I gave birth 2 1/2 weeks ago. It's amazing how instinctual the birthing process is. And how clear and focused my mind was. I watched your videos throughout my pregnancy, and they REALLY helped!!!
You're looking so well Elizabeth!! Sitting here 35 weeks with my second and getting mentally prepared for labour.. here in Canada we get very little time to talk to OBs so your videos have been an incredible source of reputable information. Thanks for what you do!
30 weeks here. Due Feb.2 with my first baby boy!!!! 💙 I can and can’t wait. I only hope to have a birthing team that’s as informative and caring as you!!!! Thanks for all of the information. 🥰
I was pregnant with you this year and basically followed every tip in your videos that applied to my situation (including all of these!) and had such a magical birth! I was induced via cook catheter (no medication) and I feel like your advice helped so much with that. Labor start to finish was about 7.5 hours, I was up and moving for all but the last 20ish minutes, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. My nurses/midwife were so amazing too ❤️ also, my baby girl was born on 6/21 so I’m curious how close she is in age to baby Rosalie
I am only 10 weeks but I am very nervous, but want to try for an unmedicated birth, even though I know I have a low pain threshold. This video is definitely giving my a lot more confidence, I really love your positivity.
Girl, that was me 15 months ago. I did not get the epidural. I just had a dose of fentanyl at one point and my baby was sunny-side up, back to back contractions and it was rough. But my birth partner helped me stay the course and not get the epidural and I am so so grateful for that. So if anything I would recommend that your birth partner knows your goals and helps you stay that route!
You are the most genuine and helpful nurse here on this platform 💛 thank you so much for uploading such helpful content. I have been watching since before conception and I’m now 29 weeks tomorrow! Love it 😊 and love u!
Glad to know there are nurses out there that can do there job well and not completely ignore your wishes. My first was a C-section my baby was breech. No one told me I had another option on trying to rotate baby or sometimes they flip right before birth. They scheduled my csection at 37/38 weeks before labor started naturally. My second thankfully was a vaginal birth, but when I came in I told my nurse I didn’t want an epidural right away I really wanted to give birthing non medicated for as long as possible my best shot. She told me that I didn’t want to wait until it was too late and to just get it inserted so it would be ready when I needed it. Naive me didn’t realize they had to administer the epidural medication to make sure it worked and my legs were already completely numb. I’m trying to educate myself as much as I possibly can for my third because I want to do this naturally and I don’t want nurses trying make it easier for them and ignoring my wishes.
Brought me to tears at the end! Feeling so blessed to have found you! Your passion and commitment and how you say everything with a smile is highly appreciated during these precarious times! Thank you thank you!
I’m due in 3 weeks with baby number 3, it’s been 8 years since I had my last baby. These tips are SO helpful. I’m hoping for nurses with similar ideals as you!
Not even pregnant and not planing a pregnancy any time soon. Still your videos give mi comfort and calmness. I have a very low pain tollerance and honestly I'm really scared of all of this. You telling me that I don't just have to suffer through this but there are things I can do to help the whole process, why to do them and how they work is just amazing.
Can I just say how much I adore your channel?! I was wondering if you could do a video about SIDS. I realize the sensitivity of the topic, but there's a lot of fears that would be great to be cleared up. Baby sleeping on back or tummy, letting a baby sleep with a blanket, temperature, etc....
41 weeks today! This video was a great refresher for things I've been learning throughout this pregnancy, and helpful for getting me into a good head space. Now I just need some contractions!
Im 36 weeks pregnant and Im glad to hear you say that cervical dilation isn't everything. My dr says she can feel my baby's head down low but Im not dialating yet.
My understanding is that the reason dilation isn't the end all be all simply because of how quickly it can change. Your Dr might say you're only 1 cm but a few hours later, you could progress further than that.
My baby is now 6.5 months old, labor was 18 hours 😩 I was induced as my water had broken, pain picked up very quickly so I broke down and got the epidural at 4cm. I'm in Canada and they made me labor and deliver with a mask on due to covid, as well as hold my breath while pushing, which in my opinion was brutal and terribly uncomfortable but I was not given another option. Really wish I was able to have a doula or midwife to advocate for a more peaceful delivery. Would you ever suggest holding your breath while pushing? I'm honestly a bit traumatised from that experience and dread ever having to give birth again :(
Just confirmed I was pregnant with blood work today! Thank you, Elizabeth, for making the prospect of becoming pregnant, giving birth, and caring for a newborn go from being an impossible, terrifying feat that I would never want to subject myself to....and now it seems like something I (yes, even ME) can actually attain.

This was a great video. Probably the best video I’ve watched on labor and delivery. Thank you for sharing! I love the toilet idea. I’m currently 37 weeks with my first baby. I was home alone the other day and was experiencing braxton hicks contractions. It made me have to use the bathroom but I also noticed the moment I sat on the toilet the contractions were not as painful and easy to get through. I will definitely be taking that tip when I give birth.
I'm 36 weeks tomorrow with my third baby. I'm so glad I found your channel and swish there was this kind of info 4 years ago when I had my daughter and son. I'm definitely preparing differently this time around. Thank you so much!
I wish I can have you as my labor nurse! I feel like I was not cared for in the same way you are describing things here!!! I am nervous about this deliver because I am in a different state and a hospital with terrible reviews 😔 can’t change hospitals it’s the only one that goes with my current insurance.
I'm 35 weeks & getting so excited, yet so nervous. I am binge watching all of your videos to better prepare myself. Thank you for all of your helpful tips !!!!
So, so helpful! Thank you! This is getting my hyped for birth. So excited to meet my baby! I know I can do it without an epidural and thus avoid the rare but serious side effects of epidurals, as well as the cascade of interventions that epidurals often bring.
Your energy is so inspiring! You are great at what you do! I’m due in February and am completely terrified to give birth :/ this video made me feel a bit better!
Week 11 for me but browsing videos to prepare. Your videos have been so helpful in helping me understand the labor and birthing processes. Thanks so much!
I think my nurses thought I was crazy walking around the unit as much as I did overnight. Honest to god, I was induced at 41 weeks and could NOT feel my contractions until they broke my water on 9 units of Pitocin - after 24h of being only 4cm. THEN I FELT IT! XD Pretty much went straight into transition and 9cm within an hour. The comb couldn't do anything for me at that point, but the epidural was FANTASTIC! 11/10 relief. Regardless, I'm grateful for your videos Elizabeth - they helped make the entire process a lot less overwhelming and scary. My beautiful 3 month old baby boy says hello (or feed me. They both sound the same lol!)
38 weeks and I am loving all your videos. Am scared, but the way you talk and the amount of info you give us, makes me feel confident! You are a treasure for us!
Im carrying twins and im in EXCRUCIATING pain. Round ligament pain. Siatica. And i honestly feel like my hip bones arent even connected at times. It hurts to MOVE. 24 weeks today. I still have so much more to go.
This is how I felt during my last 5 weeks pregnant with my daughter. Severe pain everywhere including my pelvis, hips, back, etc. I can’t imagine feeling like that at 24 weeks. I am so sorry.
I'm 37 weeks pregnant with my first baby and I'm so terrified of giving birth. I never had any parenting or birthing classes so I'm really nervous about what's going to happen... I don't know what to expect but I guess I have to roll with it...

The part about keeping your bladder empty hits home for me. I had gbs and had two rounds of iv antibiotics, no catheter. I didn't feel like I had to go until it was pretty much too late. I was in transition and couldn't make myself go right there on the bed. No pain meds and I had pitocin. I was in pain bad. Baby was 9.5.

28 weeks today. Getting all the info I can 😭. Question though. I’ve been hearing that the way they lay you during labor with your knees and your legs spread very far apart, narrows your birth canal and causes more pain. Is it true that the closer your knees are together the more room there is for Baby to come out?
34 weeks. My self esteem has always been very low. I haven't really engaged with a midwife properly,I live very remote and gp is terrible, I don't have any support girls or family. Thanks for being so close. Ur my support person so far.x

How amazing this video is! I am so grateful I got to watch it like I have many other of your videos. I will be writing those down and practice them and talk it over w my doc and see if any of those can make it into my birth plan like: dimmed lights, quiet voices, etc
I've found your videos so helpful! I'm due in the new year and you have helped me tackle my anxiety. I feel so much more well informed after seeing your videos. I'd love to know if you have any tips and tricks for plus size Mummas? X
35 weeks and 5 days with baby 3, due on Halloween but getting induced on the 10th of this month. I am hoping to give birth without the epidural, so I will be using these tips and hoping for the best. 💗
I really hate dim lights (in any situation) and was so frustrated that the midwives were constantly turning off lights in our room during nighttime when I was in labour. I felt much more comfortable in a well lighted room.
I’m going to take my mom with me when this baby comes out in about 1,5 months 😳 So she is the one I talk to about my birth and who knows what I want. So crazy how time flies! But honestly by know I just want this baby out. I want my body back and I want space for my organs 🙈 And of course I want to cuddle my baby
I’m over 40 weeks pregnant with my first child .. I’m going to give birth alone .. which to me now seems like not a big deal and maybe even less embarrassing.. but I haven’t heard anyone recommend this at all .. Which makes me upset and a little nervous too ..
What makes me sad is the hospital I have had my kids in do not offer a peanut ball; walking around or ANY position other than on your back. They don’t let me try any position because they force the epidural on you as soon as you walk in. They want you stuck to a bed. Not walking around. I want to try a different hospital but the good one is an hour away and usually my kids come quick so I’m super nervous. I’m due in 6 weeks and I love your videos.
I'm actually pretty surprised to hear such good tips from a hospital nurse - I've been kind of under the impression that what they generally do is just strap you on your back, pump you with drugs, tell you not to push til the doctor comes, and let you tear.
Yikes how terrible :( I think it depends on the philosophy of your birthing unit. Mine is very minimal interventions as much as possible. If you decide on a hospital birth I hope you can find a team that offers what you need and not that terrifying description!
It really depends. There's definitely different philosophies in both providers and facilities. I was able to deliver in a hospital that has a natural birth center within it. My CNM didn't tell me to do anything during my labor, she just let me do what I wanted to do. She knew I had a birth plan based on the Bradley Method and wanted the least amount of intervention possible. The nurse working with her also left me alone. My CNM just sat in a chair and watched me deliver my baby.
something I wonder about when watching your videos and others is, it sounds like even if everything goes well and the baby is born without anyone getting hurt, very often there's still something wrong with the baby's heartrate at some point because it's just hard physically. For example how you said in this video that there's gonna be a lot of people in the room at some point, for example for the heart rate being wrong but not most of the time, or just other observations you and others made that made me think that. So did I get the right impression that's there's almost always something wrong with the baby's heartrate at some point? If that's the case can someone just decline to check the heart rate? it just seems like something stressful that could cause more problems than it solves. I mean if you were at home you might just not check the heart rate and be left alone, so why can't there be a middle ground where you have the safety of a hospital but you don't have to do stressful medical things all the time? I mean, even if the heart rate is a little bit bad, there's not much you can do except relax or have a c section, and I'm not having one unless the case is really extreme, I know some people are fine with it but to me it just seems like something I would avoid at all costs because I can't stand the idea and I wouldn't have a baby if I had to do that to have one. So can you just not check the heart rate?
My 6 month old daughter needed to be induced (water broke but contractions didn't start) so I had to be monitored and my child wouldn't let herself be monitored unless I was laying down, on my back it sucked
Not even pregnant but i love listening to how excited people get when they talk about things they know and are passionate about. The best kind of teachers.

I’m 32 weeks tomorrow and have enjoyed watching your videos so much through pregnancy! I’m a FTM and have learned a ton from you 🥰🤍
How amazing this video is! I am so grateful I got to watch it like I have many other of your videos. I will be writing those down and practice them and talk it over w my doc and see if any of those can make it into my birth plan like: dimmed lights, quiet voices, etc
Yay! I hope it’s an easy incorporation 😊
I know you see this all thr time but I so wish you were my nurse!!! Giving birth for the first time in February and this is SO helpful
this is probably one of the most helpful videos I have ever seen!
I've found your videos so helpful! I'm due in the new year and you have helped me tackle my anxiety. I feel so much more well informed after seeing your videos. I'd love to know if you have any tips and tricks for plus size Mummas? X
Hey do you happen to work at Martha Jefferson ? 😊😊
35 weeks and 5 days with baby 3, due on Halloween but getting induced on the 10th of this month. I am hoping to give birth without the epidural, so I will be using these tips and hoping for the best. 💗
Good luck!! 💗
Thank you so so so infinitely much ❤ Elizabeth
Why wasn’t my delivery nurse as knowledgeable as you are 😞 I wouldn’t have been pushing for 2 hours
I’m 38 weeks and my pelvic floor is hurting bad i feel my bladder being terribly pushed.
I laughed when you said sweet lil noggin! Love your videos and am considering being a nurse and my dream is to be in L&D. ❤️
Thanks, Elizabeth! Very educational:)
I really hate dim lights (in any situation) and was so frustrated that the midwives were constantly turning off lights in our room during nighttime when I was in labour. I felt much more comfortable in a well lighted room.
Love all your videos! so helpful 💛💛
Thank you for this! This video will be soooo helpful for my first birth. I'm due in January!
I’m going to take my mom with me when this baby comes out in about 1,5 months 😳
So she is the one I talk to about my birth and who knows what I want.
So crazy how time flies!
But honestly by know I just want this baby out. I want my body back and I want space for my organs 🙈 And of course I want to cuddle my baby
Definitely helpful. Thanks!!
I'm "due" tomorrow, it's a just waiting game now.
Good luck! I hope everything goes well!
Gooood luck!!! Hope all goes well 🙏
how did it go?
I’m over 40 weeks pregnant with my first child .. I’m going to give birth alone .. which to me now seems like not a big deal and maybe even less embarrassing.. but I haven’t heard anyone recommend this at all .. Which makes me upset and a little nervous too ..
You will not be alone. People all over the world will be giving birth at the same time as you! 💕
This was super helpful thanks!
Thank you for the information
Love you for that
Peanuts ball is life. I didn't need it til Baby 3 but man it works
7 months pregnant with my first! Trying to go all natural!
Rosalie and Jordan are 4 months tomorrow! Jordan is ringing it in by partying all night and refusing sleep lol 😂
I’m glad we’re in good company 😅
Love your channel I'm 28+4 with my baby girl we are actually naming her Elizabeth x
37 weeks and I am ready for her to be here! Definitely want to try laboring in bathtub. Hopefully that helps
You are so animated, and I love it 🤣❤️❤️
Amazing! Thank you!!
Love your videos! ❤
💗💗
Youre the best! Thanks so much
💗💗
8 weeks left
I got 7 weeks left and 2 days :)
Same here!! 😍🙌🏼
You are a gem
Thanks
I'm actually pretty surprised to hear such good tips from a hospital nurse - I've been kind of under the impression that what they generally do is just strap you on your back, pump you with drugs, tell you not to push til the doctor comes, and let you tear.
Yikes how terrible :(
I think it depends on the philosophy of your birthing unit.
I thought that too but luckily my hospital is awesome and super low intervention. So I think it just depends on the birthing unit.
There is, thankfully, a big shift in the culture surrounding birth and medicine.
Thank you!
Zabe, you are awesome!
Aw, thanks ☺️
Just what I needed to prep
Yay!!
You remind me of Drew Barrymore... Especially the way you speak🙂👍
something I wonder about when watching your videos and others is, it sounds like even if everything goes well and the baby is born without anyone getting hurt, very often there's still something wrong with the baby's heartrate at some point because it's just hard physically.
This is a brilliant video - thank you! Also, you look fab! You’d never be able to tell you recently had a baby
I’m only 9 weeks and I’m so excited for labor!!! I enjoy it! Lol weird I know.
Ooops! I clicked the like button before I even started playing the video 😅
No shame in the like game!
My 6 month old daughter needed to be induced (water broke but contractions didn't start) so I had to be monitored and my child wouldn't let herself be monitored unless I was laying down, on my back it sucked
Wow same here! Water broke and he just wasn't budging.
