Coming from After Effects and at least a decade worth of 3D experience, Resolve is my new favourite software, thank you for this amazing content, you've opened my eyes even further, I wasnt aware of the keyframe editor or how powerful Resolve's spline editor was. I'm looking forward to my next production.
Thank you for your help! I broke my head looking for diamonds style (Premiere) keyframes to detailed edit. Seriously, the keyframe edit in Davinci are strongly more powerful than Premiere. Thanks again!
Your teaching is outstanding !!! So helpful... but your personality and you’re humor are insane. You create an amazing, subtle, uncomfortable... yet hilarious tension... talking to the camera in a way that makes me somehow feel involved. Epic !!! And all while teaching a computer program. Learning and Laughing !!!! Thanks so much for all of the great content !!! Love It !!!
Casey Faris, of course... I’m honored to help in any way that I can. I’m a huge fan !!! It’s not easy to describe your subtle and fun humor... but this comedy routine is in the ballpark. : ) “The Audition” from Mr.Show with Bob and David. ruclips.net/video/y-ZNX1jqbOk/видео.html
Thanks. Please can you do a tut on copying and pasting 1 and multiple keyframes. There is nothing out there on this. Is there also another way to jump to next keyframe ( keyboard short cut ?? ) without having to always go over to the inspector window to click on the next keyframe arrow and then move back to the keyframe or spline editor. There should be some quicker way to jump to next keyframe without having to constantly bounce between the 2 windows. Thanks again for your great videos.
THANKYOU CASEY!! This is exactly what i wanted haha. Clean, simple, concise explanation around how to go about operating fusion keyframes. Really appreciate it mate, thanks :)
thank you for this, I am pretty much used to the blender keyframes , there we can animate and keyframe in realtime , then smooth it out, i think we can do the same in da Vinci as well
Casey, thank you for this video and for other helpful videos!!! Much appreciated! I'm sure understanding keyframes is a fundamental knowledge in Fusion and It was always confusing. Now I guess I understand it much better!
Hey Casey, great video as always, I love all your tutorials. Unfortunately, I'm still searching a way to import a fusion template (let's say, a simple animated title) on a timeline, and then fix the keyframes of that fusion animation. I mean, a clip of the timeline maybe is starting at frame "3450", but my Fusion preset has frame "0" as a starting point as always. How do I "scale" that so it will start at the frame of the clip?
Great tutorial, many thanks... Can you make a simple whiteboard tutorial? A transparent png of a hand writing (masking) a text or image..? There is no tutorial for DaVinci about Whitboard on RUclips..!
So my question is why would you ever not work in the spline panel? What does the key frame panel offer that you can't do in the spline? As always thanks for your content! 👍💪
Great Tutorial! I also liked very much the automatically added sound effects. How did you activated the swish sounds which came in sync with the transitions?
When I select the inspector in the Fusion page there is no video tab to add keyframes... I can add keyframes in the Edit page, but they do not show up in Fusion. Can anyone help?
I’m taking a chance cause I haven’t watched the full video yet, but I’m bouncing around videos trying to find one on how to make beziers like how premiere has for their key frames when you right click on them, any tips on how to recreate that in Davinci as easy as it is in premiere?
Awesome video man, thank you! Can anyone point me to a tutorial on how to line things up with audio in Fusion? I can't figure out how to see the audio waveform anywhere. Thanks!
Is there a way to automate momentum loss? Say that I want to animate a bouncing ball that looses energy over time. Is there an expression I can use to animate that gradual loss of energy, or do I need to do math to calculate how much it loses with each bounce and key frame it myself?
Does anybody know if the Davinchi Program changed the setting on the keyframe layer I tried creating a simple title animation and adding in my nodes, however when I went into Keyframe Panel or Spline the layer displays do not show up.
Ouuu man, tell me how to see text tracking keyframes in timeline? I know in AE, but here in Davinci it is completely different picture. Why is so hard to find them?
What about paint, Im trying to remove something with paint tool and then transform the image. I can either do the whole area with stroke or frame by frame with multistroke, what if i want to do between frame 1-500 but not 500 to 1000 do I have to use multistroke and do one at a time?
Does this work for the 3d camera as well? I was getting really frustrated as the only way I could find to change the speed of the camera on the z axis is by messing with the spline, but messing with that changes the trajectory of the camera...it's super aggravating. I hope this works. I guess I'll try it.
How do you make the keyframe window in fusion go back to looking like it did in 16? not a huge fan of this as it's causing me more confusion IMO. EDIT: NM that's the spline channel! I like working in that better. lol ty!
Ey man. How can I animated this type of thing but with the "extend clip" in "time line". For example: if I need that the fusion clip only works 10 seconds with all these effects, but in another moment I need that only works at 30 seconds but with the same effects, and only changes the "time effect". I don't know, it's like a "Title effects library" that doesn't matter how long is the clip....
I am trying to develop a text macro using fusion. Got it all OK except how do I get access to "character level styling" when I wish to use the macro title in the timeline. In fusion when I wish to edit a particular character I select it and a green box apears around it. On the timeline I cannot select any of the text.
hey any tips on animating an ellipse x and y? i just started working with resolve from ae, really struggling.the x & y keep seperating and i cant select the bezier handles?
Thank god, I've been looking for ways to navigate keyframes in resolve. Honestly, compared to the adobe apps (specially AE) the keyframe controls are complete aids. But seeing this, I see I can totally get by.
My challenge isn't so much adding keyframes as shortcuts. I need a shortcut or something to click quickly in the timeline so I can add a keyframe. Specifically I'm trying to edit audio levels as clips come up that have voice in them. I need to lower levels of audio under them.
I swear davinci resolve keyframes system is possibly the 1 thing that would make me not recommend this app at all, despite having 95% of the features better than the competition, the keyframe system, they just won't make it good, they add so many good thing but the keyframes are confusion
Instead of repeating same "Press F" ease in out, show us the actual tool. Tell us what tool is used for that. Shortcut doesn't give me idea what tool it did. I've noticed this bad habit in many of your videos.
the keyframes are a NIGHTMARE TO WORK WITH if you have loads of keyframes in fusion it LOOKS LIKE ITS A BAR CODE!!?? i dont like fusion its SOO damn confusing like WHY NODES!!?? if they say this is the industry standard then i just feel bad for the industry

Woahh. That's cool. Great video. Very clear and covers all the basics without too much useless filler. Thanks.
Looking all over to edit keyframes in the Fusion Page. This tutorial is exactly what I was looking for. Complete snd easily explained.
best Resolve trainer. always appreciated
Thank you for your help! I broke my head looking for diamonds style (Premiere) keyframes to detailed edit. Seriously, the keyframe edit in Davinci are strongly more powerful than Premiere. Thanks again!
As a newbie I really apprciate the power of the keyframe and spline editors. You did a good job showing us how they work.
After struggeling with keyframes a bit, this is the video I needed. Thank you! 🙂

Thanks for sharing this tips! opens a new world of posibilities
On my way to become a content creator and all I wanna say is... thank God for you bc I was close to crying lmfaooo

Thank you for making this video. DaVinci Resolve does have a learning curve. Thanks for making it less steeper.
YESS!!! Thank you so much casey for filling my request. You are the best!!!
Hello Casey, this video has been very useful for me. Thank you so much. I wish you a good weekend. Greetings from Türkiye...
You could press a button to re-size a whole animation sequence? Or simply press F to change all the keyframes' momentum?? I had no idea, thank you!
There ya go! I had no idea you could set an In and Out for a node. Awesome!
THANK YOU SO SO MUCH FOR THIS VIDEO!!! I literally don know what i would do without your videos!!
Thanks for the lesson, Casey. I appreciate you.
great video, I learned a lot in a short time, thank you!
Casey!
Is there a way to copy keyframes from one transform node to another? Can't believe this is so difficult, haha
THANKYOU CASEY!! This is exactly what i wanted haha. Clean, simple, concise explanation around how to go about operating fusion keyframes. Really appreciate it mate, thanks :)
Thanx again, man. Your tutorials are so clear, even for somebody like me who hasn't been growing up with computers 😁
Happy greetingz, Wim
Nicely explained. Thanks Casey!
thank you for this, I am pretty much used to the blender keyframes , there we can animate and keyframe in realtime , then smooth it out, i think we can do the same in da Vinci as well
absolutely goated video! so helpful!
Thank you so much for this!
Very helpful! Great job!

Very needed video, thank you so much!
Really helpful, thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
You're the best, again
Having a bad day? Watch ANY video on this channel and it’ll chase the blues away!!

I'm having a similar problem with the keyframes when I import into fusion

Amazing vid thanks
Thankyou so much I was so confused on keyframes and I couldnt find them as well LMAO
Thank you.
your channel is good.....but try making a step by step "basic controls" videos.............. like this one helped me a lot... thanks a lot!
Why are there no keynotes next to my options in fushion?
how to duplicate several keyframes with size, position etc. ctrl C only works for single keyframes. alt + drag doesn't work
Thanks alot

Thank you, once again!
How much ram do you have in your computer (is it a mac?), and how much ram in the GPU? Pleeease tell meee
(everything runs soooo nice)

Love the vids btw

Is there a way to apply this to a video instead of text, like say, to your webcam footage if your doing gaming videos??

Is this free version?
I imported a pre-set fusion composition but cant see anything on the display when I press play??? can any one help me?

How do I remove a single axis of a position spline
Hello great With a new amazing video
How did you get so many frames? I only see 79 frames and I don't know how to get more
hey any tips on animating an ellipse x and y? i just started working with resolve from ae, really struggling.the x & y keep seperating and i cant select the bezier handles?
Anyone know how to animate pictures/media in fusion when it comes to positioning? I can only figure out how to animate by key frame with text :(
Thank god, I've been looking for ways to navigate keyframes in resolve.
Honestly, compared to the adobe apps (specially AE) the keyframe controls are complete aids. But seeing this, I see I can totally get by.
i searched and searched and searched but found nothing, now i can die in piece XD
Damn, if davinci resolve was a religion you would be the prophet.
My challenge isn't so much adding keyframes as shortcuts. I need a shortcut or something to click quickly in the timeline so I can add a keyframe. Specifically I'm trying to edit audio levels as clips come up that have voice in them. I need to lower levels of audio under them.
Nice👍
Man I am liking Fusion / DaVinci but they "Really" need a more intuitive keyframe system its like somebody used an Atri to design it.
I swear davinci resolve keyframes system is possibly the 1 thing that would make me not recommend this app at all, despite having 95% of the features better than the competition, the keyframe system, they just won't make it good, they add so many good thing but the keyframes are confusion
its fun editing keyframes in a 2x2 square. Great work Black magic resolve.... jesus can you fix basic shit...
Only being able to select a keyframe on a channel you don't have selected it so ass backwards.. so many odd choices made by blackmagic
"Keyframe is just telling resolve that you want certain number at a certain time". Couldn't have made it easier.
Instead of repeating same "Press F" ease in out, show us the actual tool. Tell us what tool is used for that. Shortcut doesn't give me idea what tool it did. I've noticed this bad habit in many of your videos.
I'm first

god i dont understand this company... they cannot create a logical keyframe system for anything.
