Pilates Stretch & Strength Resistance Band Workout // 30 minute Mat Exercises

- You will feel great after this 30 minute pilates class using a resistance band. We will tone, strengthen and stretch all the muscles leaving you with more energy and feeling like you accomplished something!
I'm using a stretchy resistance band for this workout. You may also use a resistance band that has handles. You may also do the exercises without a band!
You will walk taller and improve your posture with these exercises that are appropriate for all fitness levels including seniors and beginners.
All exercises are performed on the floor. Please make sure you are on a soft surface. You may want a pillow to support your head, knees or hips in certain positions.

I feel so much better after doing this. I was stressed about a few medical issues and I had aggrevated my lower back. I was frustrated that I had to take it easy. This gave my body and mind an outlet.

Moves are always interesting, makes workout move quickly! Lots of reps makes workout even harder. I agree, regular band without handles would be preferable -- but I managed with handles. Thanks, Lauren!

Lauren….do you have any workouts with the weighted hula hoop??? Thank you for ALL your workouts…I do a different one every day and walk/bike on weekends…I’m 64 and realize importance of movement and flexibility for mental/physical health……
You're so right Sharline, that's a great attitude! No, I don't have any workouts with a hula hoop. Unfortunately, I've found that when I do a video with a prop that's very specific, the video doesn't do very well ;(. I know a lady on Facebook that does nothing but hula hoop fitness classes. Would you like me to get in touch with her and ask if she has any videos? I don't think she has a RUclips channel, but she may livestream. Let me know!

YOu're welcome Tatiana! The length doesn't matter. Whatever band you have you can adjust to where it is best for you. It's should feel challenging but not impossible.
oh dear Lauren, I think I am resistence band challanged. When you would say 2 more; I'd still be trying to get the resistance band back on body part its suppose to be on after retrieving it from across the room where it just flew off. My poor cat never was able to rest in peace trying to take his nap while laying on quilt on ironing board. He'd hear that band snap and lift his head to see where the band was headed. I need to wear eye protection and weightlifting gloves I think to work with these bands. Still love it though...

Hi Lauren, I love that this is 30 minutes and am thinking of doing it tomorrow but not sure if it is considered strength training 2 days in a row since it has the resistance band which I love resistance bands and I did an Amrap/Cardio today with dumbells.

Thanks Judi. This workout includes movements that require rounding of the spine that many people with osteoporosis ovoid. Ultimately it depends on the severity of your condition and your doctors advice.
