    If anyone was still wondering about the border 16 stitches to 14 stitches thing, it's because she is doing a slip stitch edge. You slip the first stitch and purl the last stitch of every row so the edge is smooth.

    I've been looking through blanket videos for days. Thank you! This is exactly what I was looking for. Simple. Versatile. And clear instructions! Everyone wants to crochet blankets but they're holey and ugly! This is beautiful! I'm using Bernat blanket yarn which is most popular in the crochet crowd. I'm so excited! I'm going to do exactly what you said and knit a swatch to see how many stitches to the inch. Thank you again!

    You're heaven sent really! Before your videos knitting and crocheting seemed so difficult, but now I'm starting to understand the stitches and I'm gonna start actual real projects very soon. I'm still a beginner though. But I want to do this blanket so badly! It's so pretty! Thank you for your videos and you blog. I'll send you a picture when I finish my first project (which could take quite a while since I have a lot of stuff going on) because all the ones I have in mind are inspired by your videos.
    Thank you very much!

    Thanks Chandi! This pattern looks like it will be another fav! I would love to see more videos of on stitches. It has been really hard to find video tutorials with continental knitters and you are a great teacher! I have been a crocheter all my life but you taught me to knit :) Examples would be YO, S1K2P, KYOK, K2tog, KFB where it makes a difference on which side its on. Thanks again Chandi!

      Thea Stewart I so desperately want to be a continental knitter but I just can't seem to get the continental purl to work for me. I have been an avid crocheter for years so holding the working yarn my right hand feels so alien.

    • @theastewart6721
      @theastewart6721 7 лет назад +1

      I can understand that. Just keep practicing. I've got the purls down. I switched to Continental years ago. There are some tutorials out there that can teach you different ways to purls using the Continental method. I think one may be the Norwegian purl. Do a search. It involves moving your needle more but it keeps good tension. It is great for ribbing. I don't really use it because my tension is good but I'm glad to know the stitch. Get online and search these out. There are many. Hope this helps. Good luck!!

    It’s a *great* idea to knit a blanket and send it to Australia. We are 5 days into 2020 and half of the country is burning down. Half a billion animals have tragically died, and blankets are being accepted for the animals that barely managed to escape but got sent to veterinary centres.

    I don't needle knit, but seems I can convert to loom small gauge. I have two merino sport yarn in gray so that I will use maybe for light slouchy hat, shawl or something. it isn't cheap if I remember so I have to find perfect use or buy some more in teal and white when possible. This pattern is very similar to many loom afghans. just want to say its beautiful. I do love those needles.

    This is a beautiful blanket and extra special for babies because of the variety of textures. Do you have any suggestions of what to knit in order to practice Jeny's extra stretchy bind-off? Hi. I'm a beginner at knitting but I do know how to do a knit stitch and a purl stitch and I guess I'll watch some videos on how to use circular needles in knitting. I want to knit a baby blanket for my daughter who is expecting a boy in October. I'm a pretty slow knitter because I've only been knitting for a couple of months. Do you think I have time to complete a baby blanket by August which is when the baby shower is or even by October when the baby arrives? I learned knitting from your videos and absolutely love them. Thank you for sharing your expertise with others who want to learn knitting.

    I have a quick question…I noticed on your “border edges” each row changed from 16 to 15 to 14 at the ends of each row…is there a reason they aren’t the same number of border stitches?

    • @ExpressionFiberArts
      @ExpressionFiberArts  2 года назад +1

      Hi Beverly, thank you for your question.
      Each side of the border actually has 15 sts throughout. The difference of sts remaining (that you see in the pattern instructions) are just a result of the stitch pattern repeat. The amount of border stitches is not changing.
      Hope this makes sense and is helpful.

      I don't have a specific pattern tutorial for a baby blanket with a knitted on border. There is this shawl that has a knitted on border that might useful. I'll link the video here: ruclips.net/video/UYhEXHeBYHE/видео.html

    Love the color choices! Will definitely have to get this pattern. I had a question for you on counting rows, do you count the row on your needles? I have seen different videos that say you do and some say you don't. I don't as I feel that row hasn't been worked yet. You're adorable and I enjoy your videos so much.

      +Dieanna Mercurio I count the stitches on my needle, yes, but different patterns might say different things. :)

    Hey, Shandi! I’ve been a subscriber for about a year now & I just want to say thank you for your videos! I thoroughly enjoy watching them and knitting/crocheting along. I’m also subscribed to your newsletter & a website customer.
    Do you happen to have any knit and/or crocheted bikini or halter top patterns? I’d love to see you do a video on those! Thank you for everything you do.
    Best,
    Kat

    Are there any other types of yarn that would give this blanket a similar look and feel?

    If I wanted to use 4 colors instead of 3,,but continue using a different stitch for each stripe,,what would you suggest as a good stitch for my 4th stripe~?? I'm very new to knitting and self taught(your videos have taught me a LOT~Thank you !!)and I just don't have enough techniques down to memory to come up with an extra stitch so I can use 4 colors !!

      I would use 4 colors, but just repeat those stitch patterns. Hope this helps! ❤️

    Made 1 already. I love it 💖. What is the stitch count?? I'd like to make a wee bit smaller one 😊. My daughter is expecting twin boys in May ❤️❤️
