It's a tie between the Injustice storyline and The Death of Superman. All Star Superman is a close second.
I liked old ones....btw Love from INDIA ❤❤
I remember reading the Death of Superman trade back in rhe 90's when it was still this event, and thinking there was no way Doomsday would have mopped up the Justice League like he did had the A squad been there. Back then the League was Booster Gold, a depowered Guy Gardner, Maxima, Fire, Ice and Bloodwynde who was just the Martian in disguise. They got the shit beat out of them, so if the mainline Leaguers were there, they'd have licked this thing no problem. Apparently, not, in fact the B and C squad back then lasted for longer against Doomsday than the A squad did in this movie, this was embarrassing. Still enjoyed this movie though.
As for my favorite Superman stories, mostly I enjoy him with the Justice League, like Batman, I enjoy them in a team more than on their own, so various Justice League series. But solo; All Star Superman, when he fought the Elite, the Our World's at War arc in the early 2000's, his mullet era post Death of Superman because of how 90's it was, the rebirth era of Superman where he's married and a father, the current run is pretty fun so far.
My favorite Superman stories are All-Star Superman and Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow.
Batman v Dracula
This is probably the most terrifying we’ve ever seen Doomsday in a movie and I love it
In my opinion the 2007 superman doomsday animated movie was more terrifying
There's never a point in this fight where Superman has the upper hand. That's the terrifying thing. At no point does it ever seem like even Superman is going to win this. He'll get a few good hits, and then Doomsday IMMEDIATELY turns it around.
@@TheKyrix82 yeah he literally got stronger and adapted as he fought. First getting heat vision then his bones evolving into claws
@@josephaliyu1443 hell no
@@digitaladventurer2142 Doomsday doesn't ''adapt'' as he fights. He just learned how to use his ''base'' abilities. The only version of Doomsday that ever adapted as he fought was Hunter Prey. Otherwise, he adapts when he dies. The only thing that can change while he fights are his bones protrusions. Also, let's not forget that Doomsday doesn't have any vital organs so he's a lot more tanky.
The whole “you’ve got me, but who’s got you” line was my favorite line from Superman with Reeves. It was said by Lois Lane when Superman saved her from a helicopter crash.
I didn't notice that the first few times I've seen this, but I caught it this time around.
Also that little homage with the John Williams music during that line.
Reeve
My man. I caught it too and loved it
@@cptbabyface9804 yeah we know.
This is the life and Death of Superman come to life in the most epic way possible. The animation is so good and the quick debut of John Henry Irons appearing in this film to set up the next storyline is just perfect.
Irons was actually in an earlier movie. In a construction site, where Superman saves him. Just like he said. But if you don't know to look for him, you'll miss him
@@TheKyrix82 I knew i mixed it. Throne of Atlantis lol
God every time I watch that scene of Bibbo on the pier I choke up. Him breaking down and asking God why he took Superman away and left a sinner like him on Earth hits so damn hard, really goes to show the love and appreciation people have for the Man of Steel. Hopefully James Gunns DCU replicates the same level of importance.
man this movie was so intense. Loved that Superman kept saving people even though he was fighting for his life.
"You've got me? Who's got you?" is from the Richard Donner Superman
Every BODY KNOWS THAT
Coy and John are always entertaining to watch with their reactions 👍
Once they're done with JL Apokolips, I want these 2 to react on Batman Gotham Knight (2008), a short movie anthology. Great animation and interesting take of persona of Bruce wayne as well as Batman ❤
Working through pain is one of the best batman stories I've ever seen or read.
I loved that it was sold as a Batman Begins “sequel”
The DCAU continues. 💛
The end of this Universe is a dark one. 💔💀
DCAMU
Fr 😭
When?
It's a fun edition, in the comics we've seen doomsday fight off certain leaguers before the final Sups fight, in other editions he straight up fights sups from the jump, here he takes on every single leaguer we've been introduced to in earlier movies and it's bloody brutal. Really nails down how dangerous Doomsday is.
I recommend you to watch these animated stand alone films: Batman/Superman: public enemies, Batman/Superman: apocalypse, Superman: Red Son, Justice League: Crisis on two earths.
When you finish DCAU, i hope you start watching the tomorrowverse next (the animation is quite different) the first movie from it is "Superman Man of Tomorrow"
I liked a lot this movie. In this universe we didn't have so much superman, the focus was mainly on batman, so it was great the fact that the movie was able to make superman so likeable and show what an impact he has on the entire world
Do you what the focus was mainly batman means ?
@David Rojas it means that batman has more movies in this universe and in the justice league films he's usually the main character
@@markosmatrozos4175 I think you're confusing featured vs main
Loved everything about the movie.
Fight scenes are great, Doomsday is terrifying, Supes as his own problems and his relationship with Lois is handled very well. WW vs Doomsday was neat.
Superman’s death was so devastating that it even grieved Batman. That’s how you know the Dark Knight had a soft spot for him. Good for you, Bats! 😁😁😁🩵🩵🩵
The casting choice for Lois works well here: Rebecca Romijn is married to Jerry O'Connell, who voices Superman.
No acting, actual love
Diana: “Because WonderMan sounds like we’re married?”
Superman: “No it’s copyrighted by Marvel, we can’t use it!”
Love you guys and can't wait for your reactions and thoughts later on. And also just wanted to say that this continuity is called the DCAMU (DC Animated Movie Universe) and not the DCAU (DC Animated Universe). They are two different universes.
Love the Melinda May shout out. That's the first thing that comes to mind when I hear someone mention bringing in the calvary. Lol
He doesn't need to be complex, he doesn't need to be deep, he just wants to punch you till you stop moving
Doomsday is built different
Love this movie! It’s pretty criminal how under the radar it is. The majority of the people seem to only focus on the live action movies
I've been waiting for this reaction cos it's my favorite out of this animated universe, the action, the characters, the way they handled Superman and Lois, the emotion, damn it had me crying yo.
I'm so happy that James Gun is writting and directing superman legacy cause you need someone who understand this great chararcter
Sure like he understood all guardians of the Galaxy characters 🤔
I have yet to see a single work of James Gunn which even indicates he is capable of handling a character like Superman let alone understanding it.
@@whiteknight8734 well he isn't 😂 all his things have childish jokes and so on... You can't take any of it serious and he is writing superman 😞
Can't do worse than Snyder's shit stain.
@@fkim8449 His GotG are legit better than the comics lmao
I cry every time I watch this. Favorite movie in this animated-verse.
Come on the obvious next movie has to be Reign of the Supermen. These 2 movies are great adaptations of that storyline into the DCAU
I've been watching your guy's reaction to the dcamu movies since it began, coy and john, you both are awesome! Love your resting faces 😂 keep these DC reactions coming!
Watch Justice League Doom and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths! Please I've been spamming this for months, get them to see it! Both of those are sooooo goooood!
Right?
The voices of Superman and Lois Lane in most of these movies, Jerry O'Connell and Rebecca Romijjn (the OG Mystique in the X-Men films) are married in real life.
That scene of Ma and Pa Kent at the funeral is absolutely heartbreaking.
I love that we see John Henry Irons in Throne of Atlantis as a tease then in this and the next movie we see him shine as a character. The DCAMU did a great job of setup and payoff. And so far I think the Tomorrowverse is doing quite well! Ofc it's still early but the lineup thus far is stellar!
I am commenting even before the reaction has begun becos i just had to acknowledge Coy.
His energy has been contagious ever since he showed up, dude can hype up just anything and everything. His has done this channel a great service. Respect to you man❤
I hope that when we see Doomsday in a future Superman movie it’s just as terrifying as this version.
Idk, I feel like it has to be way down the road, because we have to establish Superman first. And Superman v Doomsday was already used way too soon in the movies, and it wasn’t even a proper Doomsday.
@@Kayoss13212 that’s what I mean. In the *future* they need to do him right, but wait for the right time.
My favorite change, is that Doomsday tore up a high power Justice League. I love most of the characters in the League he fought in the comics, but they were nowhere near this powerful
I would love for them to watch the Superman doomsday movie came out I think like 2007. The entire film while quite goofy at times and I think the second half of it is quite strange. The doomsday and Superman battle is just so good in it
That was a brutal one 😂
I hope you watch "Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths".
The DC animated movies that aren't part of the DCAU are actually pretty awesome.
Also "superman vs. the elite"
I recommend reading the original comic book. These days it’s mocked by most comic enthusiasts but I think that’s mainly because of what DC did afterwards. I’ve heard it called poorly drawn, stupid story, badly written…none of these things are true. It’s beautifully drawn, but purposefully dark, the story is simple but direct, it’s perfectly written and is one of the best comics I’ve ever read, and I’ve read a lot! Read it thinking of only who Superman is and what he represents, and most importantly read it as if it truly is the end of the series. Changes everything
Just finished both parts of this film so i can watch your reactions. I love Death and Reign of Superman. Plus the rest of the chronological films are great. Batman hush, Wonderwoman bloodlines, Dark Apokolips war, some really epic films to come. Love the reactions guys. Thanks.
The thing that made this battle with the JL more badass is that in the comics they had the B-roster at the time. Doomsday absolutely annihilated the league. At least here they put up a some resistance.
Still want to see y'alls reaction to Batman Beyond Return of the Joker, it is by far my absolute favorite movie from the DCAU
Reign of Supermen next… Makes most sense
You guys should watch the Constantine city of demons movie next.
I know some people that don't like this New 52 version of Superman's outfit because of the "implication" of it appearing similar to a priest's uniform with the high collar and all. But personally this is my favorite "official" design of this suit. I say official because there are many very awesome fan art designs that are really epic by comparison. But those aren't officially recognized by DC; they're fan art.
Watch The Reign of Supermen next!! :)
Loved the reaction, John and Coy. Please do Constantine: city of demons next, I mean after The reign of Supermen.
“That’s how you get sharks.”
I laughed.
Man I love this animated series, and every time it just makes me want a dark marvel animated universe. It would be amazing to see dark Deadpool, X Men, midnight sons, Blade, etc. It would be amazing to finally get a universe like that. And I don't need super connected stories. Juat GOOD stories with little connective Easter eggs. It doesn't have to like lead into the next or fill in gaps from other animated films in the franchise. Single character studies of Silver Surfer, Dr. Doom, WonderMan... I'd be in heaven
Can not wait to see your guys reaction to reign of the supermen
I was just thinking about how much I was going to miss watching these on the weekends.
And y'all surprised me with this.
Thank y'all much.
May Coy be safe, happy, healthy, gorgeous, hydrated, buff and well rested(or at least try to be well rested... I see he's been living of coffee on his stories😣) during his time away.
He's very missed. 😭😭🥰
I came for Death of Superman but I stayed for the Dewey Cox reference.
This is by far one of my favorite top 5 dc animated movies by far even superman movies how brutal and destructive it all becomes
This movie had 3 after credits? Tf😂
Edit: DAMN 4!!!!???
I didn’t think we was going to get one this week…i forgot about this one
This is my all time favorite from the DCAMU. In my top 3. Amazingly done film. Just imagine it in live action. Wow. Wish I could watch it again for the first time.
1) Death of Superman
2) Flashpoint Paradox
3) Dark Apocalypse War
So many knowing nods and winks at references, but “you’ve got me, who’s got you?” Brings nothing but blank stares??? Dear oh dear!!
LOL, Lori the girl on the swim team is reference to superman's mermaid girlfriend from the golden age
Already I can't wait for your reaction to the next part - Reign of the Supermen. I have a double feature version that plays both movies back to back as one long ass movie and I love it.
I teared up towards the end of this, really one of the best DCAMU movies
The original Superman Doomsday animated movie from my childhood is my favorite animated Superman movie
These reactions are my favorite things to watch. You guys are always so wholesome with the reactions. You guys are like little kids watching these and I love it!
Do you actually believe that they haven’t actually seen this, let alone alllll these other movies they’re doing “never seen before” reactions to?
I like how Superman is in a danger room with Wonder Woman screwing around while people are dying in space. Like the Hall of Justice doesn't get warning alerts for stuff like that.
I started this story in the comics but I never finished, so I want to read the rest before I watch you finish it
One of my favorite DC movies! Really glad you guys did this one and looking forward to Return! Would you guys consider doing a video for Superman Man of Tomorrow also?
Reign of the Supermen next!!!
Oh man this is the one I’ve been waiting for. I remember watching Greg react to this trailer
Love this movie but I love the sequel to this movie even more, don’t worry they didn’t mess up he is still a very 90s character they didn’t go with the new 52 take thank goodness, am happy because he is my favourite superhero of all time. Superman doomsday was their first attempt of adapting the death of superman ark. Fun fact when Martha and Jonathan Kent listed Clarks ex girlfriends they said Lori Lemaris, who turned out to be a mermaid, even funnier it took Clark a while to figure it out.
One of my favorites ever. I still have the death and rebirth of superman comic unopened from when I was about 6 years old.
This is a fantastic telling of this story. The movie really sells the impact of Superman on everyday people as well
There was actually a Funeral at the Kent Farm and the Kent burried Clark’s childhood toys as their funeral
Love these dc universe reactions can't wait for you guys to react to the final movie apokolips war
Yay! Thanks for another shout out! I hope that Coy does make it into Comicazi someday.
30:56 that line from Christopher Reeves lois lane
love all your interactions, especially in this Full Saga. love you both.....and the other guy who supposedly is the Boss.....(i loved him also...) you helped me in in pretty dark time, thanks a lot!!!
If y'all ever get the chance you really need to watch Superman Doomsday. It's another iteration of this and its personally my favorite. It has the same animation style as like Justice League and Justice League unlimited but it's a little bit more adult in the way certain things happen. But it is such a good iteration. Some stuff happens differently.
Superman Doomsday is from 2007 if I'm not mistaken and it's really gooood!
I think you guys should check it out too
IT'S NOT DC ANIMATED UNIVERSE
IT'S DC ANIMATED MOVIE UNIVERSE!!!
Dude I remember when this comic hit stores.. and then the others that follow along with it. I still have one of the copies.
Much love to you guys❤❤
Loooved this run in the comics, so cool to see this and reign happen! Great video guys!
I’ve been loving these reactions please never stop ❤
Can't wait for the final movie
Absolute roller-coaster
i just watched this DCEU with my friend and i love getting to watch them with u guys too! excited for the last three!!
It feels like in every Superman movie he dies, then comes back:
Death of Superman
Superman: Red Son
Superman v. Doomsday
Batman v. Superman
Well, 3 of those were literally a retelling of this very story, so it hardly counts that they told the same story.
@@TheKyrix82 true
@@rOmAN_147and Red son he doesn’t even actually die he just fakes his death so he can repent for his wrongs and live life as a normal person to learn from them. It’s really just the introduction to doomsday stories where he actually dies and then comes back
After this and its sequel you guys should watch “Superman Doomsday” from 2007 and compare
Now THIS is how you adapt the Death of Superman! This film's ending actually left me crying! Unlike Snyder's version, this left an emotional impact!
So you love animations more then a movie ok
@@fkim8449 you got a problem with animation? You must be one of those retards who thinks "AnImAtIoN iS jUsT fOr KiDs"
@@fkim8449 He likes quality over Snyder's shit.
@@fkim8449this is a movie too
@@fkim8449not necessarily, they like good stories and consistent characters as opposed to not that.
31:32 I love this night sky Man of Steel reference, 31:35 and this attempted Injustice reference shot looks real beautiful too
This is one of my most favourite Superman movie.
I am loving the reactions to DC animated movies!! I love these movies!!!
3:52 - He's also one of Clark Kent's most reliable informants about doc activity. He's used quite often to uncover malfeasance in that area when necessary.
Love these DC animated movie reactions
Funniest line from this whole thing is John’s reaction when doomsday rips apart the Atlanteans lol “WE NEED TO GO DEEPER” * Batman vc* 😂😂😂
I love all of these. Keep on going guys hell yeah!
I hope no one ruins these upcoming stories for John!
This is probably my favorite Doomsday movie when he goes to choke Superman with his own cape shit is terrifying
I will say I did feel this movie was rushed, but if you watch it back to back with the next one it feels a lot more complete, like a part one and part two.
Love this reaction and love that end discussion!
One of my favorite adaptations of this story is the novel "The Death and Life of Superman" by Roger Stern in 1994. I was twelve years old then and borrowed it from the School library.
Dude....the commentary on this is Soooo "Mystery Science Theater 3000" LMAO! Love it!
This movie is the reason why i started watching the dc animated movies and i loved every bit of it.
you guys should check out Batman vs Dracula
They'd need to watch The Batman animated show to watch that tho.
@@wwfnbafan not really, it's more of a self contained animated movie with it's own plot, it's like someone watch Batman: Mask of The Phantasm, but having not needed to have watched The Batman Animated series
Remember first seeing this as a Double Feature at a Regal with Reign of Supermen…fun time! I also remember being late for work the day the actual comic came out because I wasn’t going to miss out on getting the copy sealed up with all the extras. Crazy me should have gotten 2 and left 1 unopened but, was nice seeing the work they put into everything in it. Then keeping up with what came after the death, very good stuff going on!
Ah and last December a 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition of the novel came out 👍
After you guys finish thise series, im looking forward to the various other animated films. A few batman, a couple superman, GL, a couple more justice league.
