Sir, you're a scholar and gentleman for making this video. I just bought the same case and this video taught me several tips on how to setup my gear. Thank you so much!
Thank you so much for this video! Yours was the only one I could find that actually described and showed where the cables go which I did not want to get wrong for my very first build. My PC booted without any hiccups, thank you for all this hard work.
@@TheProvokedPrawn thanks! It went quite well. I went for of a blackout theme. Managed to undervolt the using curve optimizer and also undervolt VSOC to 1.16V, stable and fast!
I recently purchased the Li LanCool 216, and I'm thoroughly impressed with the case. Its aesthetic appeal is remarkable, even though I have a micro ATX motherboard; it truly enhances the overall look of my PC setup.
This case is so nice to build in, you get so much room to cable manage in the back and the removable radiator mount is so useful when your trying to route cables above the motherboard, the management clips and Velcro included (along with the twist ties from the pc components I got made managing the cables not as bad as I though it would be though it can be annoying when you move the front IO to the side position and your left with a lot of excess cable there. all in all only real critique I have with the case is that there is no thumb screw on the back panel and it is really big, you don't realize how wide this thing is until you get it on your desk. Everything about this case showed that someone though about it as in sometimes your 360mm radiator blocks access by your cables so the rad bracket can be removed allowing access, hard drive cage in the way so remove it, want a single hard drive you can do that too, the only thing that would make this case perfect is if the front fans were L-connect compatible TLDR: 9.8/10 good case would recommend unless your looking for something that is compact and space efficient cause I don't think this is it the Lancool 216 is quite large pros: clean looking, easy to build in, good cable management, modular, well thought out, cost (thing is 100 USD and comes with three good fans though i personally replace my rear fan with an infinity mirror fan to match the ones on my radiator) cons: No back panel screw (if that bothers you at all, would have been nice), BIG, no included dust filter (not the biggest deal to many but those fans WILL blow dust into the case without one), the front fans are not L-connect compatible (why, they were so close to greatness here)
Great video! I researched for a while then bought my Lan200 216 minutes after watching multiple back-to-back glowing reviews by Stephen, Jay and others. I really appreciate your video because unlike a review, you walked us through a clear step-by-step view of pretty much the entire process. I've done tons of upgrades but this will be my first DIY build and now I almost feel like I have experience building one (in my case of choice), simulated of course. 😉
when i buy new stuff my PC and in general i always on the lookout for detailed tests and reviews and this one took the cake, going to order this case for my upcoming new build, thanks you for the detailed and superb review! :)
Awesome build man! I did a similar black and white theme build in the same case with 7800x3d with 4070 super. Building in the lian li 216 case was super easy.
Really detailed video, great job. However, for those of you who've done the case research, you'll find the top of the Lian Li Lancool 216 can be removed to help with AIO cooler installation. Keep in mind you should only tighten the screws after pre-fitting the cooler to make sure it fits without obstruction from the rear fan.
Great video! Just got this case and I'm currently in the process of building my first gaming PC. I appreciate the in-depth look and insight of the build process because a lot of this is still new to me haha.
Thank you for this build, your videos are a great help for PC builders. You did a build video on nzxt h6 flow also, so you are the right person to recommend me whether I should get h6 flow over 216 or not, also I will be mounting an air cooler and not an AIO.
I can clearly see that there is a chance of replacing the ddr sticks with the AIO mounted on top. Am I right? I have a little bit smaller PC chassis and I'm not able to remove/replace my ddr4 sticks with my 240 mm AIO cooler being installed on top of the chassis. The Lian Li Lancool 216 PC case surprises me more and more (I don't have this one - just looking for something better than the one I have). Lian Li boxes this tower with 7 fans and zero way to plug them all in unlike my corsair tower. Thank you for the guidance. I thought I just accidently threw out something when the reality is, it was never there
this case looks really great!, im thinking about getting it in black rgb for my next build. a 7900xtx and 7800x3d. but im kind of lost when it comes to every other part haha
Great video! I'm doing a build now with this case. But, can you tell us what you did with the extra USB 3.2 cable that comes from the side-mounted RGB controller module? I only have one USB 3.2 connector on my motherboard, and I've used it to connect the USB 3.2 cable that comes from the top-mounted front panel controls and ports.
The shortcomings of Lian Li, I think the mesh structure at the bottom looks weird. It would be better if there was a cover inside the case to cover the gap on the right. It looks a little weird in there. Also, the dust filter is not available in most places, if you live in a dusty place, you will need to clean it more often.
Such a great tutorial. I will follow your video for my first build so I have bought the lian li 216 and now i am deciding about the mobo.I am wondering.. does the Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Elite AX have coil-whine noise? Do you suggest another mobo for this build (such as Gigabyte Aorus Z790 Elite X) ?
I may have missed this in the video, but when buying the case with both usb panels there are two usb 3.0 cables. There is only one connection on the motherboard. How do you get both plugged in and working?
@@TheProvokedPrawn thanks. Right now I have Corsair h150i with Lianli SL-Inf, is it ok if I plug the h150i to aio pump and the sl-inf fan to the cpu fan?
Don't remove stickers from NVMe SSD. You will lose warranty. RAM stick in A2 was fixed innapropriately. And you forgot to install stand-off bolts for vertical GPU bracket support. Your GPU is sagging.
I'm using the same motherboard but mistakenly bought corsair dd5 dominator ram and when i tried it there was no video out of the graphics cards or the hdmi port on the motherboard so I'm going to order the same ddr5 ram as you mate
As always, I love this channel!! Building a rig, I had it narrowed down to this case, Be Quiet Pure Base 500FX and Fractal Meshify 2 Compact.. this is the winner for me, and this video will make it a breeze to build in it
Will I be able to control fan speeds in bios with this case and the fan hub? I want the 2x front panel fans to have higher rpm then the top and back fans. Im asking this because right now (old case) i have non rgb fans connected to MB on different sys_fan headers Sys_fan1 1200rpm(front pane 2x fansl) Sys_fan2 800 rpm(back 1x fan) Sys_fan3 800 rpm( top 2x fan)
Having just finished my build in this same case, I have become curious how you connected sata power to SSD on back. In the video, you close it up with no power connection. Other videos say just hook up sata and don't show it either. I put one back there and have a horseshoe cable effect to try connect vertically. The result is the mounting is askew to make room and no doubt some extra pressure on sata power cable that is looped thick at connect.. I guess my real gripe is that sata power cables are more for the older stacked tower device era at front where the 90 degree steps made sense.
Thank you so much for the video. At the end how many argb are connected to mobo? 2? From case argb controller and uni fans controller? Then what about the strimer controller? Thank you!
So with this case does the ARGB hub act as a controller, so I don't have to go buy one? I have this case with the Lian Li Trinity 360 AIO and for some reason my fan RGB are not lighting up and it doesn't detect it in L-connect. Not sure what I did wrong. The pump lights up though.
Why did you install an extra bracket when the case has its own vertical gpu support? I don't understand because my English is not very good, I can translate if you write.
Great video and thanks for the step by step guide! I ordered this bracket you were using for my Lian Li Lancool 216 case. But I notice there is a gap where the top bracket should be. Would't I just be able to leave this top bracket in? I can't figure out why not.
I have the lancool 216 case also and would like to install the daisy-chained infinity fans 6 of the 120s and 1 of the 140 along with the 2 installed 160 fans in the front. How Do I connect the front fans since they have a differnet connect then the Unihub?
Can you daisy chain the AL V2 fans if you put 2 on the bottom and 1 in the back. So far this is my case of chose but like you I wish this case had larger holes for more airflow and had slide out fine mesh filters for the top and front and have the top filter under the large hole cover . as the top filter may not be needed if you install a 360 AIO.
What about an E-atx board?. Lian li say the case supports E-atx but it doesn't look like it to me. The standoffs don't seem right. My board is E-atx and I would really like to use this case.
Videos amazing. I have one question. I have the 216 case with Lian li stimmers and Lian li fans so I have 2 controllers. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to sync the front two fans argb with everything else!
If I don't have the ARGB connector on the mobo can I get the led turned on ? I have the same case and the only difference is that i'm not plugging in the ARGB cable to the mobo, fans are spinning but not turning on, also Lconnector doesn't recognise any fans installed, is this because of the lack of an ARGB connected to the mobo? pls help me
I have exactly the same motherboard and case and my motherboard WILL NOT fit on the standoffs. It seems like the io shield is blocking me. I’ve been at it for ages, no luck. Any advice?
When I downloaded L-Connect 3 to control the 160mm fan speed and rgb it doesn’t detect them meaning I can’t change anything. Did I connect something wrong? The fans turn on and the rgb works but they’re still undetectable.
I am going to building a new computer for myself, I want to use AMD AM5 X670 motherboard, I want to know which motherboard is the best one to use that won't cause me any troubles with either the motherboard or the CPU which will be a Ryzen 7 7800X3D exploding or with the GPU dropping the frame rate down from 16 to 8. I want to be able to use at least 4 NVMI slots Gen4
I can't find that vertical mount that has a PCIE gen 4 riser cable. I only see the same vertical bracket but PCIE gen 3. can you change the cable? where to buy what you have?
i think my cooler is faulty ' the led lights on the pump flash when i switch the psu on at the back of the case but when i turn on my pc then fans work but the pump stays off

Videos amazing. I have one question. I have the 216 case with Lian li stimmers and Lian li fans so I have 2 controllers. For the life of me I can’t figure out how to sync the front two fans argb with everything else!
I’m using Lian li connect 3 software too
If I recall correctly you could connect the cable from them to your fan controllers sync port and do it that way or try something like SignalRGB
If I don't have the ARGB connector on the mobo can I get the led turned on ? I have the same case and the only difference is that i'm not plugging in the ARGB cable to the mobo, fans are spinning but not turning on, also Lconnector doesn't recognise any fans installed, is this because of the lack of an ARGB connected to the mobo? pls help me
Great video! Do you think there’s enough room for bottom fans with vertical mounted GPU?
No
Does the HDD bay have rubber bands to eliminate disk vibrations?
I have exactly the same motherboard and case and my motherboard WILL NOT fit on the standoffs. It seems like the io shield is blocking me. I’ve been at it for ages, no luck. Any advice?
My brother, Ty!
Can this case house thick radiators like the Arctic LFII on top without hitting anything on the motherboard or the rear fan?
Why not the superior Lancool 2 Mesh Performance? The 1200W PSU is such an overkill.
16:12 my LanCool 216 case didn't include the anti-sag bracket, that is weird...
Not on mine either
planning to buy the same case, are the front fans easy to sync with other fans etc?
