      Avengers using the time machine in the Endgame was part of Cannon event, they were supposed to use it to bring back the dusted and defeat prime Thanos again.
      Captain going back to Peggy was a Cannon event. Two Steve Rogers existed in the same sacred timeline and it was a cannon event. I am pretty sure the Cap who went back to Peggy and kept his identity a secret knew that other Cap existed who was frozen and asleep.

Because he 100% knew what was going to happen before Steve even stepped on that platform. That wasn't a spur of the moment decision, they planned that. Hence why Bucky didn't talk to Old Cap, he'd already said his goodbye to Steve. That moment was for Sam to say goodbye and inherit the shield.

  • @haddow777
    @haddow777 3 месяца назад +331

    No no no no.
    That is so far off from how it works. The muliverse doesn't spit because a stone was involved. That goes against the whilr TVA series.
    The TVA didn't interfere with Steve's staying back in time because they didn't stop all time branching. That wasn't their purpose. We know this, because they didn't stop the Avengers from messing with time. True, they ultimately put the stones back. Still, their actions resulted in Thanos and his entire army going forward in time. Their leaving their old timeline created a branch out of the Avengers mission to go back and retrieve the stones. They clipped that branched universe by putting the stones back, but still, Thanos created a branch in the future, which the TVA would have had to clean up. If the TVA cared only about clipping branches, they would have prevented him going forward in time.
    What you are forgetting is that the TVA is the puppet of He That Remains. They clip timelines however he sees fit. They didn't stop Steve from staying back in time simply because He Who Remains wanted him in the past.
    The entire Infinity Saga was orchestrated by him with the sole intention of removing a danger to himself, namely the stones. So as to bot expose himself to danger, he manipulated everyone so others wpuld remove the danger to him for him. He manipulated the Avengers to be together.
    He made Thanos who he was. Thanos was vital to He Who Remains. He needed a being that not only was powerful enough to survive using the stones, but had the willpower to destroy the stones. The cost of getting him to destroy the stones was to allow him to wipe out half the life in the universe. He undid that with the Avengers. He built them up to be strong enough to defeat Thanos. He allowed the access to time travel to help with that effort.
    Still, He Who Remains knew that once Thanos was defeated, he would have made the Avengers strong enough to be a threat to him themselves. Sp he also manipulated the timeline so they would be crippled during the process of defeating Thanos. Black Widow and Iron Man were dead. Thor was a broken shell of himself. Hawkeye retired. Hulk was around, but he was the most cautious of them all and would avoid time travel at all costs as his typical methodology would be to avoid using any power he had as much as possible.
    All that was left was Steve. So He Who Remains both rewarded him and disabled him by allowing him to stay in the past. Think about it, Steve in the past couldn't be a hero, because he had to strictly avoid changing the timeline to avoid creating any branches.
    Still, his staying back in time would have created a branch. There would have been two Carters, one with him and one without him. The Carter in the TVA was most likely the one in the universe where Steve went back to the future. As all the TVA agents were variants, it is likley they would have viewed her as a skilled potential agent and retrieved her from the timeline before they clipped it. Because, when he stayed back, they would have had to have clipped the universe where he hadn't stayed back.
    So no, Steve's being able to stay back in time had nothing to dp with the stones and everything to do with removing a threat to He Who Remains.

    it's explained in the TVA that the events in Avengers was "supposed to happen", not because how each infinity stone affects the timeline. Some actions cause a Nexus event that could potentially lead the Sacred Timeline to get exposed to other timelines where other Kangs could infiltrate. So Steve Rogers' actions could have not affected the Sacred Timeline since the He Who Remains Kang variant already knows what could happen. The Sacred Timeline is just an isolated timeline where all the MCU events before Loki happened

    Okay so from a physics perspective, endgame is the perfect example of the bootstrap paradox. (an infinite loop of time travel). In this case, as they use the multiverse theory in tandem with time travel, it's essentially like an infinite number of parallel mcu's, where every universe's avengers are doing the exact same thing, getting the stones, stopping thanos, and returning them. But additionally, Captain america was supposed to reunite with peggy. But here's the catch, the older version of cap that we see, is in fact not our cap. He is an identical version from a parallel universe. Nothing about his life is any different than that of the captain we know, but he is technically a different captain America.

    This is not a misunderstanding. That's basically how time travel works in Endgame.
    War Machine suggested that they could just kill baby Thanos, and then Professor Hulk explained why that wouldn't work.
    And do you know why? Because that would create an alternate timeline. There was nothing with the stones. This action would just change the past. And time traveler always changes the past because he wasn't there before.
    So when does time travel work differently?
    From what I can see it has nothing to do with infinity stones.

    Except they specifically say that when you go back the past becomes your future and the future becomes your past. And so if Thanos dying before he was able to do the snap didn’t make it so it never occurred resulting in a paradox then Steve should not be able to go to a past that would have the same falcon and Bucky in the future it would have to be an alternate timeline. Like they say specifically that they can’t change the past.

  • @avolione
    @avolione Месяц назад +1

    How can you get this wrong? The Loki show explains this by itself better than you can. The events of Endgame where always "Supposed to happen" to maintain one timeline, the "sacred timeline". They were supposed to travel back in time and change the events of the past. However, an "unexpected" event occurred in which Loki was able to get away, the implication being that this would cause to great of a change, declaring him a deviant and therefore captured by the TVA. Whereas Steve was meant to end up with Peggy. The stones where never a part of what makes someone a deviant, but many deviants may end up with stones.

    The other reason could be because Loki was taken in by the TVA BEFORE Endgame was over as far as continuity goes, and since time works kinda weirdly in the TVA, it's entirely possible that the complete events of Loki seasons 1 and 2 (minus the time skip at the end) occurred in the time it took for the time heist and battle against Thanos to wrap up, meaning even IF Steve changed anything, it wouldn't have resulted in the TVA coming after him.

    I thought that the existence of classic Loki was enough to prove that someone can escape death as long as they don't interrupt any important events. Classic Loki was able to stop Thanos from killing him, and left to live in solitude. Since he didn't make any major changes to the timeline, he wasn't snuffed out by the TVA. It wasn't until after he tried to go back to the normal world that the TVA came knocking on his doorstep. Steve probably understood that if he changed anything, then the results could be catastrophic, so he probably tried to live in the background until the present day where he gave his shield to the Falcon.
