I want you to know how thankful I actually am. I have dyscalculia and learn differently. I am about to be 16 and starting a fast food job soon. I would literally cry because I was worried and frustrated because I didn't understand. This video helped me understand it so much faster! You don't know how you actually saved my life!! Please keep doing stuff like this, you don't know how much you affect people with this!
I’m so happy this helps you! Dyscalculia is no joke. I had a student for the last 2 years with it. In May, she earned the highest grade in my Advanced Math class! Just remember to breathe!
Same, people don’t think it’s a real learning disability it can really effect you in your day to day life, especially when shopping or having to solve problems involving math I hope people give people more sympathy for people with dyscalculia and more understanding just like dyslexia
Thank you so much. I’m 16 years old and recently had a job and was screamed at because the manager told me not to use the register and she came about it very mean, I cried because I was super frustrated, but now I will study this before I start my new job Saturday!
Just wanted to say. Great explanation. I'm 65 and started counting back change almost 60 years ago, selling Girl Guide biscuits. I've never been particularly confident doing maths in my head but have always found counting back to be easy - perhaps cos it's visual. So glad to see you passing it on to younger generations as it's such a useful skill to have. For anyone starting out selling, l wanted to pass on a couple of things l find useful. When you're "making change" count it into your own hand first, then to the customer - that way you've got a chance to check it while you're counting it to them. Also, get into the habit of putting the money they give you on the little ledge above the change drawer and only put it in the drawer after you've given them their change. Had so many occasions when someone thought they'd given me a larger denomination than they actually had and it's great to be able to point to it and prove they were mistaken. 😊
I’m 30 Years Old From Louisiana. I Just Got A Job At Quicktrip. They Have This Thing Where They Don’t Show You How Much A Person Gets Back, You Kinda Just Gotta Figure It Out. I’m Stating Where I’m From Because The Louisiana School System Sucks. We Were Never Taught This And We Are Sooo Behind Educationally. It’s Sad That I’m 30 And Just Learning This. It Was A Little Embarrassing When My Manager Called Me Out On It But Hey I Love A Challenge 🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️
I used to have panic attacks in therapy over this (genuinely) who knew a five minute and forty second video could fix this fo me 🥲💖 the way you explained it was so easy to follow and your voice is so kind and reassuring, thank you so much for this ❤
Thank you so much! I was thinking about getting job soon and usually first jobs are like fast food places and you have to count change back but you really are helping me a bunch and im starting to learn a lot! Could you possibly do one more video about this? :D
I'm so glad it was helpful! I actually have 2 other ones here ruclips.net/video/w6K26HaBvLQ/видео.html ruclips.net/video/pAVLji_2rMQ/видео.html If you still have a little trouble, just let me know and I will be happy to do some more examples!
Thank you. This was awesome. I wish I knew this growing up now I'm homeschooling and I'm even learning a lot. Do you have a video on how to teach how much money you should get back(mental math)
I understand this & I'm terrible w/math & numbers, but I'm having issues when I apply this method while working. It's like I freeze up! I’m having trouble understanding a transaction. A customer total was $6.11 and paid $7.00, I’m having difficulty understanding how it would be only a dime and a penny? Is there a way to get an update version/new videos for this?
Im a teenage sophomore in high school and I've been having a hard time learning the time even the money since middle school thats why im in special education and i want to get of that class i have to be good at math and now im learning my money and everyday after school and how to count coins and dollars so i can earn that experience ipad ive dying to ask my mom for thank you this helped 😂🎉
Also, i have a question Is it better to be quick rather than being slow when it comes to cash handling? Because im a bit afraid of impatient customers, lol
Perhaps add an example of when an item is 10.28 and they give you 20.25. A couple of Examples like that because people will often times do that to avoid Pennie’s or smaller change.
I'm 15, almost 16, and didn't know how to count change because my school NEVER taught this, so this was really REALLY helpful. Thank you so much! 😭🙏🏾
You are so welcome! I’m glad it was helpful

Same here bro
Same story here
Same! It’s embarrassing too but I was never taught

It’s best to be correct 😂 People just need to be patient. Learning takes time. Don’t rush yourself. Speed will come quickly, I promise!
@@MomDoesMath thank you!

I’m so glad!
In Canada we don’t have Pennies
why cant we do subtracting
You can if you want to. This is just a way to do it if you have trouble subtracting ingredients your head while trying to work
