i've seen four live action doomsdays now and the one that's been most comics-accurate in origin and appearance was actually the one from the short-lived "krypton" show
@vinsanity40k wasnt the krypton one made by the Kryptoians. The original was made to terraform Krypton into the planet their species could live on. Krypton was the embodiment of a death world before doomsday.
I don't want him to die. He is such a great character. Tyler is my favorite all around Superman. Very relatable and to be honest i'm not ready and neither is the show for "Superboy". No thanks.

*I am shocked how good 'Superman & Lois' is.* *Also, I've never cared more about Kal-El's wellbeing. It's gonna be truly heartbreaking when he's killed. This Clark Kent is an amazing role model, and husband, and father. Despite how badly he's been physically harmed these past three seasons, and despite how close to death he has been as a result of the actions of several villains, he still went out of his way to try NOT to kill them. Which is why I love this Superman. And yes, I know he didn't try not to kill Doomsday, but there is virtually no humanity left to save in this case. Again, I love this Superman. /Applause to this show -- can't wait for Season 4.*
The amount of foreshadowing since S2 about doomsday I knew it wouldn't have been Connor just yet. "Now's not the time to go all doomsday on me" the suit bizzaro first wore, him coming back from the dead from Bruno's experiments and then feasting on things like he's back to primitive..... though I must say, poor Clark "bizzaro Clark" he really hasn't had a good time since his world went to chaos
I'd love to see Season 4 go into Death/Rebirth of Superman. Imagine if season 4 picks up around a year later, Jordan has gotten a lot better at the hero gig and is the resident Superhero. Clark is presumed dead but spends the first few episodes regaining his powers/strength. (Arrowverse Black Suit?) He returns and Jordan has a growing rivalry with Lex and Clark has to learn to re-integrate and treat Jordan as more of an equal hero. The series could end with Lex in DoD lock up, Clark putting the red and blue suit back on, Jordan getting a full-on Superboy suit, and Doom-zarro returning to the good side and living somewhere on a different planet/world.
Haven’t watch a ton of this show lately. Just pretty busy and unable to watch. But I binged the season to watch this episode. Man, I really hope this show gets a good ending. It deserves it.
After the defeat of Mannheim, the plot conveniently forgot about retrieving Bizarro's body. I wished they had at least wrote in a few lines about looking for the body in the rubble of Mannheim's hideout but couldn't find it.
Could you imagine? While fighting, Doomsday tears Kal's cape, burns his suit till It turns black and then Clark tosses him into to the Sun, but not before being stabed through the heart, so he Just floats there, around the sun, being healed, for months, growing a mullet until he comes back
This show is so fluckin amazing!!! Love all of these characters and its gonna suck if next season is the last definitely feels like theyre setting it up ,😭
Ministry! N.W.O.! Seeing that cassette tape in Lex's collection was........❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ OMG! WHAT AM INCREDIBLE SEASON FINALE!!! Best Superman series ever!
I always wanted it to end with an adaptation of a story, like Up in the Sky or something, but if the whole last season is an adaptation of The Death of Superman, that could be awesome, even though it would probably leave Clark with a smaller part. If they do adapt the whole thing, maybe it could just be the first half of the season or something, and the rest is a Superman & Lois vs. Luthor story.
I love Superman stories where he is being challenged in ways where him being Superman means very little... Being Superman doesnt help him being a father, it doesnt help when Lois gets cancer and stuff like that..
I caught a lot of Reeve's films and Smallville throwbacks. Superman 1 throwbacks: Luthor's lair in a subway, Otis and Ms. Tessmaucher archetypes- even the theme of Luthor in prison and in a jumpsuit. Superman 2: Fight in a city with people standing nearby watching the fight, taking the fight bellow surfaces and people on street seeing the sewer mains jump up. Superman 4: Here's where it gets really meta. So in Superman 4, Lex escapes from prison and attempts to kill superman by cloning him. In a deleted scene, Lex's first attempt to clone superman was Bizzaro (the full scene is on youtube). In both, Lex sends Bizzaro to kill Superman. When that attempt fails, (again shown in the deleted scenes) Lex and his nephew take the genetic material of their first failed necular man, but this time infuse it with necular power to create Necular Man (2)- but, still, this Necular man is still genetically made from Superman's DNA. One of the major fight scenes between Superman and Necular man was on the moon. Smallville- playing the song at the end during the fight is how many episodes of Smallville ended in the early 2000s, it appears Bizzaro's S and costume infused into his skin, but visually, the S kind of appears burned into his chest, similar to how Clark on Smallville had the symbol burned into his chest, the emphasis on the meteor shower happening in Smallville, now here's where it gets meta, in Smallville season 6 and 7, Bizzaro was a phantom zone wraith that cloned with Clark's DNA to create an imperfect copy. We are not told much about Bizzaro's Kryptonian origins, but from Martian Manhunter we are told that he is worst and most dangerous threat in contrast to all of the other phantoms that escaped in season 6, and that he was basically a failed experiment to which MM states he was poor "imitation". Later in season 8 we learn that Zod and Foara took their genetic DNA, combined it with deadly lifeforms on Krypton, and attached that material to Kal-ELs spacecraft which later turned into the husk which would become Davis Bloom, who was a clone of Zod and who was meant to become the vessel of Zod. The Kryptonian experiment which would become Davis sounds awful similar to the failed and discarded experiment which became Bizarro. Smallville never made the link between Bizarro and Doomsday prominent, but with most of its mythology it left a lot of the greys to be imagined and filled in by its viewership. The two were separate entities but it is implied that both were essentially cloning experimentations from Krypton and that both projects experimented with combining kryptonian DNA with other lifeforms, I am just making the leap that the cloning process that eventually became Davis is connected to the process that was used to create Bizarro (which again is similar to Quest where cloning attempt 1 = Bizzaro and cloning attempt 2 = Nucular Man). Finally, Lex's scene turning Bizzaro into Doomsday is very similar to the Bloodline episode of season 8 where Foara talks to Davis and then kills him to bring him closer to becoming Doomsday.
Clark name dropped Del Portenza. Saying she took over Luther Corp So Luther Corp was still thriving while Lex was in jail. Contessa Erica Alexanda Del Portenza is a DC character who could appear in S4.
i think they created doomsday for this because they weren't sure if the show would come back after. So literally doomsday, the end has come. Fortunately, there's another season
I know it’s sacrilegious to say, because Christopher Reeve IS SuperMan, but like- Tyler Hoechlin might’ve dethroned him in my eyes. I was so desensitized to any SuperMan media for my nearly entire life, then SuperMan and Lois starts- a show I was expecting to be terrible- and it winds up my second favourite tv show ever made. This show made me fall in love with the SuperMan mythos again, and I’m so sad to see it end next season.
I have always had this on my mind in the past seasons of the show, wondering if they're ever going to do like that one animated DC movie called the Death of Superman. We might have Jordan getting a new suit probably with the S added and both of the steel suits upgraded with the S as well. All of them pitching in on doing the savings around the world with Superman out of commission.
And if they do go with this topic of killing off Superman for a bit, I would feel bad for Jordan cuz he's listening to his father fight this battle that he might not survive and he would probably hear his father his father's last breath again.
The thing with this show that has always been odd is that it seems to exist in a universe where there are no other heroes. No Batman, no Wonder Woman, no Flash, no Cyborg, etc. Superman is seemingly the only famous hero. We have a Kal-El that spends a ton of time being Clark Kent, and then selectively chooses when to be Superman when it involves his family, hometown, or something that affects him personally. It is a Kal-El that seems to be okay with crime happening while he deals with Clark stuff. In the comic book version, Kal spends more time being Superman than he does Clark. He regularly leans on his relationships with the other heroes. It would be great if they could at least allow Kal/Clark to make comments to Lois such as "Let me see if Bruce knows anything about this..." or "Sorry, the rest of the team needs me, be back soon..." They don't need to appear but at least acknowledge they exist or something! It just seems off to have a Superrman without other heroes in their universe.
It's implied that Stephen Amell's Green Arrow existed in that universe. Hopefully we get to have flashbacks of this earth's Green Arrow. The Superman & Lois writers were asked to sneak some Arrowverse into the show. I hope that Batman, Black Canary, Green Arrow, Quentin Lance, and Supergirl appear with Warren Christie, Katie Cassidy, Stephen Amell, Paul Blackthorne, and Melissa Benoist reprising their roles. I hope Batman appears where he gets inspired to become a vigilante again after isolating himself from the world due to killing the Joker and Batman has history with Lex, Lois, Lana, and Clark. I hope we get to see flashbacks of Green Arrow, Lance, and the Black Canary working together with Superman. I hope that Lex pits Kara against Clark similar to what Earth-38 Lex did in season 4 of Supergirl where Earth-TUD25's Lex turns Clark's cousin (whom Clark thought was dead) against him.
They said the CGI for the remaining episodes of season 3 might be a lil off but to be honest it was actually good Doomsday looked terrifying asf , I just can’t wait for that fight on the Moon.
So glad this got renewed. Like Eric I could _probably_ have made this work as a "the fight never ends" style finale but man, i'm happy I don't have to. And decimating the supporting cast would be the death knell for most other shows but i'm optimistic _this_ creative team can make it work.
Regarding Sam and what the actor has said, it would probably be easiest to kill him off, but I kind of hope they don't. I have a feeling next season will be the last one and it'd be nice if he could come back for the series finale.
With that epic cliffhanger, i wonder if it will be like the dial-in-vote to decide jason todds robin fate, lives or dies. Im wondering if the cliffhanger comes back with supes dying like in the comics or breaking canon and surviving. Good fan incentive to bring it back for another season.
Nothing better for any SUPERMAN movie or teevee show than to revisit the always fresh and original DEATH OF SUPERMAN story line in which the usual criticisms of Superman for being too powerful , too indestructible, can brilliantly be refuted with the captivating spectacle of shoeing Superman being brutally and violently beaten to death in colorful bone smashing detail. Who could ask for more then to see the supposedly totality invulnerable Superman beaten into thr grave in full bloody technicolor brain smashing majesty. The perfect crowd pleasing climax to Any Superman series. How great for the rewatching value of a multi season collection, you can go back and rewatch the early season episodes happy in the knowledge that eventually Superman is gonna get beaten to bone smashing death! Woohoo!
How we ever thought that the Inverse Superman became Bizzaro, then he became Doomsday. They pull the Death of Superman and Superman v. Batman in that fight scene.
The fight better continue next season. I don’t want season 4 to start with: “3 Months Later.” Because the budget is cut I’m worried they won’t show the ending of the fight.
Omg I just finished the episode!!! Omg that is how it ends This show is amazing!!!!! I do not like that many characters won't be back in season 4. This show is amazing!!!! Where a lot of shows went on to long this one needs to be longer and with the whole cast❤
i really love that Lex Luthor has only been out of prison for about a month and he already found a way to kill superman. i bet Bruno is sitting in prison right now, thinking "Damn, i wish i thought of that". he's probably gonna get out. i bet doomsday is gonna end up falling on the prison, breaking a large portion of the building and Bruno and whatever is left of intergang is just gonna walk out along with a whole bunch of other criminals, intergang is probably gonna be getting alot bigger and worse. and dont forget we still got Lex Luthor. he is gonna do something terrible of course. its awesome, i never saw a lex luthor this pissed off, its brilliant. this is a rare thing called good television
Hey guys great reaction. I don’t know if they’ve said it in this show, but you can tell Eric is a big smallville fan becouse it also three hours away from three hours away from the to I mean Smallville to Metropolis
Lex couldnt think of everything. His move that would ensure victory would be to keep Kal the hell away from space. Kryptonians are ridiculously OP in space in close proximity to a yellow sun.
I have been with this show the whole way, and holy effin shit, the finale was epic af! yeah I thought we'd get the resolution to this and then the episode ended and I was like nooooooooooo! I am glad we are getting a season 4!
@Blind Wave, this version of Doomsday isa combo of Firefist from " Deadpool"& Doctor Manhatten from "Watchmen"? During the fight near the tracks by lighting up his bare fist& levitating lifting Superman off the ground with ease like Doctor Manhatten,ha?.
Sam could play the part of Cyborg Superman for this adaptation of the Death of Superman/Reign of the Supermen. Him been captured by Lex just before Clark's fight with Doomsday doesn't seem like a coincidence.
I'm guessing that they fight on the moon, meteor shower comes in, and breaks up the fight. Both fall back to earth. Superman lands, dies. Doomsday lands and is severely dismembered because of a new meteor rock. Takes awhile to fully heal. Superman is taken to the fortress by the DOD and his family in the hopes of bringing him back/healing him. It doesn't work. So the DOD works with Manheim to make an improved version of the serum. Normally lois and her father wouldn't agree to this but they know that there isn't another option. Especially if they believe that doomsday is still out there protecting lex. Manhiem agrees to do this on the grounds of his release when he succeeds. Superman comes back, doomsday is fully healed. They both fight but this time Jordan attempts to help his dad, not wanting to lose him again but nearly dies himself (finally learning what it means to be a hero). Superman gets protective and uses a new weapon that irons/his daughter and Manheim comes up with. Effectively negating the regenerative properties in the creature. Or perhaps they make a new weapon based off of peia's (Manheim wife) abilities to tear the creature apart on the molecular level. This could easily be the first 3-4 episodes. The remaining episodes would be based on lex, Superman, and something with a new metor rock that could set up another villan. Perhaps, Kara (supermans cousin) is brought to earth in the meteor shower and she is used as a key to saving clark and aids him in the battle with doomsday as well. I would love to see brainiac as the next villan. It could be an AI that's built into Kara's ship, lex gets a hold of it and turns it into brainiac.
They missed something big about Jordan's behavior. When someone knows what Sarah knows, his behavior risks causing existential dread in others that ends up being persistant. Sarah may have thought Jordan could flip out any moment.
lex will get to the point next season where he goes for Lois thinking she's completely vulnerable, then Jordan ruin his plans and this version of lex seems to have no idea that Clark is Superman yet.
Re: your poll question .... Doesn't Doomsday always result in the death of Superman? When Clark turns his family and friends away on main street in Smallville, I feel Tyler really conveyed that "we might never be together again" vibe because he might die. Lex's words shook him. For me the problem is that they already did the World Without Superman thing when Kal was gone / stuck on that square earth. I hope some writers are working out the possibilities in their private time while this strike is going on (and get paid for it when they come back).

That last shot is my new background. Spectacular!
Best live action depiction of Doomsday ever
I prefer Krypton’s Doomsday ngl
i've seen four live action doomsdays now and the one that's been most comics-accurate in origin and appearance was actually the one from the short-lived "krypton" show
@vinsanity40k wasnt the krypton one made by the Kryptoians. The original was made to terraform Krypton into the planet their species could live on. Krypton was the embodiment of a death world before doomsday.
Best Superman, and the best Superman live action media. Its crazy how consistently amazing this show is, especially for a CW Show. 🎉
I don't want him to die. He is such a great character. Tyler is my favorite all around Superman. Very relatable and to be honest i'm not ready and neither is the show for "Superboy". No thanks.
Do Really Think He's Goin To Die, Really Cuz I Don't 🤷
Well, there's Steel, Tal-Rho/Erradicator...
@ivanagustinortiz5237 erradicator was season 1 but if it is death of superman then hell be back
The gun and other weapons Luthor used were X-K weapons, which could kill bizzaro and krptonians from bizzaro world.
Incredible finale, can’t wait for Season 4 though the supporting cast being cut for 10 episodes worry me that maybe this might just be the least interesting season episode to episode. I’ve not been disappointed thus far but the supporting cast is also why I was invested in most/if not all the storylines. From Sara & Jordan to Kyle & Lana this season I’ve not been annoyed at all. Time will tell though.. 💙❤️
the only cast member cut completly out of seaon 4 is sam lane is dylan walsh the rest of the cast are demoted to reoccuring characters. which i belive sam lane will die mostly likely horrible death
I think what's gonna happen is Sam is gonna die at the end of S4 E1. They wrap his arc up while still keeping him just as that "guest star" status
@@pkmntrainerian1092If they do that I wonder how Jordan will react 😬
These writers know how to do a superman story that isn't about him being stronger than everyone I love it,
You dont seem to understand Superman very well still, he is stronger than everyone, secret (he’s holding back), thats why they went to the moon…
@@harlemsha I know that and there's also people stronger than him other than Darksied superman can't fight Dr fate since he's weak to magic, or better yet the Lords of Order themselves
*I am shocked how good 'Superman & Lois' is.*
*Also, I've never cared more about Kal-El's wellbeing.
I love how much these two care for this character and this show
The doomsday design and fight scene was really good. Can’t wait for Season four. At least there’s that new Superman Cartoon next week.
the fight on the moon seemed like a nod to superman 4 with nuclear man 😄
I love the doomsday fight and can’t wait to see what happens in season 4
He hit the broadside of a barn, was the perfect joke I laughed so hard! 😂🎉
Both of your eyes going wide at "Then I guess I'll have to make you wish you weren't" made me laugh out loud.

I can't believe Otis survived
The amount of foreshadowing since S2 about doomsday I knew it wouldn't have been Connor just yet. "Now's not the time to go all doomsday on me" the suit bizzaro first wore, him coming back from the dead from Bruno's experiments and then feasting on things like he's back to primitive..... though I must say, poor Clark "bizzaro Clark" he really hasn't had a good time since his world went to chaos
I love Christopher Reeve. I like Henry too. This actor is definitely the best Clark. I wish DC could take a hint for the movies.
Me, too. Tyler doesn’t play Clark as being geeky and incompetent. I hated Reeve’s Clark. He started all that Clark being a clutz mess.
The series could end with Lex in DoD lock up, Clark putting the red and blue suit back on, Jordan getting a full-on Superboy suit, and Doom-zarro returning to the good side and living somewhere on a different planet/world.
might be my favorite episode of the series, doomsday is amazing 🔥🔥
tyler and bitsie are INCREDIBLE
Tyler is the GOAT! James Gunn should be definitely be looking at this shows writing for his treatment of Superman in the DCU.
Erin saying u had your line for this season (when Sarah said shh to Sophie was so funny)
bizarros weakness is x kryptonite that is how he died the first time
If there's a man who suffered in this show, is the "Bizarre"... Man lost his family, his world, eaten rats, was tortured and cannot die.
The ending reminded me of the flash season 1 finale when flash was running around the portal and it ended in a cliffhanger
Amazing and surpring season finale!! Loved watching it with you guys and I can't wait for the next one
Eric, it is true. There are characters and actors that said they would not be back next season, one of them being Dylan Walsh who plays Sam Lane.
My reaction is exactly like Eric, watching that ending. My JAWDROP! Thank goodness there's a Season 4.
Lex Is More Dangerous & Out Of Control Than Mannheim & Peia But People Seems Ok With His Methods
First time seeing this podcast. I like these guys. Usually don’t like watching other people reacting to a show but really enjoyed this one.
The ending was reminiscent of Smallville's season finale, where the battle continued into the following season.
Love all of these characters and its gonna suck if next season is the last definitely feels like theyre setting it up ,😭
i guess you haven't heard the news???
Ministry! N.W.O.! Seeing that cassette tape in Lex's collection was........❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ OMG!
WHAT AM INCREDIBLE SEASON FINALE!!!
Best Superman series ever!
So after tricking everyone by having bizzaro in the original doomsday costume it finally comes around full circle amazing
I loved the killing montage. It just shows how unhinged Lex was
Ripping off the headrest is such a mood lmaooo
Amazing finish to one of the BEST seasons of CW superhero shoes ever!
Thanks for reacting to this show ❤
i think they created doomsday for this because they weren't sure if the show would come back after.
It almost looked like an injustice (video game) fight scene going to different levels. great friggin episode
Lmfao I’m w Aaron about the whole Lana thing lol I was rooting for her and John too. I’m suuuuper glad it got renewed for S4!
13:56 well, at least Luthor could enjoy killing an alternate version of Superman after being falsely imprisoned for 17 years.
Yea, whenever you show people being very happy, you know bad stuff is about to happen.
And I like this origin for Doomsday.
LETS GOOOOO I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
I loved watching the cogs in Eric's head turn as he was slowly thinking they were doing Doomsday.
I didn't even realise this was the finale, I was expecting another episode next week 😭😭
This might have been the horniest episode of S&L ever
They said the CGI for the remaining episodes of season 3 might be a lil off but to be honest it was actually good Doomsday looked terrifying asf , I just can’t wait for that fight on the Moon.
So glad this got renewed. Like Eric I could _probably_ have made this work as a "the fight never ends" style finale but man, i'm happy I don't have to. And decimating the supporting cast would be the death knell for most other shows but i'm optimistic _this_ creative team can make it work.
I was thinking the word pet right before you said it and the delivery made it more hilarious
Blow up the outside world... I truly never expected to hear Soundgarden on a show like this, props to the music department!
Regarding Sam and what the actor has said, it would probably be easiest to kill him off, but I kind of hope they don't. I have a feeling next season will be the last one and it'd be nice if he could come back for the series finale.
Think Their Goin To Do A 5th & Final Season, Not 4
With that epic cliffhanger, i wonder if it will be like the dial-in-vote to decide jason todds robin fate, lives or dies.
Woohoo!
I love that this makes the Bizzaro Doomsday fake out last season technically not a fake out anymore
How we ever thought that the Inverse Superman became Bizzaro, then he became Doomsday. They pull the Death of Superman and Superman v. Batman in that fight scene.
Holy crap what an ending.
The fight better continue next season. I don’t want season 4 to start with: “3 Months Later.” Because the budget is cut I’m worried they won’t show the ending of the fight.
I like that this Lex is the polar opposite of Eisenbergs.
yeah and the way that Lex created Doomsday was way better than the way Eisenberg created doomsday
Fantastic season, great finale. I would’ve been so mad if this was the final season after that ending haha
Omg I just finished the episode!!! Omg that is how it ends
This show is amazing!!!!!
I do not like that many characters won't be back in season 4. This show is amazing!!!! Where a lot of shows went on to long this one needs to be longer and with the whole cast❤
i really love that Lex Luthor has only been out of prison for about a month and he already found a way to kill superman. i bet Bruno is sitting in prison right now, thinking "Damn, i wish i thought of that". he's probably gonna get out. i bet doomsday is gonna end up falling on the prison, breaking a large portion of the building and Bruno and whatever is left of intergang is just gonna walk out along with a whole bunch of other criminals, intergang is probably gonna be getting alot bigger and worse. and dont forget we still got Lex Luthor. he is gonna do something terrible of course. its awesome, i never saw a lex luthor this pissed off, its brilliant. this is a rare thing called good television
locked up for 17 years for something he didn't do, but then proves in 30 days that he deserved to be locked up 😄
Hey guys great reaction. I don’t know if they’ve said it in this show, but you can tell Eric is a big smallville fan becouse it also three hours away from three hours away from the to I mean Smallville to Metropolis
It's like if Snyder's Doomsday and Smallville's Doomsday had a baby. It's beautiful!
What an episode!!! Wow!!!
The actor of Sam isn't going to be in season 4 at all, sadly.
The guns and other weapons were made with/coated with X-Kryptonite, the substance that was to Bizarro like normal Kryptonite is to Clark.
"It's longer *and* thicker"
😂
Earlier this year they were not sure Superman and Lois was getting a season 4 this will probably guarantee it.
It's already renewed weeks ago
Cw already confirmed a season 4, thank god they chose SnL over Gotham knight
lex will get to the point next season where he goes for Lois thinking she's completely vulnerable, then Jordan ruin his plans and this version of lex seems to have no idea that Clark is Superman yet.
Are you guys planning on watching "my adventures with Superman"?
Re: your poll question .... Doesn't Doomsday always result in the death of Superman? When Clark turns his family and friends away on main street in Smallville, I feel Tyler really conveyed that "we might never be together again" vibe because he might die. Lex's words shook him. For me the problem is that they already did the World Without Superman thing when Kal was gone / stuck on that square earth. I hope some writers are working out the possibilities in their private time while this strike is going on (and get paid for it when they come back).
