Auto Gang I am always looking for more ppl with first gen IS300’s to watch
I’m grabbing an is300 in the next few weeks. So fucking stoked. I’ve seen this video at minimum 50 times.
Means a lot brother ! Some suspension mods and it’ll be the best handling sedan on the road
GREAT CONTENT ! LOVE YOUR FEED, FAVORITE CAR PAGE ON RUclips !!!!
Union Tpke vibes LOL, repping Queens my man 👌🏽
Highly recommend you buy a broadway rear view mirror, you can see all the traffic behind you including your blind spots
Sounds perfect
Sounds dope 🙌
Nice. Sound
your car is so nice bro i’m about to buy one for myself and build it up
Bro you would never believe it I have a is300 now and it’s actually super clean, crazy that I commented that a year ago
@@cartergriffith55this is amazing. Congratulations fam, hope I can do the same in the future! How’s the car going? What have you done to it so far?
your car is so nice bro i’m about to get one for myself and build it up.
Thanks for listing parts (may need those megan braces).
transnd best thing I bought for this car tbh , really see the difference in cornering especially paired with the eibach sway bars literally a track monster
@@Chrisonboost Good to hear bc the initial impression I had of the one I purchaed with 100k stock was a very heavy nose on tight bends (slight push on everything else). Was install difficult? I ultimately want a 3sge for balance, much lighter and shorter, so will probably just turbo the engine thats in it for the meantime.
transnd the Megan h brace made the biggest difference tbh it really stiffens the car up , install was super easy I did it on the floor everything lines up perfectly.
I'm just trying to get pops and bangs before I take the GE out lol. Will it pop full straight pipe I'm not wasting money on headers ?
7:23
justin poopan facts gotta keep a slushee on hand
This sounds like the same set up as mine almost exactly and that's how i drove when i first got it high revving to get it pop lol
Michael Beaudo she was fun while she lasted
@@Chrisonboost ahh dont scare me like that haha im having too much fun with it rn!Did it blow up or get in an accident?
Michael Beaudo it blew up on the highway put 3 holes in the block and tore the connecting rod straight off piston number 6 look at my recent vid I show it
Damn that block got fucked up i hoon it pretty hard im hoping this isnt how mine ends up but i would go the same route if it happened or maybe Beams swap then turbo kit later on
Michael Beaudo pretty sure I ran it without oil don’t worry the na 2jzs are bulletproof im just a idiot
You can tell nyc streets apart without looking at street names or number plates
Faiyaz you can tell by his driving lol
What kind of stereo set up are you running? Looks like Apple car play
Sounds good.... I'm a proud owner of an 06 Hawkeye Sti.... Might consider selling to get myself one of these is300 but manual transmission lol. Way more reliable than any subi plus I'll have extra money left over lol
hate how you're trying so hard to shift like its a manual car but this video is still dope
I have the same car. Mines is having the flashing ac light trouble. I just purchased an ac and has it installed, the light keeps flashing in the Inside And the ac blows hot. I have no idea what it can be
All you did was a rear cat delete and muffler delete?? Nothing with the headers or resonator?
😍😍
i want that head unit so bad
how do ur car sound look that with the pops
YOOOO so do you shift to L just to feel like it’s manual?? I wanna find out cause I loved doing that in my corolla and I haven’t broken it yet lmao, but I want these is300 so bad, idc if it’s auto I actually love both manual and auto.
Also wow wtf the gear ratios for manual and auto aren’t too far apart in these cars huh?
How much hp ??
Didn't know the autos shifted that well
Yeah I can rev match downshift in mine
They don’t lol usually you need a tune these cars have the slowest shifting stock
@@washington_supply6738 Cars are made to be modified
@@Gone_Rogue300 well no fucking shit
@@washingtonsupply3967 Duh! It’s not fucken rocket science!
Na 2j sounds better than non NA 2j change my mind
link to the intake?
I need the setup I’m coppin a Is300 tomorrow tryna make it sound like that shits sounds boosted but is na what 😭😭 I need that
Are you going to boost the car when you swap in the 1jz ?
Adrian Vargas 1jz comes factory turbo
Tryna do a na build on my gs300
Is the is300 expensive overall ? Maintenance , modifications , registration , etc ? I really want this to be my first car but my dad thinks just because it’s a lexus it’s “expensive” and “unreliable” i’ve heard these cars are reliable.
My first car was an is300. If you get an automatic they’re cheap, but if you want a manual one be ready to pay 7k+. For the most part they’re very reliable and parts are cheap. I had issues with the throttle body on mine but that was pretty much the extent of it (it’s still something to keep in mind though and ask the owner about if you do end up looking at one) Also the gas mileage isn’t the best. They have a lot of aftermarket support though so finding mods is easy. Overall it was a great first car and I would recommend it
It's resoanably priced for what your getting I'll tell you that. Love my IS she just drink alot gas. Best to buy a auto 01 so you can have money left over to replace the old suspension components. Then swap it with a stronger transmission.
Extremely reliable. Like way up there, maintenance is that of any other car, change the oil and blah blah blah not that bad on cost, insurance is a little bit more than what you would expect for the year/miles but that is because Lexus is luxury. And 2jz mods are very very very abundant, so the price on such mods aren't outrageous. 5 grand for the car and an extra grand on parts and you have yourself a 400+ hp car
The is300 is basically a Toyota, and Toyotas are known for their reliability. It’s a nice little car, basically as reliable as it gets except for a brand new off the lot car, (maybe even more reliable once you refresh it). The interior is obviously dated, but build quality is great. No rattles, materials feel nice (except for sticky dash). The car looks good and unique. It handles quite well stock, but it’s quite soft. It’s engine sounds good, runs super smooth, and it’s super reliable. Mods are abundant. Parts are pretty cheap. It’s simple to work on for the most part (especially compared to euro/modern cars). Rear wheel drive so it can be fun.
It’s basically the perfect starter enthusiast car.
Cheap, reliable, fun, look good, moddable, etc.
The big caveat is that they’re often beat on by the owners. The cars can take some abuse, but every car will wear out if it’s driven hard.
I would only buy one in good condition though.
If you find a low mileage (100k or less), grandma owned is300 it’s basically the best car you can buy. I found one with 90k miles, clean title, 1 owner, grandma owned, stack of maintenance records, for $5000 and it’s been the best car I’ve ever owned. I had a modified 335i and a 400whp MK7 GTI and the is300 is great. With a couple handling mods (notably thicker sway bars), and a new head unit it’s an amazing car.
It sits in that sweet spot in terms of car tiers. You don’t want to buy a $1500 yaris because you know it’s been neglected since the car was owned by a person who wanted the cheapest thing that gets them around. You also don’t want to buy a full on luxury/sports car since the repairs can be costly, and they’re generally less reliable.
A lower milage 1/2 owner is300 is generally owned by someone who enjoys a nice car and has money to be able to fix it. They’re gonna keep it in good shape.
I think that unless you don’t have enough money to buy a better car, don’t go for the cheapest econoboxes you can find. There’s a reason why a pretty low milage 2017 Chevy Cruzes go for like $6000 at a used dealer. They’re built poorly and cheaply. It’s also much more likely that the owner of a cheap economy car is not very attached to the car, and they spend as little as possible to fix it.
Basically after all of that rambling, the is300 sits in the perfect spot of being a fun car that attracts car enthusiasts who take the best care of their car, while not being an over complicated powerful sports car so it retains its reliability. It’s an important fact since even the most reliable cars will break if the owner doesn’t care for it.
Is300s will run for 300,000+ miles if regular maintenance is done. Nothing is really separating the is300s reliably from the reliability of any other car.
Thank you all so much for the help, info and new things im learning. I posted that comment a year ago and didn’t know that much, now i am informed and yes i still want an is300 as my first car bc it looks awesome
Nice! Check out my turbo straight pipe is300!
Legend says he is still trying look cool in a automatic trans. This is the type that think they are cool but are truly not. Just swap the Trans. Don't be a cornball
Cars been 1jz swapped and manual swapped …….. worry about your own car brother all love anyway
How’d you get the pop sound?
George O’Banyoun the car had a misfire but it ran a little rich at times
I have a 2jz cressida that makes 900hp from a 2jzge vvti that i build only doing:
Cams/springs
shimless buckets
heads studs/gte mls gasket
connecting rods
bearings and pistion rings
pistons depends on the condtions.
simple and safe spent 8k and made 900hp on the drap easy 600hp on tune 1 easy and reliable and safe but pushes too 900hp but dont know how long that could last for ahaahaha
Enjoy hope this helps
bro I just want 490hp on mine. What can I do to get that? Haven’t really done any mods besides intakes and it’s a 5speed manual.
@@shiftautomotive854 build the bottom end can also slap a gte head on it you'll make 500hp
what transmission do you have?
What exhaust do u have
Nananuker Playz rear muffler and cat delete
How do u got the after market wheel but still have control over 4th and 5th gear?
He is using the shifter to force it to go into lower gears
@Quantummmm Yea but if u know an is300 that's auto doesn't have 4th gear on the shifter homie once u put it from 3rd gear to manual mode u got to use your steering wheel buttons to control 4th n 5th
i was wondering the same thing, i think he doesn't, he's just giving it gas so it doesn't go to 5
Sounds good but it feels wrong not hearing that turbo.
That is NA no turbo brother
Am i the only one that hears a turbo
What part of nyc I’ll bring my is out lol

Junior romero the ge can’t really hold boost only around 8 psi max
@@Chrisonboost A 2jzge can hold boost very well. With a fuel pump, internals, and a standalone ecu they are bulletproof. Speaking from experience
