This video details how to install the Boost Auto Parts dual function harness V2.0 into Aftermarket GM towing mirrors. This gets the forward facing light to work as a running light and a turn signal, all while maintaining the fully functional signal on glass.
This video is for aftermarket mirrors only, but we have other videos on our channel for OEM mirrors. Boost Auto Parts kit is compatible with 1988 1989 1990 1991 1992 1993 1994 1995 1996 1997 1998 1999 2000 2001 2002 2003 2004 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 GMC Sierra and Chevy Silverado 1500 2500HD 3500HD including diesels.

If you have dual function v1.0 mirrors with strips already, do you just need a different module or is it more than that to convert to 2.0
You should be able to swap out the module. Give our team a call at 765-831-2830 so they can look up your previous order and ensure you get the correct parts.

It depends on how you tap the orange wire.
Why is the ground to the front light abandoned and the reverse light ground used instead for the v2 switch?
Front light doesn't have a constant ground for some applications - that is needed for the running light to work properly.

I recently bought the towing mirror for my Sierra gmc 2012 sle and I purchased the wires from you guys for the version 2.
I have a question, my truck doesn't have the turning signal blinker on the original mirror from factory, do I need to run an extra wire from the new turning switch from both mirrors and connect them to my blinker wire?
No - the signal should be plug and play

Do you have to take mirrors off to install? Looks like it’s doable with mirrors on the truck.
It is much easier to fish the wire with them off the truck.
Will these accommodate the cameras that are in the standard mirrors in a 2022 LTZ, Z71, 4D Crew cab????
This product does not work on a 2022 vehicle.
Does this harness allow all the functionality of the mirror (heat, power adjust, turn signal in mirror, turn signal on outside of mirror/running lights, spot light on mirror) when installed on a 2011 Silverado LT?
This does not effect most of those features - it simply adds the running light.
Fuse tap seems to be a really tight squeeze. Do you recommend to just bend it to make it fit?

What is the different between the 1.0 and 2.0? Can anyone answer this question
Signal & Running Light 1.0: The lights will flash as a turn signal. At night when the running lights are activated, the lights will operate at 50% intensity for running light, 100% intensity for turn signal.
Signal & Running Light 2.0: The lights will flash as a turn signal. At night when the running lights are activated, the lights will operate at 100% intensity for running light, 100% intensity for turn signal.
Can I upgrade my boost auto tow mirrors with version 1.0 turn signals to the version 2.0 with this kit?

I have aftermarket switchbacks do I need 2.0 or 1.0 or does it not matter?
Switchbacks do not utilize the 1.0 or 2.0 module. Reach out to our team at sales@boostautoparts.com or 765-831-2830 if you need assistance getting them operational - we likely have something else required for your application to get them operational but they will need more details.
Could this harness be mount in the door instead of in mirrors? Combine it to the existing mirror harness?
