    Summary:
    1. Sleep Problems: Melatonin, chamomile, and lavender are all things that can help you snooze peacefully. However, magnesium is the ultimate relaxation mineral. Magnesium helps to relax your mind and body, both of which contribute to a restful sleep. Furthermore, magnesium is required for proper function of the GABA receptors in your brain. GABA is the neurotransmitter that allows the brain to transition to a restful state giving you a more peaceful sleep.
    2. Osteoporosis: You likely know that vitamins can lessen your risk of developing osteoporosis, specifically vitamins D and K. But magnesium deficient people are also at a higher risk of developing this condition that weakens your bones and puts you at a higher risk of fractures. But getting enough magnesium can help in more ways than one.
    3. Muscle spasms and cramps: With the rise of workout culture, more people are aware that muscle cramps are a sign of magnesium deficiency. Magnesium plays a crucial role in helping your muscles relax and regulate muscle contractions. You might have tried an Epsom salt bath after an intense gym session which is another form of this important mineral: magnesium sulfate. And a deficiency can cause physical effects far beyond cramping, like tremors and even seizures.
    4. Mental Disorders: Mental disorders are another possible consequence of magnesium deficiency. These include apathy, which is characterized by mental numbness or lack of emotion. Worsened deficiency may even lead to delirium and coma.

Applying magnesium as a spray is the best way to get the amount you need
      Magnesium Chloride flakes

Spray on your body on your legs before you go to sleep at night

You can spray it on before your shower leave for a half hour to an hour and then have your shower
Your body will absorb what it needs
You’re limited on how much magnesium you can take orally you can’t overdose, but if you take too much, you’ll be running to the bathroom, whereas the skin absorbs it readily

*Some foods high in magnesium include:
pumpkin seeds, cashew butter, dried prunes, beans, avocados, almonds, chickpeas, edamame & dark chocolate.
Something they didn't mention is that magnesium is key to producing glutathione, an extremely important antioxidant necessary for vital immune system functions & protection of immune cells.
Magnesium is also necessary for the absorption of calcium. It keeps calcium dissolved in the blood and without it, calcium builds up and leaves deposits in the kidneys, arteries and joints, causing a myriad of health issues.

Was rushed into hospital with dehydration and stage 4 kidney disease. Before I went into hospital I had dizziness, breathlessness, and dry kidneys to the point they were crispy even though I was drinking plenty the colour drained from my face and I had an irregular heartbeat like my heart was coming out of my chest. I did have migraines for years but since being in hospital I was deficient of magnesium and I'm now topped up and feel 10 times better than I did before. I was sleeping nearly 18 hours out of 24 now my sleeping is normal and I don't feel tired all of the time. Magnesium is very underestimated on it's importance. As someone that's worked in a warehouse for over 3 years and walks about 20 miles a day and that gets stressed out easily. My peak heart rate was around 144 -156 bpm. But after taking magnesium. My peak heart rate at work is often 118-125 bpm. Still high for me, but a huge improvement just by taking magnesium. That and it's easier to go to sleep now and I rarely get leg cramps now, big plus.

When you are vitamin d deficient, your electrolytes like magnesium, sodium, potassium go out of balance and you start getting a lot of symptoms. So the first thing to do is to test your vitamin d levels. Only taking magnesium supplements is not going to solve the problem.
I used to have depression, restless legs, insomnia and then finally diagnosed diabetes and was put on insulin. Magnesium used to help temporarily. But after I started taking high doses of vitamin d, things started to normalize. At the same time I started a multivitamin for diabetes (that also contains 100mg magnesium), and within a year my BS stays almost normal.

Bananas contain this mineral magnesium, but did you know that the skin of the banana contains almost as much of it as does the fruit itself? The skin can be prepared by washing the banana first and after removing its skin and eating its fruit, cut off the hard end parts of its skin and then cut the long strips into small pieces and pickling them in a mixture of salty water with vinegar. compress them in a glass jar. Keep them for a week in the fridge and expect the color to turn dark brown. Then add the pieces to a salad of fresh vegetables and enjoy!

I remedy by 1) going to E.R. if the tics are really bad and nonstop off and on for a week, then they IV infused 2g of magnesium sulfate diluted. 2) I take more magnesium citrate or whatever supplement I have, 3) I finally got magnesium gluconate prescribed for 500mg per day but I want to discuss upping it to 1000mg daily as bioavailabilty rate can reduce it to the mg I need.

I had the eyelid twitches, constipation, muscle cramps/spasms, migraines, high BP, fatigue, anxiety, serious sugar cravings, tingling in my hands & feet (like they "fell asleep"), irregular heartbeat, depression & body/joint pain, before reading an article that linked all of these symptoms w/ low magnesium levels. It also said that the vast majority of people have low magnesium levels- even those who are conscientious about eating a healthy, balanced diet. So I started supplementing magnesium and over time, I've had great results! 😁👍 It took a couple years(!!!) before I noticed real results in overcoming all of these issues, & if I'm honest, I'm still dealing with anxiety, high BP & occasional constipation. But typically if I notice any of these symptoms, it's usually because I have forgotten to take my magnesium for a few days, & they improve, once I get back on track w/ supplementation.

I later found out that one of my medications would cause Magnesium deficiency, so I take my medication in the morning and the magnesium later after supper. But now I see that it can also affect my bones and I have had some fractures of my ribs and some minor degeneration in my shoulders for which I added Calcium with vitamin D. I'm thinking I should maybe increase my magnesium intake. I'll look up the recommended dosages before doing that.
