This video is WONDERFUL. I have tried so many different splits/flexibility stretching videos and this one I felt the most while also being able to control how much of a stretch I was getting without pushing too hard. Anyone of any skill level can do this video and adjust it to suit your flexibility. I got a really nice stretch from this and while I've still got quite a way to go, my progress pictures from today after doing this stretch are much better compared to my pictures from a few days ago after following a different stretch video.. Soo this one has definitely worked best for me! Thank you for being so informative and also applying the resistance technique (contracting muscle, then stretching it towards you) in a couple of the stretches. You explained all the techniques so well! :) xx

Catherine is definitely one of my favourite PsycheTruth teachers! She explains really well and places emphasis on keeping your muscles engaged while stretching (which is really important to prevent injuries, and which I don't see in many videos). So first of all, thank you Catherine! And secondly, it would be amazing if you could make a video specifically for center splits!
Before this video my spilts were 10 inches off the ground, after my spilts were 6 inches off the ground. Hopefully next week there will be more improvements. Thank you :)

Oops, I used to do that stretch at 15:13 without keeping my knee safe, actively resisting that hand. Thank you so much for mentioning that!! Nobody I'd watched even mentioned it. Neither that at 15:43 about which side to pull it. Very useful info! Thanks again!

Great instructional! There are a lot of videos out there that don't tell you how to place the hips or where to point the toes to avoid hip damage etc. but you covered it. Thank you so much!
I love this stretching reutien! Having 3 sets of splits 60-90 secs at the end was a great way to push me reaching my flexibility and mental goals. I'm right handed and can already do both left and right splits (right somewhat comfortably, left harder to ease into because of right hip flexor) with such a deep stretch, I mentally struggle holding the splits. Your video, Catherine, helped me push through the entire duration and hold longer than my normal 15 seconds I'll definitely revisit this video
Can I just say your videos are both very informative and encouraging. I'm getting interested in ballet as an adult and your videos are so helpful! I was one of those kids who wanted to do ballet, gymnastics, etc but who's parents didn't have the money to or didn't want to pay for the classes, etc. I had one ballet video as a child that I'd watch over and over again trying to learn but because my parents discouraged me and said "you have to be naturally thin and graceful to dance", I set aside any hopes of learning to dance. Then of course, I ended up gaining a lot of weight and was made fun of for it at home. I actually believed all the lies being told to me. Now I'm getting back into shape and learning as much as I can online until I feel comfortable with going to a class in person. Thank you so much for posting this!
This Was very good for me! I used to be very flexible 3 years ago, but then I gave up on it..My mom wants to put me in gymnastics and lately I've started to try to gain my flexibility back! This helped me get closer to my splits in only 30 minutes! Amazing! I'm going to do this every day and see where it gets me!

Thank you for this detailed and easy to follow video. I teach ballet for kids and I recommended this video to all my students. I have done splits for years but my left leg is weaker than my right so it never looks like a perfect line. These stretching exercises really help.
thkx! I nearly do it and when I reach bottom my knees bend:( Hope I get it soon though I don't practise everyday due to my daily busy routine ! in addition, the warm ups of getting splits are quite difficult. Do I have to make warm-up before the split's warm-up?
It really helps to warmup before stretching. A jog, a few jumping jacks, jumprope, make it fun! The problem of your knees bending is a very common issue, stretch both legs before attempting.
this has really helped me with my flexibility as i am not a flexible person, i have not yet gotten my splits but i'm going to try and do these stretches and all of that stuff every day
I didn't think this would work I've watched so many other videos and they didn't work and I kept getting fusterated but then I watched this one and it was so relaxing and helpful and I corrected so many mistakes that I've learned/been doing from other videos. I didn't get my splits but I feel so good that it feels like I did I'm so relaxed and I'm going to do this for a while and see if this works thank you so much
I am right handed. I can almost touch the floor with my left leg extended. But, I can NOT do the split at all with my right foot extended, I'm really far from the floor!!!

I did it for a week every day sometimes twice. I also play soccer so that probably helped but after my third time doing it when I stood up my thighs weren't touching and as I got more and more of my split it just got wider and wider.
Thanks for this video. I have been doing it for three weeks now and have my full oversplits on two blocks on my good leg and one block on my bad leg! Before I couldn't even do a flat split!
Psychetruth and Catherine I am left handed but by right leg is more flexible so there might be inverse correlation (inverse relationship between hand and leg flexibility). To the point the explanation are very logical and clear && I understand the poses: moving forward while maintaining straight posture && square hips && push and release. . I struggle through the last two poses and unable to achieve a full split - it would take 6 month to get there but I will get there since progress is inevitable if you practice every day. I do it daily after work and run. At the job I am often mobile with occasional sitting and bending. Stretches work You guys are wonderful. Thank you sincerely && you are like a virtual family

I am 17 now. I have been dancing since I was 5, and I still do not have my full splits. I have had them before, but it takes time, and breathing. Once you get your splits, you must continue to stretch every day, becuase you will begin tonlose that flexibility. Just continue to stretch more often, and take care of your body so it will have the nutrition it needs. Stay positive
I've tried other stretching videos that I did for about a week and it took so long to get just a little bit lower on my splits. Today is the first time I am stretching with this video and it got me lower in just one day!😱I hope i can get my splits in a week❤

It all depends on your body and how close you were when you started. If you believe in yourself and stretch correctly , it shouldn't take very long

Don't say that! Yes you can. It takes time, go at your own pace. Don't push yourself too hard or else you'll hurt yourself.
Just believe in ur self remember it will hurt but it's worth it in the end
