    I didn’t have Fray Away glue and I really wanted to try my hand at a beaded kumihimo bracelet. So as a crafter with about 20 different kinds of glue, I chose a couple types to try to keep the fray away. What dried clear and stiff and worked perfectly was Aleene’s Clear Gel Tacky Glue. It’s inexpensive and available at craft stores and Walmart.
    Thanks for a great technique video. It’s clear and easy to understand.

    This was such a wonderfully clear and instructive video. I practiced the tutorial with embroidery floss and some small seed beads and it came out really nice! I look forward to actually creating the full bracelet from cord with larger seed beads and practicing adding the clasps! This is such a meditative style of weaving and has some lovely results without being incredibly complicated.

    It's intriguing to see you rotate your disk the opposite way to most Kumihimo demonstrators. Nothing wrong with that, except that I would tend to follow by rotating my disk in the anti clockwise direction so that I'm working to my right (my being right handed) but I suppose the end result is basically the same except for the opposite spin on the spiral.

    Ok ~ I’ve finally thanks toy been able to master this ~ and I added the same amount of beads as you did ~ but unfortunately discovered it was way ~way too small to fit a adult’s wrist ~ 😂 ~ perfect if you’re a new born baby 👶🏾! But that I know how to do this ~I’ll use my snuggie’s and add a load of beads to each strand ~ and measure bracelet to the normal 7” !! THANK YOU ~THANK YOU ~ THANK YOU ~😘😘😘👏🏾👏🏾👍🏽👌🏾 (oh by the way ~ mine is red, white and blue)

      Fire Mountain Gems and Beads 😂 that wouldn’t work with mine ~it’s way to short! I’ve managed to make another one to the right size ~ lol I discovered that I was measuring the beadwork one second go to 7” and then added the findings and of coarse it was to big ~ then I measured the findings only and took the measurements away from 7” and it worked ~ why I didn’t do that in the first place 🤔 about it after~ 🤷‍♀️ ~😂~ that’ll teach me!!

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  5 лет назад

      Hi Cindy. We're glad you enjoy watching Rose and her tutorials. The size of jump ring is really personal preference. One thing to be sure of though is that what the jump ring is fitting into is smaller than the inside diameter of your jump ring. We list the inside diameter of the jump rings we carry on our website so that's always easy to reference.

    Thank you for sharing! I was just thinking about better ways of ending a Kumihimo and your way is by far the best I’ve seen, so thank you thank you!!! So does way of ending hold up the ends together fairly secure? And how about when you use a magnetic clasp? Last think, I love that peacock pattern bracelet you have on, pattern available?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Joselyn. This method holds up very well if the bracelet is taken care of both on and off. We've asked Rose about her bracelet she was wearing and there's no pattern. She just made it as she went and it turned out that way.

    Thank you for another wonderful video! Would it be possible for an explainer on different beads and uses and the sizing system? Very confused and keep buying too smaller beads for kumihimo 😔😮

      Hi there. Kumihimo is the technique. You'll want to be sure to use beads that whatever size cording you're using will go through. We've got some other really good resources on kumihimo and here's a link to them! bit.ly/2H5Zhcg

    Thank you for the tutorial of this beautiful bracelet. What is the order to place the cords around the Kumihimo since color of the beads on each cord is slightly different? Let's say I start with Cord #1 at the position between #31 and #32, where does cord #2 go - between #32 and #1 (and then continue in a clockwise fashion) or do I place cord #2 across the disk to go between #15 and #16 or between #17 and #16? This is my first Kumihimo project. Thank you,

      We have a video of the basic 8 Cord Kumihimo that you can watch: fmg.co/vl2Gra
      Hopefully that helps clear up some things before you move on to adding beads!

    Muy bonito su trabajo pero seria muy bueno q en español nos diera el nombre de lo q ud aplica a los cordones en la punta y los centimetros que se necesitan para elaborar el trabajo gracias

    I hope you are still seeing comments.....the tutorial is great. I have tried numerous times in the past day to get the beads to drop into the "quadrant" and they seem to go everywhere other than the quadrant. Could it be the tension is too tight. I keep watching and I still cant see how it drops and goes under. Any helpful hints, tips or trick.
