Thank you for a great video. Left over pieces of cord use red for mouth on animal or doll. Pretty pieces in hair to add a touch of glimmer. If you do weaving you can add a touch of color. For yarn scraps the same way but don't forget the birds in the Spring, they like to weave the scraps into their nests.
Thanks for sharing! I love these "how to" videos. This looks like a fun project for someone I know and will be seeing if she is interested in doing it.
You're so welcome Kathryn! We are glad to hear that you enjoy watching these videos and it's such a super simple technique. Happy to hear you're going to be sharing it.
Thanks for watching Joanna! You'll want to choose a glue in cord end that has an inside diameter that's larger than the diameter of all your cords. For instance, if you're using 8 cords and each cord is 1mm, then the total diameter is 8mm. You'll want a cord end with an inside diameter that's larger than 8mm. All of the cord ends we offer list the inside diameter. www.firemountaingems.com/shop?keywords=glue+in+cord+ends
The bead cap is a bit large for the size of the braid. I would find a bead cap that would fit better than what is being used. Bead caps come in many sizes to fit the different sizes of braid that is made.
Where do you get that finishing cord? Does the E6000 glue stick your fingers too quickly like super glue, or is it safe? Are the pliers special ones for jewellery making?
Here is the link to the finishing cord: www.firemountaingems.com/jewelry-supplies/stringing-material/thread/nylon-thread/silkon/ The E6000 dries much slower than super glue, so there is much less of a problem with it sticking. It is also flexible even when dry. The pliers are actually wire flush cutters, so they are perfect for jewelry wire as well as wire in small electronics and similar items. But they are also great for softer materials such as the cord in this video! Here is a link to the Flush cutters: www.firemountaingems.com/3151TL.html
Hi Anne. Here is a link to the swivel clasp used in this project: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h206704fd Also, you can see the full materials list by following the link in the description of the video. Thank you!

Nice! I am using thin yarn to braid into .50mm diameter product. My questions is there a way to braid so that the center remains hollow while the finish product has some sort of rigidity? 6, 8, 12 or 16 cord is advisable? What type of braiding should I use? thanks.
Hi there. Thank you for watching. The type of braid you're looking for is called "Basic Hallow Braid". We offer a book with this braid technique. Here's the link: www.firemountaingems.com/itemdetails/h203453bk The number of cords is really a personal preferences. Hope that helps!!
There are a lot of factors that go into pricing. We have a great video on how to price your jewelry: ruclips.net/video/Pl04XUcl55M/видео.html&lc=UgxN0BZwoxYVm0wF2sZ4AaABAg Hope this helps! 😊
You could use a smaller end cap, sure. The type of cords doesn't really matter, it's the technique with those cords that we are teaching. Feel free to experiment and create with the products you want to use in your project.
Wow it's a excellent video

How do you add beads to the center of your 8 cord spiral?
Here is the link to our video of using beads with Kumihimo: ruclips.net/video/g-qwnR92m1Y/видео.html
I usually have my clasps on the bead caps prior to clueing on the ends.
THAT IS A BEAUTIFUL BRACELET YOU HAVE ON I WAS LOOKING AT UR BRACELET THEN WHAT U WAS DOING LOL
Haha, it is a beautiful bracelet. It's a peyote stitch and Rose made up the design as she went along.

how long did it take you in real time to make the spiral cord on the Kumihimo wheel?
I created a bracelet like this for the first time and it took about 10 minutes to complete the spiral cord. - Melissa
wow, it take me about two hours to get one done
That's okay too! 🙂
Can u do this with wire
You sure can. Just make sure the wire is soft enough. There is plenty of resources online on wire kumihimo.
