    This video details the install of Boost Auto wiring kit part number 1856HW which allows you to hardwire in the lighting features to your truck to add GM towing mirrors.
    This kit is used when upgrading from small mirrors to towing mirrors. This gets ALL of the lighting features working properly on properly wired towing mirrors. Lighting features include running light (park light), turn signal, and cargo light. Please reference our website for getting the front light to work as a running light and signal, or the side light to work as reverse. This harness is a required upgrade for 2014 Chevrolet/GMC 1500 trucks and early 2015 Chevrolet/GMC trucks.
    This procedure is specific to the following vehicles, but for exact Fitment reference our website with the link above.
    2014 Chevy Silverado 1500
    2014 GMC Sierra 1500
    2015 2016 2017 2018 Chevy Silverado 1500/2500/3500
    2015 2016 2017 2018 GMC Sierra 1500/2500/3500
    2019 Chevy Silverado 2500/3500
    2019 GMC Sierra 2500/3500
    This upgrade will work for OEM mirrors (RPO code DQS or DPN) and any aftermarket mirrors that properly wire all of the wires into the OEM style connector.

    Great video, but I want to point out that you downplayed the difficulty of getting the wires across the center console and through the firewall. lol
    Got it done, thanks for the great instructions

    Followed the video step by step exactly. Nothing works at all except the power adjustment like my factory mirrors. The mirrors are Sanooer from Amazon… Could this be the reason they don’t work with this harness?

      It's possible that the mirrors you ordered are defective, we see that often with the cheap knockoffs. Give our team a call at 765-831-2830 and we will do our best to assist you.

    I have a 2018 silverado and followed this video step by step everything works except my reverse lights
    Will I be able to using the blue wire that’s pushed through the fire wall and instead of tapping into the one shown in the video can I tap into the reverse lamps fuse will this make them work or is there something different I can tap into with the white wires that’s tapped into the passenger side

    For some reason the amber light on the back of the mirror turns on when running lights are on but doesn’t flash with the blinker did I wire something backwards
    Truck is a 1500 with blinkers on the mirrors originally

      If the mirrors are OEM or from us something is wired wrong. If the mirrors are other aftermarket mirrors, we have seen many of them wired wrong causing this.
      Regardless, reach out to our support team at 765-831-2830 or email support@boostautoparts.com and our team will assist.

    Since the cargo light does not work unless you're in park on a 2014, am I able to connect the white wire into the reverse lights on the truck?

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  Год назад

      Yes - you can hook it to TRLR B/U fuse in underhood. Alternatively, you can hook it up to cargo then use our cargo/reverse mod. This would have it working automatically with reverse but also be able to manually be commanded on with cargo.

    Followed the video step by step when wiring in my mirrors. Now that everything is done, when the headlights are on, the turn signals on the mirrors aren’t in sync with the truck, but when head lights are off, they are in sync. Is this supposed to be like this or did I make a mistake somewhere?

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  2 года назад

      This is likely indicative of mirrors that are wired wrong. If the mirrors are from us please reach out to support@boostautoparts.com so we can further diagnose and get this resolved ASAP.

    Did the step by step of this video but the signal light on the back of the mirror doesn’t go on but the signal light on the actual mirror does work. Any idea on why this is happening? I have a 2015 Silverado LT

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  2 года назад

      This is likely due to the way the mirrors are wired. Are the mirrors from us?

    • @BlackBailey818

      @@boostautoparts no they are not. I got them on Amazon but the wire harness looks the exact same as do the mirrors

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  2 года назад

      @@BlackBailey818 the issue is based on the way the mirrors are wired. You would need to reach out to the mirror manufacturer for a resolution. Our mirrors would not have this issue.

    So if I have a 5/14 build 2015 with turn signals on glass, I need to connect the first of the two clips shown on your harness and not worry about the red/yellow wire that taps into the brown and black connectors, correct?

    • @boostautoparts

      Red/Yellow wire doesn't need to be wired in if you originally had turn signal.

    Would you recommend this method or using your harness on the website with the rzy harness?

    • @boostautoparts
      @boostautoparts  2 года назад

      The hardwire method is a bit easier to do for 2014 & early 2015 trucks, however the RZY + Modify is a bit of a cleaner install. It comes down to whether you value ease of install or professionalism of install more.
