This video details the install of Boost Auto wiring kit part number 1846 which adds the missing wires to your GM door harness for upgrading from small mirrors to towing mirrors. This gets ALL of the circuits including power folding to properly function so the mirrors can work plug and play without running additional wires into the cab. The lighting circuits include cargo , running light (park light), and turn signal. Please reference our website for getting the front light to work as a running light and signal, or the side light to work as reverse.
Why spend $200+ on replacing your door harnesses when you can just add the missing wires for a fraction of the price?
This upgrade will work for OEM mirrors (RPO code DQS or DPN), Boost Auto Parts mirrors (if the plug and play option is selected), and any aftermarket mirrors that properly wire all of the wires into the OEM style connector.
This fits 2014 Silverado and Sierra 1500, 2015 2016 2017 2018 Silverado and Sierra 1500/2500/3500, and 2019 Silverado and Sierra 2500/3500.

My 2014 Sierra 1500 already came with powered mirrors (turning arrow on glass) and was manufactured in January 2014. I have a set of two mirrors I just purchased that seem to be plug and play but from this video I need to ask If I will be needed the harness kit? Please advise
You do need the kit otherwise the running light and cargo light will not work properly
Can anyone tell me how my driver side has turn signal and wire for flood light in the plug but not passenger??? I am stumped.

If the amber lights are supposed to be blinker lights why can’t you wire the blue wire to the orange/ yellow tracer wire?

Yes it will!
I just purchased you mirrors and this video was well done and should mak3 for an easy installation. One question I have the two wires that you remove from pins 1 and 2 (and then cutoff) on the mirror connector and replace with the two wires from the installation kit. What do those wires currently go to and what are you disabling by removing them?
They're only used on the small standard mirrors - it's for the puddle light which towing mirrors don't have and for the auto-dim which isn't offered on towing mirrors either.
I thought 16-18 LTZ and High Country came factory with turn signals in the mirrors?
They do - this truck was just used to provide an installation guide.
Is the red wire necessary for the mirrors to fold ? My truck has power folding mirrors already. Only one side worked. After the install the folding won't work at all. I used the w/b wires only. That's what the vid said to do . Help?

I just ordered some tow mirrors with Power Fold, and the HO flood lights reverse + Cargo... what video do i go to to make the reverse + cargo work? or will doing the steps in the video work with that?

So i bout the kit but come to find out its already factory wired on my 2018 denali 1500. How can i get the front turn signals to work with tow mirrors?
It's possible your 2018 Denali originally had tow mirrors so that's why it is pre-wired. The turn signals on the front light would likely be our dual function, but to be sure please send your VIN and a video of how the lights are currently working to sales@boostautoparts.com so our team can assist.
Also I have the small mirrors with no signals or anything. I want the switchbacks with heat but I don't need power folding. From what I understand I need the RZY kit and will want to modify my harness for the best result? I see hardworking might be simpler but more of a quick and easy fix and may not be as sturdy. Does that all sound correct? Thanks!

I have a 2017 2500 duramax work truck with manual mirrors. Will these mirrors and hard wire kit still work
If you have totally manual mirrors on a diesel, there's a special connector for the temperature sensor in the RH mirror which differs from our connector. This only is relevant to totally manual mirrors (no power adjust). I'd recommend giving our sales team a call at 765-831-2830 for assistance.
I drilled out the hole for the forth stud on my 17 1500 is that the correct way?
Yes - the fourth stud on the towing mirrors is for added stability.
Do this mirrors have auto dimming?
No towing mirrors (including OEM) come with auto dim.
So I just followed this video exactly, hooked everything up and all turn signals and switchback lights work, however the cargo light on the front of the mirror does not work at all, any tips?

What pin is used on the mirror harness. I have stock tow mirrors without turn signal and I'm adding your switchback mirror lights so I don't know if the stock tow mirror will have the wire for the turn signal in the harness since it doesn't have a turn signal in the glass. That's why I'm hoping you can tell what kind of pin I need to buy so I can have one on hand in case my mirror harness doesn't have the turn signal wire I will add it myself. TIA.

Will I need to buy any additional equipment if my sierra denali already has power folding mirrors? They're just not tow mirrors.
Yes - you will need the modify door harness to get the running light and cargo light working. You'll also need the RZY harness if you have a 2014 or early 2015.

Has anyone removed the fourth mirror bolt since your truck doesn't have the fourth hole??
You can unthread the fourth bolt (it's simply threaded into the base), but we don't recommend it as it will cause additional vibration.

What do you call the pins that go into the harness and on the wire ends?
Those are the specific terminals for the mating connectors and come pre-crimped on our harness.

Would the side rear facing lights on the mirrors work with the cargo lamp button or when you put the truck in reverse
GM designed them to operate as cargo lights - however we do also offer a modification to have them work as cargo and reverse.
Where do I find this modification?? I perfer them as reverse lights

@@boostautoparts my tow mirrors have the switchback leds blinker lights but only the blinker amber light works and not the running day light white light stay on and also the cargo lights on the mirrors doesn’t turn on at all. I do have the on the mirror blinker by the way, if I do this wiring mod my running day light will stay on abs the cargo lights will also work on reverse and it won’t effect my blinkers that do already work?
@@DrillSgtPain This will add running light and cargo. The rear facing lights are cargo by default, not reverse. You can do reverse/cargo after this if you're wanting that functionality.

So what does the the wiring do? Is this just so the lights come on for cargo and reverse?
This kit adds the necessary wiring for towing mirrors (cargo, running, turn). Some vehicles originally have turn signal, but if you didn't originally have towing mirrors the cargo light and running light won't work regardless.
I only need two wires as Iam adding signals. Do you have just a two wire kit?
We only sell the full kit, you just wouldn't use all of the components.
Would this method work for the reverse lights to turn on when backing up or still would need a fuse tap?
You would need to do this first, then the cargo & reverse mod.

My slot 41 has a existing blue n white wire
You will not use the wire from our kit that goes into slot 41 as your vehicle is pre-wired.
How about a link to the actual mirrors themselves! You're only selling half a product here link to the wiring is there but not to the mirrors themselves.

Hey guys I just got a set of mirrors and don’t have a mirror plug behind my door card at all what steps need to be taken at get my mirror heat to work then I could do these steps to get the other features I want thanks
Unfortunately we don't have an upgrade path for a totally manual mirror (without power adjust).
