  • If ProPresenter and Lightkey are on separate computers, use this tool to route midi data over the network.

Very helpful series. Can you import a music track to program to within lightkey? Are you then able to export the DMX settings for a song to import into a program such as DMXis so you can run automatically in Ableton?

Great vid. Any chance You can do a video on actually setting bome? Having issues with bone setup to control lightkey in another comp. Not much info out there on how to actually setup bome software.

What kind of triggers are you wanting to use? (What is triggering changes in lightkey?

@@Quiksilver6565 I am using ableton. Currently, ableton is triggering Pro-presenter via audio midi network native to Mac. Now I added another comp to run lightkey but it won’t work unless I use bome.

Are you using different midi tracks or channels to trigger Pro and Lightkey, or are you trying to trigger both with the same midi note?
I guess I’m not sure why Bome would be needed in that scenario

@@Quiksilver6565 yes, I am using different midi channels from ableton. From what I understand, lightkey cannot be triggered across the network unless bome is involved. I’ve reached out to a church that does it that way, will be visiting next week. I’ll let you know the outcome in case it helps someone else. Thank you b

So if you are triggering directly from Ableton, you don’t need to go through bome. Bome is handy if you are using lightkey to trigger something else (like having lightkey control Pro Presenter). Or if you are on a windows platform with Ableton and need to use Bome’s network midi bus.
In lightkey, under preferences, make sure lightkey’s midi input it coming from the network session, and hit command+E to bring up your midi assignments. This will allow you to assign midi to cues and buttons straight from ableton
