      Oh I’m glad you liked it! I am loving making this one. Not as much time now that I’m back at work, but it’s not really shawl weather anyway. 😆

    Of course I'm going to say that I want you to make both versions of the matchy matchy sewing club top. If I was forced to pick a favorite, I would go with the first. I think you're going to love the design though and make both!

      Haha, just one for now... might save the other remnants for a sewfrugal make!! 😉

    Always so excited to see a video from you Sarah, love the pants and the MN dress save. I think both combos work for the top but would swap the pattern to the front not hide it behind you on the second combo. Cant wait to see the outcome. 🤗

    Great makes as always. ❤ the view you made of the pants. Very interesting design element at the ankle. Nice save with your dress. It will be a wonderful summer statement dress and it might look good over a plain turtleneck and tights for winter. I ❤ both options for your tank. Such beautiful fabrics either will be wonderful so maybe you will have to make both. Your knitted shawl looks stunning but I doubt I'd have enough 'stick to it' to complete the project 😂.

      Thanks Nancy! Isn't it a great pants pattern? Yes I am really hoping to get some good wear out of the floreat dress now, as I love the print so much. It's funny - I never thought I'd be able to knit something like this, but honestly I am finding it SO fun and addictive! I enjoy it each time I pick it up! And I'm trying to not put a timeline on it, but just enjoying it for as long as it takes.

    Lovely to see you again Sarah. You've nailed your style with that shorts suit and those trousers. The dress looks better without sleeves, so that was an easy fix and great to be able to wear it once more.
    I really like the second duo of fabric remnants for that top, I think they work really well together and to get a nice surprise on the back too with the print. 😊

    Good on you for taking a second chance at a jumpsuit. Me, no. Was a kid with a long torso that was forced to wear one, you can imagine the discomfort. Enough to never wear these again, it is to my chagrin these are popular again! Oh well 😂. Nice save on the dress, and the navy combo for the cute shirt. Great job, love pants details…..

    Sarah! Your pants are lovely and I've been looking at that pattern wondering how it compares to others. Your comments on the fit around the back have pretty much sold me on them. Plus, I love that barrel leg look. So glad you shared. That shawl looks amazing. What a great way to learn new stitches. Very impressive! I'm currently knitting the weekend slipover by petite knit, learning new things as always with her patterns. Both options for the peplum top look lovely...I say make them both! x

I have started on my first peplum top - if I love it I might make the second one too! It's going to 35 degrees here on Monday - I feel like it could be the perfect top for the weather. Thanks for watching and your lovely comment as usual! xx

    I love your Durban Jumpsuit and you pants are so nice. I was very tempted to buy this pattern when it came out but I wasn't sure if it would suit me. It looks so nice on you. I love seeing your makes and plans. Your scarf is beautiful ❤

      @SoSarahSewed  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks Katrina! The interesting thing about the Durban is that there are so many views, I'm sure there's probably one to suit everyone's style! I have seen a lot of them I like on instagram - I also like the long pant version. I highly recommend this shawl pattern if you're looking for a fun pattern - I was telling my mum all holidays how fun it was and trying to get her to knit along with me! Unfortunately, she doesn't wear shawls, so opted out. 😆

    I love your pants - must look into that pattern. Good job with your jumpsuit shorts (I am a long waisted person and bought some jumpsuit patterns and am worried about the issue of crotch etc so am still scared to take it on so good on you.) I am finally taking the plunge on swimwear and am cutting out the Cottesloe today and also worried about the length in the body - but it has been so hot in Queensland and I have had to force myself to sew. So good to have another Aussie sewer on RUclips.

    • @SoSarahSewed
      @SoSarahSewed  7 месяцев назад

      Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Yes, I really did love making the Chanterelle pants - they have lots of lovely details and I love the fit of them. Jumpsuits are hard! It's not something that I often see people post about - if anything, I usually see people saying they're REDUCING the rise. But I need comfort and to be able to sit / write on a white board / hang out the washing / put away dishes etc etc etc without worrying about being uncomfortable. I love the look of the Cottesloe pattern! Good luck with it!

    I love the 2nd combo, I think the doops would make a great top on it's own. I made the Chanterelle pants and got caught out with the finished ease being so very different with each pant version and had to make my seams skinnier to fit😂. I'm going to make my second pair in viscose for summer.

    • @SoSarahSewed
      @SoSarahSewed  7 месяцев назад +1

      Thanks June, I think I'm leaning with you on the peplum top. I do think I have enough of the doops to make the top without needing to add other fabric in, so I might do that. It's such a fun print. Oh yes, I think there is a lot more ease in the wide leg of the chanterelle - the view B is quite a slim fit isn't it? So good to find a pants pattern you're happy with though!

    I’ve been sewing for over 40 years and I would recommend Style Arc patterns to you for your style even though you might find the instructions too sparse, there are more sewalongs on RUclips for style arc. In terms of getting better fit on garments I’d recommend using Itch to Stitch and Love Notions as they help with fitting.

      I do love the look of Style Arc patterns - I've only ever made their Hope Dress and should give another a go! Itch to Stitch and Love Notions I haven't actually tried - I should branch out this year! Thank you for watching. ☺️

    Love the jumpsuit, love the dress, (really!) love the pants (they're still on my list!) and love the shawl. I haven't knit a nice big shawl in a while, but I currently have two sweaters languishing on the needles, so I should probably finish them first. I keep reaching for socks instead because they're just so pick-up-and-put-down-able in small pockets of time! I have been thinking a lot about the Matchy Matchy Perfect Puff Sleeve Top, which I think would also look great with some kind of colour blocking. For your Peplum Tank, I think I prefer the darker blue linen with the pop of pink in the patterned contrast, but I wonder if that linen would also go with the rainbows... How many Peplum Tanks do you need? 🤔 Love to see what you're up to. Great make as always. 💙

    • @SoSarahSewed
      @SoSarahSewed  7 месяцев назад

      Glad you loved everything - thank you so much! I've actually never knitted any socks before - I find them intimidating! I am loving knitting the shawl - I guess not having any time pressure /deadline is keeping it just fun and so enjoyable! Plus I really love working with a fade and seeing the colours shifting and changing constantly. I think I'm leaning that way with the peplum top - I've seen next Sunday's forecast is another warm one so maybe I'll make that next after all and save the sweater for later in the month... we'll see!!

    • @bravelittlebuckaroo
      @bravelittlebuckaroo 7 месяцев назад

      It took me several tries over a few years to get the hang of socks. I gave up multiple times, but it was youtube tutorials by Denise from EarththonesGirl that finally clicked for me. Super thorough and step by step. Now I can just about do it with my eyes closed! We're in the midst of yet another heatwave here in Perth, so there's no way I'm putting any more rows on my jumpers just yet!

    Lovely chanterelle s ! Glad you were able to rescue the MN dress. I had a similar experience when I made the darling ranges dress from a first release printed pattern. I contacted them and they sent me the redrafted pdf and the bodice were very different. I wonder if the dress was 9n the same block maybe? I love the large scale floral with the blue linen as a combo for your top!

    • @SoSarahSewed
      @SoSarahSewed  7 месяцев назад

      Oh that is so interesting about your darling ranges experience! It was a very disappointing experience for me... it's not a pattern that has had a lot of makes on instagram so I haven't read many reviews about it. Hopefully my experience can help some other people! Thanks for your peplum top input - I think I'm leaning that way at the moment!

    I enjoyed your video and the pieces you made are lovely. Just a suggestion to fix the crotch issues on both of the jumpsuits. To add more room sew a deeper crotch seam on the front to back seam just around the crotch area. To take up some of the extra fabric take it in on the inseam across the crotch 4-6 inches on each side of the crotch and blend into the inseam on the legs. Try a little at a time for both until you have a better fit.
