Power Fold Tow Mirror Install: 2014-2019 GM Trucks (Silverado and Sierra)

- This video will show you how to install power folding tow mirrors onto your 2014 2015 2016 2017 2018 2019 GM truck (for specifics on fitment visit our website). This video will show how to mount the mirrors (including door panel removal), as well as how to add the necessary power folding switch. For wiring the lights to work as Running Light, Signal, Cargo, and Reverse, please reference a separate Boost Auto Parts video (links below).
The installation is fairly straightforward and does not require any special tools. This can be applied to Boost Auto Parts mirrors, as well as OEM GM DQS power folding tow mirrors.

I bought some factory gm folding tow mirrors for my 17 Silverado 1500. But the other small mirrors my Silverado has for features is heated they don’t fold or have a turn signal on them what do I need to do to make the factory gm towing mirrors with turns signals and folding feature work on my half ton thanks

This will not work for a 2004 Silverado - we don't currently offer power folding mirrors for that application but it is in development. If you email sales@boostautoparts.com they can get you on an email notification list for once they are released.

I got a 2018 1500 4x4 lt Texas edition with the small side mirrors no turn signals and no power folding either I want the tow mirrors with the turn signal and power folding option as well what would I need exactly ?
You can absolutely upgrade to power fold mirrors including any of the options you see on our site. You would just want to select the modify door harness option on the page. The only other thing you would need is a power fold switch (which is talked about near the end of this video). I have a 2015 work truck with manual tow mirrors. Is it possible to add power, folding heated mirrors to this truck? If so what parts/harnesses would I need?

Will this switch work on the 2020 new body style 1500 equipped with power tilt non folding mirrors to make them folding or are completely new mirrors required? Thanks.
This will not work on the 2020 new body mirrors - we don't currently have anything for those applications yet.
My 18 Silverado came with power tow mirrors. They were manual fold. Do I need to have the truck programmed or calibrated?
No modules should need to be programmed or calibrated if you use our harnesses.
This was a great video - thanks for not wasting time talking about unnecessary stuff. I have a question: my 2015 3500 HD Silverado came with aftermarket towing mirrors and they have all the lights and power angle adjust, etc but there is no "a/b fold" switch on the door handle - just the regular switch that changes the mirror angle. They are ridiculously difficult to fold in manually, but it can be done, which makes me wonder if they are actually power folding mirrors that just never got the switch added? Is there any way to identify if they are really manual folders, or actually power folding mirrors?
The best way to check is the wires going into the connectors on the mirror. If you would like to email pictures of the connectors you have on the mirror to sales@boostautoparts.com they will be able to tell you.
Also manually folding power fold mirrors can damage the gears

I have a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 do I need anything special to make the lights work on the mirror or do you guys make an adapter?
If you buy mirrors from us we would simply recommend the hardwire option.

Does the software on the truck update automatically? I have noticed that you can turn on power mirrors on in the settings on the dash. I don't have this option on my truck right now. If I add these mirrors, do I need to download something or will it recognize the power mirrors through the harness when I change the mirrors?
What about a blinked on the mirrors? I also don't have that on my OEM mirrors but would like to add it.

Will these work on my 08 silverado ltz because I want to keep my power folding mirrors.
No - this is only for 14+ trucks. We don't currently offer power fold for an 08 Silverado - but it is under development. Email sales@boostautoparts.com and ask to be notified when it becomes available.
For the revers LED lights do i have to wire anything for the lights to turn on when i reverse or is just plug an play as in the video?
That requires our cargo and reverse modification.

Have 2 trucks, one is a 2016 GMC sierra 1500 with power folding mirros factory the other is a 2016 chevy with manual folding mirrors. The question is today we swapped over door panels and mirrors but the signals lights etc do not work but everything was plug and play, will the harness from the GMC plug and play to make it work for the Chevy? I cant find any info other than people repinning the harness and its a total so we wont have much time with the GMC
You can't swap harnesses as they aren't configured the same so the features won't work properly. You are better off doing the modify door harness to the existing door harness.

For a 2014 with small power fold mirrors the power adjust, defrost, turn signal, and power fold would be plug and play. You would need to wire in the running light and cargo lights. Feel free to reach out to us at sales@boostautoparts.com if you have further questions.
Does the power fold work with the remote? Or is there additional part or updating trucks hardware/software?
When doing this upgrade the power fold will not work with the remote - that is part of the memory system and not compatible with the power fold upgrade unless you originally had it.
So I have a 2018 LTZ with power folding mirrors now. Will I need to purchase the additional fold option for $350? Or can I buy the standard tow mirrors and the work the same way?
You must select the power folding option (+$350) otherwise the mirrors won't come equipped with the power folding motors. You obviously don't need to replace the switch, the mirrors would plug and play for power fold since you originally had it.

Do you sell power folding tow mirrors for 2019 LT tahoe. My oem mirrors do fold but are too small. My oem mirrors are power folding, automatic tilt when in reverse, have memory feature for 2 drivers, turn signal in the mirrors and blind spot alert. If you don't have power folding, do you have a manual folding option that would work for me?

Question, I have a 2018 duramax has the same tow mirrors that have the blinkers and the work light , so all I have to get it the mirrors and the switch and they will be able to power fold in or do I need a wire harness for the two front doors ?
You will need to modify the door harness, swap the switch, and install mirrors equipped with the power folding motors.

My 2015 gmc duramax didn’t come with folding mirrors but I bought a switch just waiting to buy mirrors. I don’t need to get a different harness? Just seen you plug in new switch and that’s it.
Did the truck originally have tow mirrors? What RPO code do you see in your glove box? DL8 or DPN?

Hey guys I dont see a carbon fiber option on your website. Are these the you paint option but just wrapped in carbon fiber? I have a rocky ridge edition with carbon fiber inside. It would be sick so have carbon fiber tow mirror too! :) thanks
These are our paintable caps with a custom hydrodip in carbon fiber pattern.

Why do we not have the power fold for 07.5-13 trucks yet? I'm on my second set (because of an accident not a quality issue) of boost mirrors and I'm ready to spend a few more hundred on a third set if you add this option
Quality R&D takes time unfortunately. We expect to release power fold 07-14 GM mirrors in Q4 of 2022 or Q1 of 2023.

We recommend drilling out the fourth hole for added stability.

Absolutely not - we assemble and quality test in USA to ensure stuff like that does not happen.

My passenger side mirror over rotates when folding out. Is there someway I can fix this?

@@MrBaBaLaBa13 it sounds like something is damaged internal to the mirrors. We 100% quality test all of our mirrors prior to shipping to avoid issues like this, the mirror likely needs replaced.

The key fob folding feature is not available if you didn't originally have power folding mirrors if that is what you are asking about.

I have a 2004 suburban 2500 with power extending tow mirrors and was hoping I could swap them out for the newer style power folding tow mirrors like these....is this possible?
These stock power extending mirrors are FUGLY!!!
We don't currently offer a power folding mirror for a 2004 Suburban (and you couldn't use the ones shown in this video as they mount and wire in differently), however you could put on a manual folding set available on our website.
