  • One of the issues I see most with new guys in the trades is not having their bags set up for efficiency of work flow. Having the tools and fasteners you need in a convenient and logical spot will lock in muscles memory causing natural efficiency of work with those tools.
    The bags that I use and show in this video were purchased from bagdertoolbelts.com

    I guess I need to come up with a Badger RUclips account to follow with! I’d you don’t recognize the pic, it’s me when I worked at McDonalds for maybe a week in 1989. You can see the pride. Thanks for the shout out and in depth tour. Much appreciated!!👊

    Tape measure on the right for a right-handed. My reasoning is.......
    When cutting lumber, you stand towards the right side of what you're cutting (stud or rafter, ect). Left hand on wood, right hand on saw. With this cutting position, you will most likely be throwing your tape towards the left (right hand holds the tape, left throws the tape). Same thing when marking layout, millwork, ect. Right hand holds the tape, left hand throws tape (typically).

      I find the flow of using the pencil, tape, speed square as a right handed persons works better with the tape on the right side.

    I’m thinking of buying a badger toolbelt, I’m currently with Occidental. Did it take a while to get used to wearing the belt up higher and does it fall below your belt line? Or would suspenders be a good idea? I don’t always wear mine.

    • @ByronBuildsOfficial
      @ByronBuildsOfficial  Год назад +1

      I’ve always worn my belt higher. Having no ass makes where it lower painful in the hips. I’ve tried suspender on other belt but switching to the badger made the fit so much better that suspenders weren’t needed.

    Hey man what's the brand

  • @clovisprojectdiy
    @clovisprojectdiy Год назад

    Right hand on tape, shooting to the left is the most efficient way to do it in the "western" world. If you're reading your language from left to right, then it should simply be worked that way. People think I'm handed awkward when they see, tape, square, and chalk line, and hammer all on my right. I'm left handed with a pencil, so thats my "finesse" side... Loose fasteners, marking tools, knives, and smaller squeezers. Shoot to the left, read from the left, work from the left.

    • @ByronBuildsOfficial
      @ByronBuildsOfficial  Год назад

      However if you are right handed you will be marking with that hand to be precise. That puts the tape in your left hand and the number are upside down or your arms are crossed. Tools don’t function in accordance with “western” or culture normative so more in-depth thought should be given to practicality of use.

    Why are you carrying that torpedo level when you are using a Martinez speed square? It can literally do all the same things as a torpedo level can do

    • @ByronBuildsOfficial

      Stabila torpedo is going to have greater accuracy than a speed square with a bubble. Martinez for determining pitch not for verifying plumb/level
