oh my god your review is insanely thorough. thanks for all the information, im sure it was a pain in the ass to test this much for every monitor you review

I have done a lot of research on the last three monitors in the video + Samsung odyssey G7. I finally made a decision last night and picked LG 34GN850 instead of LG 34GP83A. It's 20 ms faster response time than ASUS VG34VQL1B. 850 is still the king of 34" in 2022 Q1.
Can you put the price of the monitor found on their website at the time of the review on the screen. It’s a huge factor in most peoples purchasing decisions. Yes prices can fluctuate a great deal but it’s still important info that many would like to know. Just put the date and a small notice on the screen at the same time to help.

83a all day. Only difference is 950g has the gsync module built in which is useless. 83a is significantly cheaper and much better value as the panels are almost identical.
@@calvintonkin3156 Not true. The 950 is 180hz OC instead of 160hz OC; also HDR600 vs HDR400. Those are pretty major differences. HDR600 is a MUCH better HDR experience.
Is Black Equalizer at 0 for these tests? BE at 50 kills the contrast/gamma which results in poor dark room performance. I wish tests were done with it at default and then at 0. Leaving it on seems extremely biased knowing its effect on contrast...
Wrong. BE 50 = default, aka unprocessed image. BE 0 = lower gamma. It won't help with contrast in any way, it would only kill shades of grey and turn them black or near black but it won't make actual black deeper. A contrast of around 950-1000:1 is typical for IPS panels and it's considered decent for this type. Again, BE at zero won't improve contrast, it would still be 950:1 but it will kill the gamma.
Is this monitor any good with console? I’m looking to get a curved monitor that can use all the features of my Xbox series x. If anyone has any other options then please let me know.
I'm pretty sure the series x and PS5 don't support ultrawide resolutions, but don't quote me on that as I do not own either, as I game exclusively on PC these days. This monitor is 21:9 aspect ratio, and the standard aspect ratio is 16:9, this means you will either have a stretched image or black bars on the sides. LG makes similar Ultragear series monitors that are 16:9 aspect ratio that would be perfect for consoles. Also, as others have mentioned. Since this monitor only has HDMI 2.0, you're limited to 80Hz refresh rate. The series x and PS5 both have plenty of titles at this point that will do 120Hz refresh rate. I'd look elsewhere for console gaming.
Up to 144hz over DP, you can get 10-bit (g-sync/hdr won't actually change the bandwidth limits). However, this means that at 160hz you can only get 8-bit, but at 144 there should be no issues. Hope this helps!

it depends what hdmi tech they are using. also the hdmi cable can factor that in too. if its an older generation cable it wont run higher refresh rates and your pc knows and will lock it at whatever refresh rate it can run
For gaming, curved is better. Especially nice in first person perspective, it gives you more peripheral vision. If you're working, then it's up to preference. I'm also assuming you're talking about ultrawide monitors. If you're just getting a normal aspect ratio (16:9) monitor, then the curve is unnecessary.
@@bbdawise Ha ha ha I'm laughing because back in 2016 i bought a Samsung curved tv. Let me tell you something the picture is fantastic and it seems to envelop you when you are watching something. I just find it hard to part with this TV because curved TVs are not too popular anymore. But one thing I can say is the picture quality is amazing.
For 16:9 flat is better, but when you start going ultrawide you want at least a slight curve to counteract the wider field of view. nothing crazy like Samsung's 1000R but 1800R is a perfectly good curve for a 21:9 monitor.

@MisterCloudz GtG 5ms...it looks great but you also need to consider the entire response time of the monitor....

Bought mine in January 2021 and paid $930 cnd or $700 usd. Price varies between +$100 to $350 since January.
Bought one in mid October 2021 for $800 off amazon
Where did you get the shirt? It's unreal. Long live Rush.
The shirt was actually made by a friend of Ryan's: www.ripgoat.com/ (and he's coincidentally wearing it today lol).
I don't know if I should go with this or the BenQ Mobiuz

Yea all BE does is make the whole screen look dark. Doesn’t really help with the contrast ratio
I have a MacBook Air usbc only how can I connect to this monitor?
You’d likely use the display port and some sorr of adapter to the MacBook!
Is this monitor any good with console? I’m looking to get a curved monitor that can use all the features of my Xbox series x. If anyone has any other options then please let me know.
You need hdmi 2.1 for console if you want all the features. This monitor has hdmi 2.0 so it’s not the best option
get an LG OLED TV they have 49" right now but they're releasing a 42" this year it'll have HDMI 2.1. HDMI 2.1 monitors are expensive right now I think
Any idea what you went with?? Your question is my question
