In old lore, Squigs actually were tyranids made from orkoid genetics, and the orks were so offended by this that they tried to rescue these "orks" from the Huve Ships they were on, and only discovered ickity little squigs, but both squig and ork immediately understood their kinship, and so the orks saved all of the squigs they could find, though some didn't escape, and those became the first ripper swarms, though they weren't called that at first. In modern lore a squig is actually just an orkoid that isn't humanoid, but the tyranid squigs were still a thing from hive fleet Colossus, the same nids who were really weird and different from the ones who came later (Very weird, they had individual minds, wore living fuzzy sashes as style, didn't consume all life on the planets they came to, and had mind controlled zoats serving as their equivalent to warriors.) though Colossus only originated some species of squigs.
That sounds pretty cool actually. Maybe spin it as a remnant of a fleet that got pushed off the world but had just enough self or whatever to survive without direct hivemind control.
I feel like this could either be a pet for an Ork warboss, or a curiousity for a rogue trader, we know Ambots exist, essentially a creature thats lobotomized to become a worker or protector, so a tyranid away from the hive mind could be turned into a servitor
I have a head cannon of a tech prist of the xeno study who intends to servitize a warrior, or a few. If ya willing a bit of pure anarchy. He has turned a well studied skull and fullspine of a warrior into a servo skull and well. Let's just say quarks. In a programming frenzy he was shaping the paramiyors for the mechine spirit and well a moment of gallor field failure leads to a sparatic birth of this skulls semi sentient nature. It's feral all considered. But he does as ordered and can vary much just does it's job. But when he's doing things and using other servitors or working on the ships servitors. It will "monch" on cut bits of meat that have been discarded. As it has a partical digestive tract shoved up in it as anatomy understanding attempt. End result fo the warp infusion and the priests zeal is a warp related funky moment. Basicly when tested by chaos he can awaken the servo skull's latent warp existance. Basicly it's his design formed by the warp around the servoskull and it will unload feral hell for him. Also. It's just hungry so corpes will be monched. The tech priest goes by apleth-0 but the skull is granted apleth-1 as a name. And he does LOVE the thing like a pet at times. (And many colleges recognize this as his form of retained humanity.)
Skitari/tech priests/omnissiah followers don't turn xenos into servitors, they can potentially do that but that's considered heresey, something about their beliefs that xenos don't have souls and servitor they get as a result will be a soulless machine.
My headcanon is that a baby tyranid got disconnected from the hivemind and was adopted by some orks. There's an entire cute pixar montage to go with it and everything.
After finishing watching this I'm not convinced you're not an ork just editing your hands out for humie hands. Well done. This is fantastic construction!
thats actually insane. im new to warhammer and hadn't even thought about making a model from actual junk and scrap. must save so much money and it seems like good method of recycling. as someone whos never made or painted any models and just likes the warhammer lore, this is very inspiring.
🪀🔫🦠💚💚💚(3 green orky hearts and before that the orkish trinity - Morka‘s kunning but brutal green Jo-Jo (has hidden circular buzzsaw teeth), Gorka‘s brutal but kunning green shotgun and the green spore of orkish proliferation)
This may be one of the coolest ideas ever for an Ork "looted vehicle". I wish GW would take this to heart, and give us an Ork+Tyranid vs Exodite Eldar box in the near future.
Well I did ask for a tyranid video. I'll admit it was not what I was expecting but I definitely learned some interesting things that might just help me scratch build some tyranids of my own. So thanks Scratch Bashing.
Thumbnail and concept alone put a wide grin on my face and an immediate “I fucking love it.” The question “But why?" Is entirely irrelevant we have squig rigs this is perfect and I’m only slightly jealous that I didn’t think of it first
It looks amazing, I love the ide. But as a Tyranid player and a stickler for details I have to mention that tyranids tend to have 3 pair of limbs. I think that the only exceptions being Spore Mines, Mucolid Spores, Sporocyst and Tyrannocyte. Their "ships" not included.😅
I like to imagine that somehow one of the painboyz got their hands on this guy and essentially lobotomized it. Now the orks turned it into a living tank and ride it into battle
Ngl, i don't really like the mix of organic and mechanical, its just my opinion However it is very well made and i have to salute that. I'd love to see you make a "pure" tyranid and more vehicles of course
I sometimes wonder if you are colour blind so you can see a grey tone during the building madness. Unbelievable how you bash all those parts together into an amazing build! Excellent work my good sir!
I can only suggest a high-gloss wetness-effect be applied to appear drippy & moist coming down from under any looted-plates, like unseen-ulcers or biological-serum is sweating where the plates & skin interact: moisture running down from the irritant armor making a sheen.
Wonderful! I feel like repainting the Nid bits would ruin the effect. the look is cohesive, and if you wanted a lore-accurate reason, you could say that the process of 'harvesting' the frame and subsequent Orkification leads to this curious texture and slight change to the initial pigmentation. beautiful work, as always
I feel like either a swarm of grots got their hands on a small tyranid bioform & up-armoured it, or a painboy leading some mekboys got to work making a captured biotitan into a new toy.
i was like ah cool a kitbashed tyranied . lets look what bits he used... and you make the whole thing out of trash?!?! omg you are freaking creativ ! love this stuff !!!
I like to imagine that the Tyranid is mostly just sticking around out of curiosity as to what they're gonna stick on it next, and the fact that the orcs don't whine too much about it hoovering up battlefields' worth of corpses.

You are so cool!!
the orks definitely just think this guy is a really large squig
The Tyranid thinks its a gene stealer so its trying really hard to fit in with Da Boyz

The thought that some weird boyz, or ork ripper dok might not of tried to tinker with tyranid brains at least once is unthinkable,

Thanks for inventing wax, SB. Nice bug
Funny thing is: the Iron Warriors actually looted a whole Tyranid Bioship.
You mean the one they covered in armor plating, filled it with Obliterator Virus and then threw at Imperial Fists?

GW fears the popsicle stick and cardboard modeler
