    Dude you have no idea the kind of epiphany I had with this video, I've been working in the production side of VFX for more than 15 years (the artists I work and have worked with use mostly Nuke) and have a pretty good notion of how things work at an empirical level, when I started fooling around with Fusion after leaving After Effects to make cool videos with my kids I felt completely lost. Moving from layers to a tree was overwhelming. Watching this unlocked what I needed to know to start applying what I know, Thanks man!

    Thank you. I took the toast analogy and use water flowing in a pipe line. Then I add valves to add in the effects to the main pipeline. Helped me understand Fusion without the calories. 😊

    I have been subscribed for over a year. Excellent video in showing how to sequence things in terms of nodes and merges. The advanced section was a bit complicated so I would need to watch it several more times and then try it out. The best way to learn is by doing. So I need to do things several times to get a better grasp of things. You have clarified a number of things so far. Right now I am using Cyberlink Power Director and I will try out some of what I did there in DaVinci.

    You how to look at Nodes really helped me; Media goes through Effects, Media is Merged with other Media, and Mask Nodes controls where Merges and Effects go. Images are Nodes. I think I've got it. Hopefully when I look at this in Fusion and try to create something it won't be as bad as toast with chicken, yogurt, skittles, and sprinkles.

I've been wanting to move my animation filter process from after effects to resolve and this helped me wrap my head around the process. pretty much was able to get it setup within an hour or so. there are a few things i didn't see inside fusion like exposure control, but can find a different solution for that step.

    10:42 shouldn't toasted part of the bread also be circular as a result of an applied mask on the merge node?

    • @gia4169
      @gia4169 Месяц назад

      No, because the mask is only applied to the jelly node. If it was applied to the toaster node as well, then yes, the toasted area would be circular.
