELL DONE.
Thank you so much! That is most amazing compliment I have received on this project. Thanks again so much for seeing this project as an art/concept piece and voicing positivity!
@@buildxyz I thought you meant a VR pinball and I'm like yeah that's kinda cool man. Then I realized what was going on. Holy s**** bro this is f**** sick!!
As a professional pinball technician myself, there's a lot of cool stuff you've included to make this one-of-a-kind showpiece into something that is still true to the original. In its own special way, of course!
I don't have to tell you, but you did an amazing job. Any pinball enthusiast is lying if they say this isn't one of the coolest machines they have ever seen. Way to go!
My feelings exactly. But this turns out to be a well deserving project. At the end of the day the original components were not destroyed and are still available for reuse or resurrection.
aw, the plunger launcher is one of the best things gives us lots of control would be cool if it was like computer pinball where the longer you press the button the harder the launcher shoots out
We're glad you chose our PA-09 Mini Industrial Actuator for your Pinball Coffee Table. We can't wait to see what other exciting automation projects you'll be working on next!
This is absolutely amazing. I’ve seen old pins turned into tables and it’s always a ,cool looking abomination. What a feat of art and engineering, you restored a piece of history while also taking pinball into a new era.
Beautiful work! I was a skeptic at first too, that’s a classic, but man your did it justice! Every time I think I am good with pins, I see someone like you and I am humbled! Thanks for sharing.
ok, from someone that has repaired pinball games since about 1985. I have seen my fair share of table conversions. This is the best home conversion I have ever seen. keep it up.
I'm a professional amusement/pinball technician of many years here in Australia. I wanted to shout Nooooooooooooo!!!!! at you when I first saw the notification & description come up in Facebook. But in short, that's amazing, excellent work..just a fantastic result & thanks for sharing the video..
This is one of the coolest things I have ever seen. If ever need to get rid of it... please sell it to me. Truly a piece of art, it should be on display to the public!
As a child of the 70s and 80s, the heyday of electronic pinball machines, I have only one word, "Wow!" You remastered the pinball machine. An homage indeed. Well done, sir, and thank you.
This is absolutely fantastic. If we didn't have people willing to commit "sacrilege," there would never be any progress. What a great way to preserve-but also update-a classic by making it multifunctional and compact. Bravo.
As an official distributor of pinball machines & amusement machines & designing playrooms for years i must say i am impressed and i would like to congratulate such a good work it is trully amazing i believe you can have many good projects on the way because you seam as a person that has very good taste and a lot of technical skills very good and amazing result hope the very best for everything else you do in the future many many congratulations
.....i have no words about the result....i am trying to fix little by little my pinballs but you man you have done this on another level...i have no words to describe about the boards replacement, playfield is better from new, plastics are shine like NEW, new plastics also.? Oh my god....you are the man....No1 restoration ever, even if it is a coffee table now the restoration is ouaouuu !!! I have never see this before....braaavo!!!
its a flippin awesome corvette couch! you took all of the hassle of owning a pinball table and minimized them down as far you could, while also creating a beautiful show piece. well done!!
Appreciate your attention to detail and high quality materials and construction craftsmanship. Beautiful result. Pays homage to and might be better than the original. Hope you liquid-proofed it for the eventual drink that gets spilled on it!
The was an amazing project. Amazing engineering. Over the top really. Centaur was a PERFECT game for this. A well known pin but you didn't destroy something legendary like a Twilight Zone or a Haunted House. Overall this is a 10/10.
at first i was very hesitant to see you take apart a Centaur, but i gotta say that the end result is wonderful. really looks great and you did all the right things to breathe new life into a classic game. Also kudos for donating the rest of the leftover parts to a friend who's restoring the same game. Nothing got wasted and the pinball community appreciates you for it
Ive been playing pinball since the 70's when I was just barely able to see over the table. I can say the Centaur is one of my favorite pins and this custom table is simply incredible!!
It blows my mind that this content only has 60k views. This is a masterpiece, and the world needs to see it. I wish you best in your youtube journey bud. don't give up, your content is fantastic.
This is one of the most amazing projects I have seen anywhere...pinball or otherwise. Your attention to the special details is admirable. Just super work!!
The pinch point safety feature is really great. Everything is super cool. Cutting up working boards and such is somewhat frowned upon in the video game console space, but there's usually enough of them out there that it doesn't matter. You can also emulate games, so opportunities to play are never lost. I can understand being precious about pinball moreso, but you restored yours and made an interesting, public video. If I was mad about this project, shouldn't I be just as upset at everyone that has a working pinball machine locked in their house? That means another classic game that only one person and their friends can play.
The Bally sound board is called a "Squawk and talk". I can also hear that your "Say it again" echo board is also working. That was a rare board, used in only a few pins.
Very cool. Indeed. Pinball building has everything. Circuits, Mechanical engineering, Programming, Art, and all that cool shop stuff, welding and sweet tools. Very challenging
This popped up in my feed and what a delight. Love Pinball machines and not a hater. What you did was Brilliant and and you my friend are a master crafter. What you have done with everything is art to me. Thank you.
Amazing instructional and highly entertaining video. Your mastery of the technicalities and all the creativity and imagination that went into this project are beyond description. Added to this are your your extremely engaging manner, video editing and the perfect sound track. Proud of you.
As someone who designs pinball but don't have space for one, I must say this project is great. Well done, just a bit sad for that plunger but well, I guess sacrifices must be made.
Wow… I really didn’t want to like this, file me under the ‘you did what to a centaur????’ crowd. But I’m speechless… this is the most incredible build. Bravo. It exceeded expectations in every single way. Time to like and subscribe to watch some more of your witchcraft!
Hehe, appreciate the feedback! It was a bitter sweet victory. I gave this project a ton of time an effort (over a year) out of respect so hopefully that translates in the video :)
I loved Centaur back in college. I had no idea it was so rare. I'm pleased how hard you worked to preserve the style and detail of the game in this transformation.
Like all the other comments I have to say that your video is just outstanding. The level of attention you gave to EVERY aspect of your project is amazing. It was easily one of the most instructive build I have ever seen. Congrats for the awesome work.
impressive, that high level of skill in so many ways! First I was skeptical about using an old machine, but you did really make something great, better, something greater out of it. its not only craftsmanship, its art. great job!
Absolutely mindblowing! I have a Centaur which are my all time favorite pinball and thought in the beginning of the video like others... oh no! But this is simply so stunning! Mostly impressive build. Hats off!!
I think a lot of the "hate" comes from the fact that pinball machines mostly had very small production runs and a lot of passionate people become concerned that machines that could otherwise be restored are being "wasted on stupid projects", making a rare title even rarer. This is simply NOT the case with your machine, as you've used what you could and then donated the remains to a friend for use on a Centaur he is restoring. Amazing work with the re-engineering of certain boards for scoring, sound etc as it shows what can be done with Arduino boards that could possibly become an alternative for others with similar solid state machines with faulty boards in them!
Normally, I'd be upset. But holy wow, you knocked it out of the park, and made a true work of art from an existing work of art. If I had any money, I'd be offering you mega dollars for this. Unbelievable amount of skill on display here, and super creative to boot. Tons of cool ideas made real.
This is a very cool design and implementation. Some people get too worked up over things like sacrilege. This isn't that. You created something beautiful and unique.
Holy crap!!! The added programming with the Tetris mode is genius. Coffee table of my dreams. Just missing a slide out gimbal drink holder for when it's time to have a game and angle that baby up!!
So well done! This will inspire on so many levels. Don't abandon your crazy ideas or you might miss out on something extraordinary. Truly amazing! Thanks!
Wow, something most everyone can't do without extreme time and money, but glad you were successful and shared your vision and build. Now, how about another video showing its use live and some play time? I would love to see your Pinball table in action and keep up the great work! 😁
My dream is bringing the Android table from the game Epic Pinball to life... this brings me hope, at least in the sense that I could employee someone to do so in the future. Brilliant work.
This was the first video of yours I've ever seen, and it was absolutely epic! Don't listen to those who hold things like this sacred; it's all about your own perspective. Now you've got an amazing old pinball machine, modernized, and being used and loved in your home, whereas it may have just languished unused and unloved for decades more to come. Well done.
Wild ! I certainly have mixed feelings about this. You did an excellent job, that is for certain :) Lots of talent :) Its a really cool art piece !! I hope other people don't copy you !!! As far as the idea of a pin coffee table ? That is definitely an awkward stance for playing. You either are playing on the knees, or in a chair far away. At that rate a controller(xbox/dual shock) might make sense. With pinball, I love that it is a good break from sitting down / computer work. The standing while playing is SUCH a relief. It keeps you awake and more focussed. Having beer while standing is usually more fun than sitting and usually the only times we get to enjoy that is with pool or darts... Maybe the pinball Gods will even out your karma if you repaired/restored a few games and got them back into circulation ? Every time someone restores a game, it brings years/decades of joy to some other kid in the future. All the metal spikes on the outside is REALLY cool ! Custom buttons & decals are cool ! Must be an interesting seal on the playfield glass. In order to save the table from a coffee spill it must have a good seal, but then how to get the glass off for maintenance ?!?`meh? Maybe, after you've had this table for a few years you can do an update :) Would luv to know ur high scores and overall outlook on the project... As a skilled craftsman & a pro pinball player I definitely respect passion projects & encourage them. However, honesty is honesty ;p
Who doesn’t love knockers? Having a functional knocker in a pinball machine is a MUST. Please buy another coil and put the knocker back into the game! Fantastic work BTW. Congratulations!
Absolutely incredible. Don’t let arcade1up get ahold of your skills! Keep it legit! I’d say this is a mad homerun. My only complaint is that you removed the shooter rod, because it is ‘a weapon’. Maybe because the rod would interfere within a family room environment..yet you have added 700 ‘little weapons’ all over the cabinet..definitely not kid-friendly. Literally that’s my only gripe! Bravo Sir!!! The tech alone is incredible!
OMG, this is EXACTLY what I wanted to make when I was 16 years old. I always said I would make a coffee table pinball machine but alas, still has never come to fruition

Wow! Rarely has the word "Insane" in a RUclips video title actually turned out to be an understatement! This is just ridiculously amazing.
This is simply incredible. This could be an emtire new business venture if you so chose. Ignore the haterz. This is art

Going to show this video to my pinball club at school at some point in the New Year! Maybe it will inspire our Shop teacher.
You have a pinball club at school?!?

I never give Centaur a second glance at the Pacific Pinball Museum. But this is spectacular. Really exceptional.
I played pinball through the 80's and this was an eye opener. Very well done sir.
Amazing craftsmanship. This video deserves more views.
Like all the other comments I have to say that your video is just outstanding. The level of attention you gave to EVERY aspect of your project is amazing. It was easily one of the most instructive build I have ever seen. Congrats for the awesome work.
This video is amazing and great to see how you made something old and upgrade it to something more Epic 🙌
That table you purchased is a thing of beauty.
Holy balls!! That is great table!! Keep inspiring!!!! This video should have a lot more views!
impressive, that high level of skill in so many ways! First I was skeptical about using an old machine, but you did really make something great, better, something greater out of it. its not only craftsmanship, its art. great job!
Beautifully restored, brilliant mods and now I don't like you for raising the bar so high LOL. Keep it up
Absolutely mindblowing!
I have a Centaur which are my all time favorite pinball and thought in the beginning of the video like others... oh no!
But this is simply so stunning! Mostly impressive build. Hats off!!
DAMN. What a gorgeous restoration. The vast array of skills across so many mediums is inspiring. Fantastic job!

Great build, don't listen to others that think you destroyed a pinball machine.
And believe me I can know.
Best looking pinball table there is.
So well done! This will inspire on so many levels. Don't abandon your crazy ideas or you might miss out on something extraordinary. Truly amazing! Thanks!
The talent, knowledge, motivation...too many words to describe how impressed I am with your project. It's perfect! Excellent game choice.

As pinball collector I say you are a smart genius.
This is an absolutely mad build!! Incredible work + craftsmanship!
This is a truly amazing transformation! Glad to hear the unused parts will be going to restore an existing table! Thanks for sharing this. :)
Insane skill! So much work, so well done. Great job building a team for this

I'm a pinball machines' collector and if this was a new in box, new theme game I would definitely have this in my arcade room collection
My mans out here pluggin erybody!!!!!! GREAT VID BRO AWESOME CREATION!
Who doesn’t love knockers? Having a functional knocker in a pinball machine is a MUST. Please buy another coil and put the knocker back into the game! Fantastic work BTW. Congratulations!
Looks great, glad to know the other parts are being used to bring another Centaur back to life.. amazing build
Amazing job, so much attention to detail, congrats sir.
Absolutely fantastic. Every little detail cared for. Very talented.
Wow! Just saw this video today. Very well produced video and a very impressive result!! I'll take two please! 😀
Best arcade / pinball build I have ever seen. Incredibly impressed.
You're on the front of Digg. Good lord man this is unreal!
I wish these were for sale. I would purchase for sure.
Oh my, centaur brings back childhood memories.
Sick just super sick awesome work
Great choice of table, I hope to own a Centaur table myself one day.
OMG, this is EXACTLY what I wanted to make when I was 16 years old. I always said I would make a coffee table pinball machine but alas, still has never come to fruition
Absolute masterpiece. Simply stunning.
Great video! i especially loved that PCB population transition!
Just like the title of the video says, this is an insane build. I can’t even believe how awesome this is. I didn’t know what to expect at the beginning of the video, but after I saw the completed project, it was stunning. This is even better than a cocktail machine because you have the full playfield and can adjust the tilt. Big props man!
Super cool build. I saw some pinball machine tables from Altar Furniture about 5 years ago, but they weren't playable.
I saw some of their stuff when looking for inspiration ;) Very cool looking for sure.
@@buildxyz I'm sharing your build on The Awesomer later this morning :)
Thanks! Stay Awesome!
Some people like yourself just like to be awesome and do cool productive stuff for others to enjoy.
This is an AMAZING build! Well Played!
Well, get Bally to fund the production of these and I would be one of your first orders. Wow, that's fabulous!
Thanks Greg! 🙏
insanely badass, can't believe how all out this build ended up being, and tilt angle settings are the future
Absolutely amazing project!!! Great job and game!
What an awesome project!! As a location player with no space for my own machine, this is very cool! ✌️😁
You sir are a MONSTER!!! WOW unbelievable. Subscribed
My apprehensions we mainly in the concerns that this would be successful. My purist tendencies would not want to do something like this. But I would love to be able to take a pinball machine and be able to get some of the upgraded/replacement components like you did to keep a classic game around for years to come.
Glad it turned out, and it looks great!
If I only had electronic skills, corporate sponsors and access to multiple expensive machines, I might build one too.
I'd only be pissed if it ceased to be playable as I've seen so many 'upcycle' projects kill perfectly usable and sometimes stupidly rare things over the years and I'm glad to say this isn't one of them, it's beautifully done and hasn't lost anything of what made Centaur great, well done.
This is absolutely incredible.
That is one slick looking final product!
Amazing, you have some insane skill mate, and an eye for fine detail.
What a Work of Art! Awesome man!
