    Man, Cameron Mitchell and John Carradine really weren't picky with their movie roles.

    • @Capohanf1
      @Capohanf1 Месяц назад +15

      When they reached that point in their careers, after YEARS of Alimony to 5 ex-wives and child support to 10 out of wedlock kids, THEY would do ANYTHING for a paycheck!!!!!!

    • @jjoshaugh
      @jjoshaugh Месяц назад +9

      The thing about Carradine is that low budget film makers loved him. He could walk in, read a script once, and then take a nap or tell stories while he was waiting. Then when the director said "action!" he would deliver a script perfect, really good performance in one take. Then he would collect his check, shake everyone's hand and leave. His "one take" ability meant they saved a ton on time and film. He was really good to work with, gave quality performances no matter what shit movie he was in, and he saved money to hire. Fecking sold.
      Mitchell on the other hand was a pain in the ass, and had dodgy people hanging around whom he owed money to. In one movie his agent told the director not to give him any money as he would just spend it on the bookies. But when Mitchell turned up he started demanding his payment right there or he wouldn't act. So rather than slow up production the Director handed it over, and Mitchell took the entire check and handed it to some guys in a waiting car. Good actor but Gawd what an ass.

    I’m not sure the director not even seeing any recent movies is the sole reason this film seems out of date. This has the stink on it of a movie that was shot years ago, possibly never quite completed, then just left on a shelf somewhere when the producer couldn’t get anyone to distribute it, until the home video market finally took off and they took whatever moldy old footage they had & cobbled something together to release on the direct-to-video market.

    this film seems like the inspiration for the 1989 classic "cannibal women in the avocado jungle of death" starring shannon tweed and bill maher. as for john carradine, he was in some of the best movies ever made. "stagecoach" (1939), "the grapes of wrath" (1940), "the ten commandments" (1956) and "the man who shot liberty valance" (1962). he also appeared in such exploitation films as "sex kittens go to college" (1960) and 1986s "the adventures of taura: prison ship star slammer." he has a credit list about a mile long starring in b-pictures and big budget films and movies and tv. he's one of my favorite character actors. thanks for the review.
