I didn't either. But these videos were promotional. Not aired alot except on saTurdaYs on tv or discos. This was before mtv.
This should have been a big hit, its a great R&B track, more credible than his later more commercial stuff even though thats very good pop music.
This & many other deserving songs in 1981 certainly would have gotten a huge boost with help from a certain video channel that launched the same year.
But as we all know, they didn’t live up to the “M” in their name & ignored black artists until Michael & Prince gave them no choice.
