Yay! Fun video 🎉 we really like Azul in BGA and have the mini version. Sagrada looks nice too but we’ve not played it yet. Mycelia looks gorgeous! We’ve had it on the wishlist for a while now, maybe one day. We love mushrooms in nature and on our plates 😅 Enjoy your break 😊
Oh, I didn't know that there was a mini-version of Azul! Is the mini the same as the one I have, or is it one of the other versions of Azul? It was really a weekend for beautiful games! All three games are very pretty in different ways!
@@teaNgamesThe one we have is a mini version of the base game, and there is also a mini Summer Pavilion edition. It’s good as it’s travel sized and plays the same way ☺️
I enjoy Azul, and I'm happy to play any iteration of it and be reminded of the rules, but I only own the Queen's Garden version, which I've heard is the most complex. I do really like the puzzle of that particular game. And Sagrada is a well-worn favorite, one of the first games I bought getting into the hobby. I play it on the app, and I still welcome it at game night every time it's suggested.
We actually had a friend over to play games for the first time in years. We even played a classic (?) game for the first time in Splendor. We have seen it constantly in stores, but never played it and had a whale of a time. We also played Star Flux a few times and I won twice by accident because someone accidentally played cards that just allowed me to win. And while I didn't do much to earn it, a victory is a victory. Enjoy your time away! Good to recharge those batteries every now and again!
Splendor is so much fun! I love those chunky gem tokens! I usually don't win, but gameplay is just so satisfying! That's one thing all classic games have: a really satisfying game experience! (BTW, it's easy to accidentally win with Fluxx...the whole game is kinda like an ongoing accident🤣 I've also accidentally lost!🤣)
I've now tested it out! The cards take the same size sleeves as Terraforming Mars, so I put some TM sleeved cards into the space for the Mycelia cards & they fit!🎉 Thanks for nudging me to test this out before buying sleeves😁
Sagrada is our top played game and my partner's #1! We have all the expansions for it too which just adds even more variability and replayability. Some of the expansion modules can help with the luck mitigation as well, but we have slowly come to terms with knowing that we won't always be able to complete our window as perfectly as we'd like. I think there is some appeal in that though, because it's like "maybe next time I'll get it!" 😄
I think that's one of the reasons I'm OK with luck in a game; it helps level the play for all players & it encourages replays! Because of luck I'll always think that I'll do better next time!😉
It bothers me that games can go in and out of print within a year or 2. I do think the word "classic" is used too lightly. But I sometimes wonder if some potential classics go out of print before they've had a chance to gain a substantial audience🤷♀️
Appreciate this explanation of these three. Well, I LOVE Sagrada already. It's our most played!
Thanks! Sagrada is both simple & complex---and it's so easy to get to the table! We're getting a lot of play from it!🎲

It's really easy to see why these 2 games are classics---even though their puzzle-y gameplay isn't easy!😆 Thanks for watching and commenting!
Have a good break!
Thanks! And thanks for watching!🎉

@teaNgames I loved the ever changing rules and the chaos!
For Mycelia - will the cards still fit in the organizer if they're sleeved? The game looks very cool!
And enjoy your break!
I don't know if they'll still fit; it may depend on how snug the sleeves fit!🤞I really *hope* they'll fit!🤞

Especially BECAUSE the industry moves so fast now, a minimum of 10 years should elapse before "modern classic" is declared.
