After 2 months of continuous practicing, I finally can do the splits on both sides! Im so happy! :) I was a very inflexible and had backaches before I started yoga. And now, I can do the splits! Im so proud of myself :) If I can achieve it, you guys can too
Farije Arifi It depends on how flexible you are. If you're just a beginner, try to stretch about 3 days a week(each day 1 time and hold each stretch for 30 seconds- each stretch 2-4 sets) You'll find that you'll become more flexible. If that so, try to stretch everyday and try to struggle doing it and i believe that you'll soon get the splits.

Yes. Just as most people have one dominant side of their body (like right-handed or left-handed people), most people are also more flexible on one side. However, be sure to stretch both sides of your body while exercising.
you have to work the weaker side harder but in general, it's so important to stretch it is a very important part of a workout as far as I'm concerned, the flexibility we gain from it will benefit us when we are older I'm a former dancer but I still continue to stretch even if my dancing days are over, I now teach students and pass on my years of experience to people who want to improve that area of their fitness, I have quite a few tutorials on my YT channel for all levels from stretching for beginners to the more advanced how to split & middle splits, all tutorials have different methods depending on your levels

Wow I didn't realise that the video had ended .It was relaxing for me and I could see I went down but I just hope that when I do for the next two days I will be able to touch the ground(that shows I am not patient) but dreams come true hopefully . l defiantly would recommend this video

My ashiatsu therapist advised me my piriformis muscles needed intense stretching as I was holding so much tension there, this is the video I have been searching for! Using the blankets was a huge help! I plan to do this routine at least 2 times a week, I'll update you on my progress.

Hey girls, I've been doing these exercises along some others from PSYCHETRUTH for like 2 weeks, everyday and I've never been more flexible in my life. I can easily put my head on my leg and so on. But, I have a problem in my left leg, in my calf and hamstring area. It has become stiff and hurts for like 3 days when I try to put the head on my left leg. Can you guys help me?! Should I stop? PLEEEASE, I need your help.
Farije Arifi Me too. I'm 16 by the way. Just don't despair. Try to stretch everyday without pushing yourself. Just relax and breath slowly. i'm doing that and my hamstring aren't stiff like before but i can still feel the stiff. Try to stretch 2 times/(1 time to prevent you from getting bored) a day and every stretch do it about 2-4 sets and hold each stretch for 60 seconds.

Being ridiculously inflexible (to the point where just sitting up with my legs out straight is a challenge let alone touching my toes!) I've always felt the need to get better with my flexibility. This video is awesome but in some respects is too challenging for me (even with a pile of blankets/ pet dog for support) ... is there any video out there that can deal with the hopelessly inelastic?
It's when if u r close or have your splits u but a pillow or anything u like and put your front leg on whatever u chose and it gives u a better stretch. So ya that's what I wanted u to do a vid about and if u do gymnastics can u also do a video in gymnastic tutorials Thanks
haha, Hey I DO try the moves! Well a few of them, mostly cat-cow, downward dog, and child's pose. But I admit, sometimes I do like to play 80's tunes while watching your vids. Y'all go well with Lauper and Banatar....and especially Def Leppard :)
Seriously, ya'll should do a dance video flashdance style like that scene in "love is a battlefield" where all the chicks are doing choreographed dancing really angry-like while covered in crazy 80's attire. Then at the end you can splash water in Mike's face just like Pat does to the pimp. haha
Hi, Thanks for the video. I was once able to do both center and regular splits but had bad muscle injury and I stopped stretching, doing yoga and excising all together. I am now doing bikram as well as some pilates and I want to go back to my old, stretched me. I am pretty close to doing regular splits but further than ever when even attempting a center split. My inner thigh muscles are very tight and stiff, they get constantly injured during my yoga practice and I have no idea how to stretch them. The pain that I feel when tiring to stretch my inner thighs is very severe, not a regular stretching pain. Could you show a routine that can be done daily and is gentle yet effective in stretching those injured inner thigh muscles? I couldn't find such thing online. I would appreciate your help!

Whenever I do stretches for splits, I start to cry because it's hurting. I'm so much further from " beginner" and by that I mean "less than beginer".

When it hurts, stop stretching for some days, then start again. After that you should feel better. At least for me it works.

I thought over splits is when u do splits but even further into a V type shape?!
PsycheTruth It's the splits going beyond 180 degrees. Over splits can be done in the frontal splits or center.

I always warm up before stretching. It works better then and the risks are lower, so I can only recommend warming up! :)
Are there easier stretches? I cannot even straighten my leg while pulling or holding my toe or feet :(
