Best decade in the history of mankind sounds like a bit of a stretch. The 80s sure produced great entertainment out of the US and its lackies like Japan and Europe. But around the same time crime, war, anarchy, economic turmoil throughout the world was also at its peak value unlike previous decades. Most people during the 80s contemplated the collapse of the US. Had the Soviets not dissolved their Union by 1991, the US would have spiraled and imploded from ballooning spending on military and what not, the way it is happening today.

Tbf the 2000s was amazing too things began to deteriorate in the late mid 2000s but the first big thing was 9/11 (obviously an inside job) that was used to create a war ruin a generation of men, strip people worldwide of freedoms and give the NSA and other 3 letter agencies so many tools and allowed them to use illegal methods to spy on people etc. Things got much worse in the 2010s with politicians who leaned far left and gave in to the woke mob and technology becoming lifeless and soulless. It's crazy how much technology had life in the past now it's all about money

Let's not forget that we've experienced the videogame industry at its most beautiful stage! Mega-addictive arcades, the coveted 16-bit and the rise of the CD-ROM. The times when you could fall off a chair when riding a bike or piloting a spacecraft in a videogame... Every thrill ride was truly larger than life!

Ahh the 1980s: when people are society were considered normal. Society is garbage today by comparison - over-technology ruined us - just like they said in The Terminator - 2029 is almost here. Some of these movies here were made in the 1970s. I always say that the 20th Century was the peak of humanity - and now at 45, I am appreciating those years more than ever. Great job!

You forgot one thing, the badass action figures, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe. No muscular (very ripped) action figures of this type were ever made before, and they could punch by themselves, that's right, that was a WOW at the time.
That scene in First Blood was so special in so many ways. My uncle was a Vietnam vet. Vets were having huge issues in those days readjusting to civilian peacetime life, and because of the masculine culture you described in this video, was seldom talked about.
And I think it's super interesting to point out, since Rambo and Rocky ended up becoming parodies of themselves, as their first movies show a more nuanced take on masculinity than the ones that came after them.

The 80s. I was in the middle of everything. My greatest happiness in life was the movies, the TV series, the music, the clothes and even the food tasted better and even the advertising was worth watching because it was so aesthetic and the music sometimes became more famous than the product being marketed. I turned 18 in 1983. I'm originally from Flatbush, Brooklyn, however, I grew up in the suburbs of the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles during the late 1970s through the 1990s. I was bi-coastal between New York City and Los Angeles during the 1980s, and both cities were off the charts during those days! The music, fashion, art, cinema, sports, attitudes, and cultures were iconic! There will NEVER be a decade like the 1980s again! A great time to be young and partying. The last decade of innocence.

I Really liked the 80ties. Great action movies, great music and most importantly you felt safe. My parents let us play outside with friends till very late. They just left the dinner on the stove to reheat whenever we come back. Now unheard of
If you couldn't get a date in that decade, you wouldn't anytime after. They loved geeks PacMan or Galaga high scores at the local pizza parlor or arcade.

While I was growing up in the 90s and the 2000s,I did watch a lot of 80s movies as a kid,so I do miss the 80s cool aesthetic. Can you also do a video on 80s cool cartoons? Cartoons from the 80s and 90s that had many of these 80s cool elements,as well as badass theme songs in the intro (I think stuff like Transformers, TMNT, Biker Mice From Mars, M.A.S.K., 1992 X-Men, 1994 Iron Man, 1993 Speed Racer, etc. would fit that category).
Biker Mice was a cartoon I had on my mind when I made this video. I don't think I could put myself through the torture of watching those old cartoons again. X-Men is still great, but 90% of the cartoons from that era don't hold up without extreme nostalgia bias. They were definitely a big part of the 80s Cool story though.

After The Simpsons came out, the industry changed towards absurd/ironic humor and that worked a lot better for US cartoons (until the late 2000s, where it was clear the US cartoon industry was having trouble to think outside the animated sitcom model). The influence of anime (which took a while to actually become popular in the US) is also important on how scripts became deeper in the 90s/2000s.

For movies that capture the "Hong Kong 80´s Cool"-vibe, I would recommend John Woo´s "The Killer", "A Better Tomorrow 1& 2", "Hard Boiled" ( I know it´s an early 90´s movie but whatever).
I was born in late 1984. A lot of the best 80s culture took its time to arrive in Scotland, so I had an extended experience! Even now my default dress sense is blue jeans, biker jacket, and aviators.
Miami Vice is God Tier 80s cool. Also, Fury Road is overrated garbage. Predator is a contender for the best action movie in history and has aged like fine wine.

For movies that capture the "Hong Kong 80´s Cool"-vibe, I would recommend John Woo´s "The Killer", "A Better Tomorrow 1& 2", "Hard Boiled" ( I know it´s an early 90´s movie but whatever).

Miami Vice is God Tier 80s cool. Also, Fury Road is overrated garbage. Predator is a contender for the best action movie in history and has aged like fine wine.
