Sounds great. I accumulated gear since the late 70s and with the exception of a few 50s Fender tweeds sold all my vintage gear. My main Marshall is a YJM100 and with the built in power attenuator I can get some good sizzle and sag without knocking stuff off the walls. Also love the Marshall Class 5. Not many I can't get good sounds out of tbo.
Thanks man...it’s a Ibanez Thermion straight cab ( 4x12 ) awesome cab, super rigid made out of 5/4” Birch Playwood...so right construction...it has 2 V30 ( new ) and 2 77’ Black backs 55 hz..and 1 Shure 57 on the BB plus a Room mic...
@@GonzaCordo Yes very versatile and takes pedals well. It was great out of the box and had a few tweaks that maintains the Jubilee and can also get into modded Plexi territory especially when cranking the master and using the gain as master!
Great playing and your amp sounds beautiful! Did the new Synergy caps take a long time to break-in? I have a 1974 50 watt JMP that I modded to '68 specs. I also have an older Friedman Smallbox that I recapped with Sozo caps. I love both amps. :) Happy Holidays, man!
wondering if someone in the comments here might be able to help me out. I’m looking to scoop spare tubes for my 2012 Marshall SLP MKII 100 watt head. What would I need tube wise and how many of each to be totally backed up? From what I gathered online I would want to get a set of 4 power tubes (EL334s) and then I think 3 preamp tubes (12AX7’s). Would that suffice if it came to replacing all the tubes in my amp? I’m a firm believer that if it ain’t broke don’t fix it, and these would totally just wait in the wings until the day comes where I need them. If anyone with more knowledge can help steer me in the right direction though, I’d appreciate it ! Thanks
I think one set it’s enough…preamp tubes don’t break…and if you are not punishing with volume the EL34 should last…so you would change them for improving or changing the sound…
@@GonzaCordo thank you for the reply and the great video. What I’m confused on is the quantity I’d need. In order to have full replacement would it be 4 power tubes and then 2 preamp tubes? Or 3?
Puts on some "brakes" signal back into circuit which has perceivable effect of "cleaning up" the distortion so it is not as smeary or scrappy sounding. Like limiting power delivery just enough on a powerful muscle car so the tires have a chance to link up and provide more "grip."
forget the effects loop. just put everything in the front in the right order. I use to use the 4 cable effects loop and got tired of it. and eve thing sounds fine in the front. years ago everyone just went in the front with pedals. EVH went in the front to. probably would only need effect loop if you were playing death metal which is all just crushed sound anyways
Could you sum up your exact modifications? I also got this Reissue but I assume because of the bright cap it is really aggressive and harsh even with the bright channel volume at just 1 (I don’t jumper normally). Because of that Ican’t really get any clean sound out of the bright channel. Because I attenuate I always crank the volume to at least 6-7. On my other Marshalls the with volume increasing bottom end of the power amp evens that harshness out, but with this beast it’s still present and just to much for my taste... (I really love the overall tonality and therefore I‘d like to tweak it till it‘s perfect). Your input is really appreciated, thanks man
What I did it’s basically...change all of the grey square caps for synergy caps...same values as original...I cut the bright cap...on V1a ( or b ) I change the 330 cap for 250...electrolytic...put a 2,7k resistance in there as well ( change original value )...plus the Variac thing biasing to 50mv when the voltaje has dropped...vintage Celestion blackbacks.....feedback tap changed to 4 ohms instead of 8...loop disconnected from inside...
Will Marshall no longer manufacture the super lead plexi 1959 100watts? There will be no re-releases?, and I had planned to buy a head this year, as it is the sound and amplifier of my dreams. What about the super lead plexi 1987x 50 watts? I've seen the small origin heads of 20 watts but I don't like them, they don't sound like an amplifier, they sound more like a pedal.
@@GonzaCordo Ok, i see. I don't know which one to buy. Too many options 🤣 i like the old marshall sound but also want to get a good crunch/overdrive sound. No pedals!…when you crank this beasts they just Roar!!!…and yes…that Verb helps you going and it make it easier to play….maybe you are hearing some saturation from plugins… 1176 compressor plugin… 1073 Neve preamp emulation…all of those things adds to the sound at the end…that would be the “studio magic”

4 EL34 and 3 12AX7
what is the "negative feedback" in amp circuitry terms? I've heard Dave Friedman talking about it but not sure what that is
Originally was 47K so I installed a switch that adds 56K on one of the 2 positions...so it’s near 100k and 47k...
