I love how he is not ashamed or in denial for his rom-com roles. This man is so iconic. And takes those interviews really serious. No goofing around with Matthew.
There is two stories he tells of it. One has to do with a live doors album where I think it's jim morrison or someone on the album says "alright, alright, alright, alright" like a few times... Who knows at this point which one is actually the story behind it. And I don't think matt remembers at this point either haha.
The only thing I can come up with is maybe there was a certain amount of time allotted for this interview and there wasn't enough time... however I agree, if they are going to do something like this, give the man plenty of time!!
Currently watching True Detective for the first time and oh my gosh this man is great! I don’t think I’ve ever truly paid attention to him as a serious actor, but I have a new respect for him.
The first time I saw Matthew was in the video for "Walkaway Joe" by Trisha Yearwood featuring Don Henley. The first time I saw him in a movie, I fell in love with his voice. That's my "Rhett" sound!! Be still my heart!!
Sahara! Tropic Thunder! Interstellar! Seriously? They think we can’t handle more than a few minutes of MM? Is there an extended Director’s Cut of this?
Mud is hands down his best role and performance ever, because it is both completely up his alley as this kinda charming southern outlaw, but also not up his alley, because the outlaw is not just charming, but just kind of an odd man.
I'm bummed Interstellar got a Magic Mike Dallas "no, no, no, no, no" for this video. It would've been cool to hear McConaughey's insight into some of the most emotional scenes of his entire career. As for Buster Moon, I've only seen Sing 2, but it's odd to me that an actor like McConaughey who has such an iconic voice would not just do his own voice when cast in a voice role. That's like if Morgan Freeman had chosen to do some other voice for his role in The Lego Movie.
I came here to see if anyone else noticed lol I mean vanity fair does something similar but at least their segment name is different from GQ's. (Also VF gets a pass cuz that segment has been around for a longtime where as this feels like hitching to GQ's success)
Hes the only person i know who was losing his hair at a pretty toung age as you can see in the wedding planner and i heard he shaved his head bald and would put this special treatment and rub it all over his head every night and eventually it grew back a lot fuller
I read all the Dirk Pitt novels because of Sahara. People tool on it because it didn't make back it's production. That's just bad planning or execution. He was a great Dirk Pitt, and William H. Macy was a perfect Sandecker. Steve Zahn is a good actor but not Al (sorry - Steve = not your fault). The "Panama" scene ? They sailed an airplane!

This is why Ut Austin made him a professor.
Loved hearing the back story of “alright alright alright”

Dang, they skipped a bucket load of great movies. Mud, Lincoln Lawyer, Wolf of Wall Street, Tropic Thunder, freaking Interstellar.
Whaaaat! How can they skip those!
The only thing I can come up with is maybe there was a certain amount of time allotted for this interview and there wasn't enough time... however I agree, if they are going to do something like this, give the man plenty of time!!
How dare you skip Interstellar!!
Killer Joe, Mud, and The Gentlemen
The Lincoln lawyer
Thanks for telling us. Now I don't have to watch.

Matthew is such an incredible actor and he seems like such a genuine person
One of my favorite actors. I admire he's a fly. man & thinks of his kids when making a movie
The Wedding Planner is my favorite RomCom of his. JLo and him were great!
The lamest of his movies
It’s definitely a corny movie but I’ve always loved it too. 😊
Haven’t seen half of these films, but I watched the full video because I like the sound of his voice
How To Lose A Guy In 10 Days willl ALWAYS be my fav Matthew romcom movie!!! ❤

Season One of True Detective is one of, if not the best, T.V shows I have ever seen.
Sahara! Tropic Thunder! Interstellar! Seriously? They think we can’t handle more than a few minutes of MM? Is there an extended Director’s Cut of this?

Did you steal GQs video series
where is contact?!
Imagine if he was a part of the Invincible cast
Doesn’t GQ do the exact same thing?
I came here to see if anyone else noticed lol I mean vanity fair does something similar but at least their segment name is different from GQ's. (Also VF gets a pass cuz that segment has been around for a longtime where as this feels like hitching to GQ's success)
