  • A series of videos designed to train our volunteers and staff on the Lightkey lighting software. A lot of the details in these videos are specific to us as a church, but I left them public in case they can benefit anyone else looking to learn how to effectively use the software.

    ok, we've had lightkey for half a year for our church and I thought it was just a basic thing, nothing too special but man have you changed my outlook of this. this is AMAZING! You dont understand how much I appricate all these videos. This is amazing.

    Hi, my lightkey shows my cues as blocks. How do you get the cuelist view? thank you

      ThatKiDwiththeDrums hit the drop down arrow next to your “live” button. Click “manage live pages” and hit the plus button on the bottom left of the window that pops up. Hit “cuelist” to add a new one

      @@Quiksilver6565 Thanks! Also what do you use for sync or do you manually switch cues? I was trying to get midi out from logic pro but i think I'll need ableton for live triggering

    • @Quiksilver6565

      ThatKiDwiththeDrums we currently have it triggered live by our lighting team. However, it’s not too hard to trigger from logic or Ableton!
      You just have to add a midi track and assign each cue a note, then have that track play that specific note when you want that cue to activate.
      If your two programs are on the same computer, you would us the Mac IAC driver to send midi from one program to the other, if they are on different computers, you would use the Mac network driver.
      I have a few videos of similar things, but it’s easy to find walkthroughs on it!

    Great videos very informative , could you tell how to separate cues for playback , ie i build say 10 cues and put them in a page or cue list now whenever I press play in the cues player then stop then play again it start from the first cue and won’t continue from where it was stoped, also want to trigger them from my ipad which is connected with midimitter. I have tried to attach individual midi to each cue but if the cues are in a list it effects all the cues the same, any help would be appreciated

    Hi Jeremy, these are really helpful videos. Is there some way that you can play the music you are programing for within Lightkey so you can see and hear it?

    • @Quiksilver6565
      @Quiksilver6565  4 года назад

      Tempt not within the program itself. I usually just pull up spotify in another window or on my phone and use that to listen as I program.
      If you have a trackpad, you can swap between the full screen Lightkey window and your desktop by touching the trackpad with four fingers and swiping left or right.

    Hello,
    I have a simple programming Q: I see the Tilt Track Position Effect, how can I program a fixture (Chameleon Profile) to simple move from one tilt degree to another, then stop? Example: front facing 60 degrees, then over 4 seconds move up to 0 degrees? Thank you.

    • @Quiksilver6565
      @Quiksilver6565  2 года назад

      Are you wanting this action to happen repeatedly like a moving effect in a song, or just once, like a transition from one cue to the next?

      @@Quiksilver6565 Thx for the reply. Just once, and remain at 0° (straight up) until the next cue is fired

      @@AndrePaular the best way to do this is to add a cue with them at the first position, and another at the second position, and set the fade time of the first cue to 4 seconds

    Thank you very much for these videos. By far, they are the best tutorials I have watched to learn to use this software for a church application. We are just starting out with lighting and it has helped a lot. Do you have an email I can send you to ask about some of your specific service cues?

      Empirepro LITE yessir, it’s specifically designed to work with Mac trackpads, and the MacBook Touch Bar. It’s got really intuitive integration for Mac hardware.

    Great tutorial! I've been looking around on the internet and can't seem to find an answer to my question. Our current software, we are able to turn on and off LED power to our stage lighting. I'm trying to figure out how to do this with light key? Do you have an answer for this?

      Eric Durante do you know how it’s done right now? Sometimes Lights will be plugged into a DMX control switch or a dimmer rack in on/off mode. There are many ways to achieve this, it just depends on what your specific set up is

    • @ericdurante9066
      @ericdurante9066 4 года назад

      Jeremy Broxterman currently we have a dimmer rack that has on off mode for LEDs and dimmers for house lighting.
      It’s set up now where we have an LED Power On button and and off button on our software. Just trying do the same buttons on Light Key. A lot of this was set up before I got to this church. I don’t know if that is helpful.

      Eric Durante we have a setup like this at one of our campuses that meets in a theater. That one is portable, so I patched a channel that just stays at full as soon as the laptop is plugged in to the system. That way our team doesn’t have to worry about turning it on and off. I did this by creating a single channel profile that can only be at 255.
      If you want to retain control, just patch a generic dimmer to that channel and program it to be at 100%
      Usually when those dimmers are set to that on/off mode, they will pop on at any value above some number, and turn off at any value below it. I made ours stay at full because I didn’t want the lights powering off when programming, and there is really no “park” feature where you can keep a certain channel at one value no matter what.
