I’ve always loved the humble Niva.
I had a Lada as my first car back in the late 70’s - a round head lighted model and it even had a crank to start the engine in case the battery ever went flat.
What a lovely car that was. Heavy steering was its only downside.
Since owning that car I’ve always been a fan of Lada but I have a special desire for a Niva Bronco.
I just with they would return to England and sell them new here.
I looked online the other day and it seems that Lada have dropped off the European sales, too.
I’d rather have the Niva than the Jimny.

I agree with you Trevorfoggia. Such excellent and unpretentious cars that have been the butt of jokes - but then they have no knowledge of this very practical and good value car.
I sincerely hope that the company will continue to make the Niva. Being a UK enthusiast has also brought new pals through spares purchases.
      Long may they continue.
Thanks to the team at Lada Power who present so many quality videos.

You may try to use your break pedal with left foot during step on the gas with the right one to lock the Torsen in diagonals. I think thats how to deal with Torsen. In the niva case perhaps the hand brake would do the job too because it seems both front tyres are always grounded.

Very good video showing you what the Torsens can do vs open diffs.
Not the best for diagonal or wheel in the air as you showed but can be overcome with left foot brake or traction control.
Another good point is that they work ALL THE TIME even when braking and in reverse.
Selectable full diff locks dont, some even unlock when going backwards and are of course much more expensive than Torsens.
Overall value for money and usefulness Torsens are very good

У Уазиков аналогичная проблема кстати, но Уаз просто начал ставить ЕСП, он прихватит буксующее колесо и момент уйдёт на противоположное. Не всем машинам ЕСП помогает выехать, но Уазу помогает.

Detroit in the rear and ARB in the front. My favorite combination. With dual ARB the rear would get locked often where I run. So the full time Detroit suits me best for the back and I lock the ARB for only the toughest obstacles and turn it back off. Personally I'd never for one second consider anything less than full on locking diffs for an offroad vehicle.

This is true in many but not in all cases. Some tires (e.g. Simex Centipede profile) are far too aggressive for the Niva resulting in axle breaks. And when your flex is maxed out and tires are not on the ground, you are stuck. Then you need four people hanging on the side of Niva to give it enough weight that the tire hits the ground.
