Total Time: 3 1/2 Hours. I work with several brushes when I am applying the Balayage technique. V-sections are best created with thin brushes to create fine detailing, similar to a highlighted look. Today, I used smaller sectioning to create more detail.

Balayage is a free hand painting technique used to create natural looking dimension and highlights through out the hair. Balayage is a French word that means to sweep or paint.

I have a client coming and she’s African-American. What volume do I use with the basic white bleach. I never did African-American. I’ve only done white hair so if someone can help me, I appreciate it.

Yea she really went and messed it up before she could even get in the car and go home. Kinda disappointing cause she did a really great job on her hair. At least wake up the next morning with it messed up lol.

I think h ends are fine. She just needs her ends moisturized Anand oiled.

I WOULD HAVE put in a vol 10 color at a SHADE slightly lighter than her base after the bleach, to smudge the color to the root so it's ISN'T so blunt with the bleach color and natural hair color, then a blue toner to cool it down slightly, under certain lighting conditions, SHE WILL look orange vs golden... Good overall technique, but an emphasis on gloss at roots and toner to close at the end of the process.

@@janaeraquelmiller Totally! it came out beautiful overall, those are just minor suggestions to throw in your mental arsenal of tools :) A cap full of Olaplex is also good to throw in your bleach mix tp greatly reduce overall process damage and you can also create an upsell with your client's hair aftercare in place of traditional conditioners with Olaplex serums you can create with other post hair care routine :)
